Patrick Crusius (c. 1998- ) is the White American man suspected of killing at least 22 people and injuring 27 others at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas near the Mexican border. On Saturday morning, August 3rd 2019, he was killing children, grandmothers, back-to-school shoppers, everyone – with an AK-47. El Paso is 83% Hispanic. He drove over a thousand kilometres to get there from Allen, Texas where he lives (11% Hispanic).
The police took him alive.
President Trump blames the shooting on video games and mental illness, not his own fearmongering about Hispanics nor the loose gun laws he and Republicans (and some Democrats) refuse to do anything about. The citizenry in the US have more assault weapons, like the kind Crusius used, than the US military, the largest military in human history.
Terrorism: At least this time the authorities regard the shooter as a terrorist despite his white skin – even if White terrorism is not yet a serious crime like, say, selling loose cigarettes.
White extremist violence in the US is way up. Over the past 18 months White extremists have killed 63 people. Compare that to the no more than 48 they killed in the 14 years from 9/11 to the rise of Trump.
A manifesto appeared on the Internet 27 minutes before the shooting. It starts out like this:
“In general, I support the Christchurch shooter and his manifesto. This attack is a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas. They are the instigators, not me. I am simply defending my country from cultural and ethnic replacement brought on by an invasion.”
It is almost certainly Crusius.
Brenton Tarrant is the Christchurch shooter Crusius is talking about. He shot up two mosques in New Zealand last March. He wrote a 73-page manifesto called “The Great Replacement” – meaning the replacement of White people (White genocide).
Invasion: Something Crusius, Tarrant, Trump and Robert Bowers (the Pittsburgh synagogue shooter) all have in common is a view of the US as being “invaded” by Hispanics. Trump himself underscored that point by calling out the army.
As goes Texas: Crusius, like Tarrant, is particularly concerned about Texas where the fate of the US, if not Western civilization, hangs in the balance:
“The heavy Hispanic population in Texas will make us a Democrat stronghold. Losing Texas and a few other states with heavy Hispanic population to the Democrats is all it would take for them to win nearly every presidential election. … At least with Republicans, the process of mass immigration and citizenship can be greatly reduced.”
His vision for the US:
“But the idea of deporting or murdering all non-white Americans is horrific. Many have been here at least as long as the whites, and have done as much to build our country. The best solution to this for now would be to divide America into a confederacy of territories with at least 1 territory for each race. This physical separation would nearly eliminate race mixing and improve social unity by granting each race self-determination within their respective territory(s).”
– Abagond, 2019.

So basically he’s describing jim crow, something whites always reminisce about going back too.
“This physical separation would nearly eliminate race mixing and improve social unity by granting each race self-determination within their respective territory”
Yeah, and we would have another, “separate but unequal”, all over again.
White supremacists are on the verge of tearing this country apart, in the name of keeping their white privilege.

Maybe a compromise?
Set up some white national reservations in Montana and Wyoming and send them there to enjoy their own limited autonomy and reservation laws?
Once they decide to join the reservation, they can be given passes to enter the rest of the United states, but their actions will be tracked and monitored.

Can we give them smallpox blankets so they get that entire reservation experience?

@ Jefe, wonderful idea. But I don’t think they want that. A guy tried it in a small town named Leith, only one family showed up. They’ll probably get bored sitting around agreeing w/ one another. It’s much more entertaining to terrorize others.

Trump deserves harsh criticism but I always remember that he’s a symptom not a cause. White supremacy has been a murderous and genocidal ideology since it began. Their mass slaughter of “non-white” people was quite a common thing until relatively recently.
A study of history will reveal that when institutional racism had lost its stranglehold on the South after the civil war, whites eventually resorted to terrorist tactics to intimidate and drive out the black population. You really get to KNOW white supremacists when they feel their privileges are being lost.
RIP to the murdered. Words feel inconsequential. IMO, gun control is also mostly optics and a red herring too. White supremacy racism killed those people. Lacking guns, he could have used a massive bomb like Timothy McVeigh. Furthermore, mass murder is also against the law. Anyone unwilling to break the law to obtain a weapon of mass destruction was not a threat to use the weapon in the first place.
There will be no consensus solution because, sadly, the problem is people.

They used to call this policy, Apartheid.
Somewhere, I mean…
confederacy of territories
They used also to call these “territories”, Bantustans.
As I said above, he is giving a direct definition of Apartheid..

Because white people always point to anything, other than themselves. So it’s either video games, they were abused, bullied or molested when they were children.
All the while, black children and adults play video games more than any racial demographic, has the most traumatic childhood of any racial group, are sexually abused, exposed to violence and poverty that leads to black parents having metal instability, that causes them to act out the above onto their children.
Yet, are not prone to mass shootings, white men are. White fragility at it’s finest.
White people are the weakest race of people on the earth. When they experience a fraction of stress black people experience, they go out of their minds.
White people are not built to survive any type of hardship….

The phenomenon of organized violent white nationalist groups is not new; rather, it’s roughly 4-1/2 decades old, beginning toward the end of the Vietnam era. It networked right near the birth of the public internet and predated social media by decades. This cancer represents an existential threat to U.S. democracy and has extensive international right-wing connections. For anyone interested in getting a taste of how deep the rabbit hole goes, I highly recommend Kathleen Belew’s book Bring the War Home. Truly frightening stuff.

All of this hot air from a descendant of people who refused to stay put in Europe. They sailed all over the globe “race mixing” at every opportunity, killing with abandon and stealing everything of value and hauling it back to Europe. Or in the case of settler colonialists, stealing the land and hauling Europe to the stolen land.
Everytime I see a travel show on television, with the host gushing about the gold and silver inlay on the ceiling of some European palace, I think of where that gold and silver actually came from—–and who sweated to mine those metals. Ditto for coffee, chocolate, cotton or sugar.
Also missing from this murderer’s diatribe is the history of Texas. Anglo and German immigrants poured into Texas in such numbers that by 1830 the Mexican government banned new immigration from the USA. It is ironic that a possible descendant of those banned immigrants is now ranting and raving about the people who have even deeper roots in the country than him.
What goes around, comes around.

How Did We Get Here and Where are We Now?
As a nation, we are currently nine days past the Garlic Festival shooting (Jul. 28th), three days past the El Paso shooting (Aug.3rd) and two days removed from the Dayton Ohio shooting (Aug. 4th).
We arrived at this point in this nation’s pitifully violent history due to a failure of recognizing the elephant in the room (supposed white supremacy) through continuous deflections and coddling by those who passively support these scumbag shooters. We get responses from government officials who say things as being causative factors like:
We need better gun control; he/she had mental health issues; he/she was bullied while in high school, fatherlessness and perhaps even drag queens.
And lo and behold, Ohio State Rep. Candice Keller said this in part, relative to the quick succession of shootings by white men as of late (notice how she never mentioned white supremacy):
“”The breakdown of the traditional American family(thank you, transgender, homosexual marriage, and drag queen advocates); fatherlessness, a subject no one discusses or believes is relevant; the ignoring of violent video games; the relaxing of laws against criminals(open borders); the acceptance of recreational marijuana; failed school policies (hello, parents who defend misbehaving students): disrespect to law enforcement (thank you, Obama), hatred of our veterans (thank you professional athletes who hate our flag and National Anthem).” Really!

These shootings by white supremacists or in the alternative, White Identity Extremists (WIA, where is the EFF.BEE.EYE) are mostly in part brought on by one Renaud Camus, a 71 year-old Frenchman. A super flaming homosexual who came up with the theories: “You will not replace us” and “The great replacement.” He also wrote a book titled: Tricks (What he has to say about his sexual escapades are overwhelmingly disgusting)
‘Hispanics will take control of the local and state government of my beloved Texas… They will turn Texas into an instrument of a political coup…Our European comrades don’t have the gun rights needed to repel the millions of invaders.”

These dumb slogans are designed to gaslight young white men into believing that Mexicans are conducting a soft invasion of the US. And no, I do not support people illegally entering this country without proper documentation. But, to show you how of cowardly these so-called white supremacists are, they attack only “soft targets” and read books such as The Turner Diaries, The Great Replacement, You Will Not Replace Us and a book that was written over 120 years ago, Might is Right (1896), by author Ragnar Redbeard.
Confessions of Crusias, a white supremacist, actually being a coward by cherry picking easy targets:
“Remember: it is not cowardly to pick low hanging fruit. AKA Don’t attack heavily guarded areas to fulfill your super soldier COD fantasy. Attack low security targets. Even though you might out gun a security guard or police man, they likely beat you in armor, training and numbers. Do not throw away your life on an unnecessarily dangerous target. If a target seems too hot, live to fight another day.” – Patrick Crusias’ manifesto
In plain words, we are too weak to attack someone who appears to be battle ready (armed) or a stereotypical appearance of an individual who may have some type of gang affiliation.
I originally downloaded Crusias’ manifesto that was posted to 8chan in PDF format, a website that is no stranger to race soldiers and other supposedly white supremacists. 8chan has since been knocked offline due to the current consensus that the site is responsible for the last three mass shootings within the past week. However, the manifesto may still be read at the link below.
https://pulpitandpen.org/2019/08/05/heres-the-el-paso-shooters-full-manifesto-read-it-before-you-believe-the-news/
And to all you Black folks out there that believe in the theory that if we’d just ignore the problem of white terrorists in this country or in the alternative, that we are now living in a supposed “post racial” society after Jokebama, you better quickly hit the reset button because the collective white supremacists aren’t ignoring you!

…most Hispanics in the US are native-born Americans.
That is especially true in Texas (plus New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and California). The Chicano population in those states is substantial because their ancestors were already there when the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed in 1848.
https://www.history.com/topics/mexican-american-war/treaty-of-guadalupe-hidalgo
Most Chicanos are blended people, with Indigenous, Spanish (pre-blended), and African ancestry. Their family lines go back to the arrival of the first Native Americans on this continent tens of thousands of years ago. Sort of hard to “invade” your own homeland.
You have also written about that history at least four times, including:
https://abagond.wordpress.com/2014/09/24/notes-towards-a-chicano-history-of-the-us/
As the Chicanos I’ve met are fond of saying: “My people did not cross the border, the border crossed them!”

Ignorance, hate or evil may be a motivating factor for some White Supremacists. I think the motivation for the majority of active White Supremacists and their wide base of support is simple fear. Fear of a changing world. Fear of losing power. Fear of losing privilege. Fear of being just one group among many equal groups.
No more Whitopia communities or towns. No more traveling the world as privileged “ex-pats” and who are treated as honored guests. No more touting
WhiteWestern civilization as the apex of human achievement. No more imposing European languages, cultures, political systems or standards of beauty on other groups in the US or globally. The people who buy into White Supremacist ideology see all of that and more as their birthright. They feel entitled. That is why they lash out with violence and threats of violence. Think about the absurdity of a mostly White population that collects and brandishes, “…more assault weapons… than the US military, the largest military in human history.”
One Saturday afternoon when I was seven years old, my siblings and I were splayed out in front of the television looking at a monster movie from the 1950s. Like many of those movies, this one featured an alien invasion. Also, like many of those movies, the government called out the army and the air force to repel the invaders. They brought out the big guns.
My father was sitting in a chair behind us preparing for his Sunday school lesson the next day. At one point, he looked up at the planes, tanks and howitzers, etc. bombarding the aliens and having little effect and quipped, “White people think they can solve all of their problems by shooting at them.” My siblings and I turned around with puzzled looks for a moment. Just as quickly, we turned back to the movie because we didn’t want to miss any of the action.
Over the years, I’ve come to realize just how perceptive his comment was about how people in this culture think of problem solving; a War on Poverty, a War on Crime, a War on Drugs. There is an over reliance on “shock and awe” violence or violent rhetoric.
I suppose if a group used extraordinary violence to acheive dominance, they tend to think they must employ that same level of violence to maintain dominance. Which is why we are witnessing the bizarre spectacle of murderous rampages by young White men in schools, hospitals and retail stores. They feel they must lash out now or slide into irrelevance in the future.
They don’t seem to realize that their violence is quickening their slide, not halting the inevitable. It will be a hard lesson to learn. No matter how many Black, Latinx or Muslims they kill, change will come as it always does.

Attacking weak or so-called “soft targets” is a common guerilla tactic used by armed groups to destabilize, demoralize and drive out targeted civilian populations.
Soft targets include schools, clinics, churches and marketplaces. They are places with lots of unarmed men, women, children and elders. The Contra in Nicaragua, Boko Haram in Nigeria and various militia in Eastern Congo have attacked soft targets to achieve political and economic objectives.
I think of soft targeting as cowardly. It is used a great deal because it works.
