On Wednesday (January 6th 2021) a White mob stormed the US Capitol after attending a rally where President Trump told them the 2020 election had been stolen from him. A noose was set up and there were chants of “HANG MIKE PENCE!” – the vice president, the main object of Trump’s wrath. Pence lived, five others died.
Joe Biden, the president-elect:
“Let me be very clear: The scenes of chaos at the Capitol do not reflect a true America. Do not represent who we are. What we’re seeing are a small number of extremists dedicated to lawlessness.”
Fact check: An early YouGov opinion poll shows that 45% of Republicans supported the storming of the Capitol.
The best commentary that I have seen so far on the US Capitol Riot was provided on TikTok on January 9th by Zoë Oliver (@zoediackiller). A transcript of her video follows (emoji descriptions in {curly braces}, links go to posts of my own):
I’ve seen a lot of people saying this and I just want to reiterate that the white mob we saw at the Capitol does NOT reflect American Values™ {US flag}. In the same way that:
- the white mob at the Pequot Massacre does NOT reflect American values {football}
- or the white mob of the Draft Riots,
- or the white mob of the Chinese Massacre,
- or the white mob of the Zoot Suit Riots,
- or the white mob of the Tulsa Riots,
do not reflect American values {money}.
And if they didn’t reflect American values {barrel of oil} in
- 1637,
- 1863,
- 1871, or
- 1921, or
- 1943
they do not reflect American values {gun} in 2021, okay?
Violent white mobs have *NOT* been reflecting American values {black hand picking cotton} for over 400 years.
And if the Founding Fathers saw, if they saw, what we saw on January 6th, they would have been disgusted. Like, if one of Thomas Jefferson’s slaves came in and said “Excuse me, Massa Jeffuhson, suh, they stormin the Capital”, Thomas Jefferson would’ve stopped r*ping one of his other slaves, he would’ve gone to the window and would’ve been disgusted!
Nor is this some sudden revelation, at least not to Black people in the US:
Professor Eddie Glaude said in 2019:
“See, the thing is is this – and I’ll take the hit on it – there are communities that have had to bear the brunt of America confronting, White America’s confronting, the danger of their innocence. And it happens every generation. So somehow we have to kind of, “Oh my God, is this who we are?” And just again, here’s another generation of babies. […]
“And so what we know is that the country has been playing politics for a long time on this hatred. We know this.
“So, it’s easy for us to place it all on Donald Trump‘s shoulders. It’s easy for us to place Pittsburgh on his shoulders. It’s easy for me to place Charlottesville on his shoulders. Easy for us to place El Paso on his shoulders.

Black votes voted en masses and ousted Trump. His racist depraved followers are enraged. The Black voters votes were called “fraudulent “ because Trump and his deplorable enablers tried to suppress and purge the voter registration of Black voters. This is totally about “whiteness.” And right wing Christian nationalism. Our democracy is not safe, our country is not safe. Our federal government agencies are compromised because they have been in bed with this out going administration. There will be another attempt to over throw the government. Unless Trump is immediately removed from office and his seditious Republican traitors like Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley are expelled, we will never be safe from a fascist government.

People especially white people saying “ This is not who we are” Yes this is who you are. This is what America has always been. Enslaved Black and Brown and Native Americans would beg to differ. I see the white evangelicals are very quiet.

Hillary Clinton told us who Trump was and here we are. Kamala Harris told us that Trump needed to have his Twitter account and other social media suspended because of his toxic rhetoric. She was right, Black women knew all along who Trump was.

How do you just storm the capitol like that? How come the cops just let them walk through? It looks like there was no push back at all. I know people will say it’s just white privilege. But this goes deeper than just privilege. There’s something much more sinister at play. This might be unpopular but it looks staged to me. These staged events are becoming more obvious over the years. But the question is,….staged for what? Something is definitely on the horizon. I suggest people get prepared. Things are about to get ugly in this country. Don’t get caught off guard.

I noticed that, too.
No wailing and moaning about born grown folks lives….

staged on not I really like the optics
white racist protesters of a a proven lie are given preferential treatment by police to the point where they are allow to storm and break into the capital building and floor of congress
even though they planned to do this days before and planned to kill people and police officers where attacked and some killed ,while being shown “blue lives matter signs and qoute “we are doing this for you as they violently attack them and call the black ones “n—gers”
before the whole world who we (white people) regularly lecture about democracy – and its was extremely hippicrical to me how every time thee was a congressional vote to fund the military whose budget is 10 times the entire worlds combined , or overthrow or invade another country its never held up , delayed or even opposed by more then one or two members
same with “tax cuts” for rich white people who have way more than they will ever need or use.
but HealthCare for everyone
free college education (we used have it)
a measly 600 dollars after months of a global pandemic that forced businesses to shut down and millions to become unemployed and possibly evicted
same sectors and persons – excessively wealthy white people who are racist
isn’t it interesting that the senator that is the head of the senate is from the same state where Breonna Taylor was killed , mean white men are very stingy too
and really really like to lie
I have a question for abgond
you did a blog post about a media experiment you did where you only read trump tweets and nothing else.
my question
did it change you.?
do you now believe he was a good president and not a racist liar?
cause there is a black male activist named boyce watkins on youtube who says its wrong for tweeter and facebook and google etc to censor anyone and no matter what someone has to say they should be allowed to say it.
the same black male activist has on this video discussing this issue and his position a african american female republican trump supporter
who during the interview stated a famous celebrity was guilty of some extremely bad thing.
Mr.watkins laughed and said he needed to google it ,but basically took her at her word, which on this particular part she was empathic and receptive.
i immediately did a google search as I was watching and within two minutes found a article that sums up my position.
especially the last sentence and words.

Yeah, when I saw the noose and the crowds of bloodthirsty white folk breaking into buildings looking for the targets of their ire (after being helped by collaborating law enforcement personnel), my mind immediately went back to the historical lynchings of black people which have also been discussed on this blog.
As @Mary said, this is certainly America.
It is what America was from the beginning.
That beastly countenance has often been shown to those who lives don’t matter.
And as long as there was political sustenance to be extracted by pandering to the foundational evils, there would be those unwilling to give the country a chance to acknowledge and repudiate its past.
So now that the creature Mitch and Lindsay and the political establishment thought they could domesticate bares its fangs at them – at those whose lives matter – the lamentations and apologia have started flowing. Please!
We’re just lucky the rest of the world isn’t petty enough to sanction America for arresting and shooting the “freedom fighters” at the Capitol. Because that’s what America does when it encourages or supports rebellions against popular governments (as in Bolivia vs Morales) or presumptuously designates and “recognizes” leaders of foreign countries (as in Venezuela with Guaidó).

Here’s a little more irony to finish off…
This Trump’s law, created to target those who were pulling down statues associated with the Confederacy, could apply equally to his own supporters at the Capitol resulting in sentences of up to a decade.

I had to divorce myself from the myth that these insurrectionist are meth addicted hillbillies swilling down gallons of Mountain Dew in a trailer park. Many of these self entitled white people are doctors, lawyers, healthcare professionals and school teachers. Many are business professionals that make lucrative salaries. This is all about “whiteness “ white privilege, and white supremacy and white nationalism. And all the while they are playing the victim and screaming they are oppressed.

So my comment went into moderation. My point is these insurrectionist are not economically depressed whites. They are medical professionals and healthcare professionals, they are privileged whites who own lucrative businesses, they are attorneys and school teachers and academics in institutions of higher learning. Many sociological ideologies are given birth in universities.

These seditious, terrorist see themselves as true patriots. When they are being pulled off airplanes and in airports classified as No Fly status. Many can be seen bawling and having temper tantrums that they have been labeled as “terrorist “ and that there lives are ruined.

this thing is filled with stuff like that
one of the females that stormed the capital was carrying a don’t thread on me flag and was killed and trampled on by the mob of rioters.
this a horrible shocking event that I saw coming months ago
remember that senator or congress man who call OC a “b—th”
abgond did a post on it a while back.
and I was watching a video of her raising one of those contrasting questions
the way she does
about how its never a problem when we – i.e white americans want to go to war , spend on the miltary or give tax breaks to the rich
no one ever asks – where are we going to get the money or how do we pay for this
but as soon as its education ,healthcare or jobs or protecting the environment , its how are we going to pay for this ,where is the money for this going to come from ,its to expensive etc etc
an as she was discussing this i remember looking back and forth between her and the white male journalist
and remember having a horrible vision
what if someone tried to shoot and kill her for the way she is talking ,or just for daring to live and act as if people like her are just as competent and worthy of participation in this society at the highest levels.
i was thinking how horrible and unfair and ridiculous something like that happening would be
nah thats some sick flight of the imagination
anit nobody crazy enough to do that
I was just tripping
right?
then I turn on the news sunday night and see something you rarely see
with newscasters male or female
two different segments about this event each with four people two females two males
one it was a black female ,the other it was white female
didn’t hear it in their voice when they spoke

but i saw it in their eyes ,they had been and still where crying.
here is the thing a lot of us are not taking these things as serious as maybe we need to myself included.
remember some of those white males that stormed the capital all painted up in makeup and costumes?
remember guys like that at various sports games that occur numerous times every year year after year
and thinking these adult men are taking this way to seriously?
and now they have done something and seemed to be trying to do something I.e. actually kill people and at the capital of the us government no less
that you would have thought they would
have taken this i don’t know a bit more ah seriously?

Oh 5hi…
I couldn’t help laughing out loud at that.
But talking about whether the situation is serious, who remembers Dylann Roof? That was a terrorist attack against black churchgoers. It’s all part of the same ideology.

In a discussion in the context of “American Values”, it’s interesting to compare the events at the Capitol to the “founding fathers”.
They overthrew a white supremacist system (under British colonialism) that they thought wasn’t in their best interest and they replaced it with a new white supremacist system in which they expanded encroachment on indigenous lands and continued slavery for longer than the British did.
As some have pointed out, most of the people at the Capitol were probably relatively privileged. They just didn’t think they are privileged enough. The slave-owning founding fathers who wrote – with straight faces- that all men have “unalienable rights” would be proud.

Too many people have no clue that scalp therapy shampoos for fast hair growth (obviously with no sulfates, no parabens, no DEA) even exist. Hair styling enthusiasts now may have longer hair and achieve more possibilities. Surely worth exploring.
If you’re addressing hair loss, hair damage, preventing skin disorders, hair growth, hair and scalp health more often than not, similar principles become relevant.
As a general rule, you want to stay away from hair treatments and products that use chemicals such as parabens, DEA and sulfates.
What is beneficial for your hair is beneficial for your skin as well.
Obviously the content here is so useful for so many reasons. It avoids the common pitfalls and mistakes most fall into- buying horrible alternatives. Keep it up!
