I still intend to vote for Hillary Clinton. Not because I think she will make a good president but because Donald Trump is way worse:
- He does not believe in global warming. He promises to overturn what little progress has been made (the Paris accords).
- He will not make his tax returns public, something that even Richard Nixon did.
- We do not know his conflicts of interest. See #2.
- He has no experience holding public office, not even as mayor or city councilman. His executive business experience, with six bankruptcies, hardly makes up for it.
- He is much more racist. Not just his rhetoric and policies but his voter base too. Blaming people of colour for the ills of US society has been the cornerstone of his campaign since day one.
- The Trump Effect: According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, hate crimes and bullying, especially against Muslims, have gone up during the Trump campaign.
- He is ignorant – and does not care. For example, he did not know what the Nuclear Triad was when asked. But even worse, when asked about it a few months later, he still did not know! And yet he wants us to put him in charge of it!
- He tells way more untruths. PolitiFact rates only 15% of his questionable statements as true or mostly true. Even Hillary Clinton is at 51%.
- He is bad at taking advice. Most of the mistakes of his campaign, like going after the parents of a fallen soldier, were needless and could have been easily avoided if he listened to his advisers. No one is perfect at taking advice, of course, but Trump is worse than most.
- US allies, not Russia, are afraid of him becoming president. It should be the other way round!
- He admires strongman rulers, like Putin.
- He blacklists reporters from public events. Like it was communist China.
- He promises to use the power of the state against his political enemies. Like the US is some banana republic.
- He promises to bring back torture and carry out war crimes.
- It is unclear whether he would step down if he loses the 2020 election in four years. Or even if there will be a 2020 election. His lack of knowledge and slight regard for the Constitution, except for the Second Amendment, is troubling. Someone like that should never be president.
Clinton has done more harm to date, but that is because she has had more power to date. It is a misleading comparison.
No matter who wins, the next president will be sunk in scandal: Clinton’s email and pay-to-play scandals, Trump’s rape trial and the Trump University case, at the very least. And, given their moral character, or lack thereof, fresh scandals await.
Voting for Jill Stein of the Green Party, I admit, would be more ideologically and morally satisfying. I have voted Green twice before. But Trump needs to be stopped and Hillary Clinton, unfortunately, is the only way to stop him. At this point, it is all about damage control.

It’s very simple. If you don’t want Trump in the Whitehouse, the only vote is a vote for Clinton. Don’t let your high morals allow this awful racist man to become a President.

Nice. A new thread (regroup) for all the blue pill swallowers to consolidate their nonsense so that they can seem reasonable after losing already losing their arguments on 3-4 other threads! Sad.

Pathetic, you are a slave of your fears. You wrote basically the same thing for the 2012 election and will do something similar for 2020.
“It is unclear whether he would step down if he loses the 2020 election in four years. Or even if there will be a 2020 election. His lack of knowledge and slight regard for the Constitution, except for the Second Amendment, is troubling. Someone like that should never be president.”
This is monumentally stupid. Explain how he would manage such feat? When Nixon started to show signs of instability, James Schlesinger, his defense secretary, told the joint chiefs to ignore any orders from him unless he countersigned them. Have things changed so fundamentally in the last 40+ years?
“Clinton has done more harm to date, but that is because she has had more power to date. It is a misleading comparison.”
So, why are you using that argument? We don’t know what either of them will do.
“He admires strongman rulers, like Putin.”
The only good thing about Trump is his refusal to demonize Putin. I suspect that’s his real crime in the eyes of the US elite, it surely can’t be his racism since he would only be one of a long line of racists who occupied the White House.

A few of the concerns about his temperament I can get on board with but some of the later points are weak, IMO, and others are weak in the context of a comparison with HRC.
#10: The West is encircling and provoking Russia. It’s understandable that Putin would be more open to a President that would consider a detente while the rest of hawks in the EU would not.
#11: Hillary Clinton has ACCEPTED MONEY from Saudi Arabia and other absolutely monarchic dictatorships through the Clinton foundation. When is the last time Russia was responsible for a terrorist attack on US soil. Where were most of the 911 perpetrators from? Why is the next female president in associated with a country where women can’t even drive?
#12: HIllary doesn’t have to blacklist anyone she just DOESN’T HOLD PRESS CONFERENCES and the media strumpets don’t seem to care. They continue to show her favor and will cosign every thing she does over the next 4-8 years wheras they’ll be on Trump’s rear like a gigantic boil.
#13: I believe this is in reference to Trump saying he would investigate HRC and put her in prison if she broke the law. I don’t consider that a strong point. You can’t persecute opponents just for political advantage but if they have carried out treasonous activities they should be properly investigated and charged.
#14: This is a valid point yet it is made weaker in comparison to HRC who oversaw bloody regime changes in Libya and Nicaragua during her tenure as Secretary of State.
#15: This is purely hypothetical, like saying Hillary may start WW3.

Though both hypothetical, there is no evidence for the former but ample indication that she is heading in that direction. She has certainly been fear mongering and demonizing and as I said on the other thread directly threatening military action against Russia.

and don’t forget her proposed no fly zone in Syria. that’s a sure way to bring about conflict with Russia and with it the increased likelihood of ww3

WHY NO ONE IS WORSE THAN HC.
1. Neither do a lot of other people across the political spectrum.
2. He’s within his legal rights to do so. Or is there a law stating that he must divulge such information?? Nixon and HC divulged their information?
So what.
Like my mother used to say to me when I was a child, “If Marcus, Bobby and Keith all jump off a roof, are you going to follow them and do it too?”
3. News flash. There’s not supposed to be any conflicts of interests. That’s illegal. Exactly how the Clinton Foundation operates! Illegally!
4. At least he’s not breaking ANY current laws by running for a public office, unlike his opponent to lives to break any and practically every law she can in her non-stop pursuit of money and power. Shame on the people responsible for stopping her crimes, and shame on us for not holding them accountable.
5. Clearly you forgot about the “super predators” who must be “brought to heel” – and how her husband fueled the CHEAP SLAVE LABOR demand needed by the lucrative prison/corporate industrial complex with more caged Black & Brown bodies. The US is the biggest jailer in the world. Slavery hasn’t ended, it just shifted slightly.
6. I’m shocked and amazed you’re not blaming this increase on the Russians…!
7. I doubt that there will ever be another person in the white house who was as intellectually challenged as George W Bush. His ignorance on a myriad of topics was legendary! Racism will be a thing of the past when an unexceptional intellectually challenged mediocre Black man can win his party’s nomination!
8. He’s more consistent than HC who has at least two sets of beliefs. One for private financial concerns and another for public consumption – as shown by her speeches to her money masters. She’s more fake than a wooden nickel. She’d be toast if there were still GENUINE investigative reporters (like Gary Webb was) working for the mainstream media.
9. If HC was good at taking advice she’d be a completely different person. Her advisors are likely terrified of saying anything that might enrage her. Her SoS secret service detail have all requested other assignments because she was extremely difficult to deal with, leaving only lower ranking less experienced secret service details to deal with her.
10. I’m happy that Russia isn’t going to immediately lob a few missiles at the US. What about you? Fear and greed induces a militaristic country (like a superpower) to act aggressively. If you doubt that just review Amerikan history.

Thanks for going thru those point by point. Yeah those are some pretty nasty flaws laid out there re Trump. But when you stack em up against Hillary, it just makes you shrug. Pot meet kettle.

Don’t make me laugh, Trump is every bit the racist POS you imagined him to be.
The only thing wrong with your post was your silly illusion that US democracy is there to keep you and your kind sheltered from the storm. I suspect that you knew that, hence your anonymity.
As I wrote before the election, Trump will be Rudy Giuliani with national power. The most memorable thing about “Giuliani time”, after, the 9/11 destruction of the World Trade Center Towers, was the crime against Abner Louima. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abner_Louima
It’s Trump time. Racist terror is the order of the day.
On a bright note, more people can get high legally and more people voted against Trump, or abstained than voted for him.

For the first time in history Hilary Clinton now knows what it’s like to be a black woman. You can have 30 years experience for a job you’re over qualified for and they still pick a white man with no experience. Someone send her a black lives matter tee shirt.

She must be smarting, but the chance of an upset was there. A less experienced black man also beat her out for the chance to become president in 2008 and then actually became president, twice. Obama beat John Mccain, the first time around, whose length of time in politics was closer to Obama’s age than his time in politics. I believe democrats didn’t read the tea leaves because they were set on the storyline of Clinton getting the nomination and becoming president.
“Experience” can actually be a detriment when people are ascribing blame for the things they’re now unhappy about, to those who were around when it was all happening. Clinton’s voting for the Iraq War, and for NAFTA might have hurt her while Trump’s record is squeaky clean because he was either buying property or firing people on The Apprentice then.

Experience doesn’t count if everything you did was incompetent or worse. The length of your experience in such a case only underscores how terrible you are at what you do.

Except the typical/average Black woman doesn’t have Clinton’s ratchet criminal past and present. Statistically, very few people have that degree of CRIMINALITY. That’s the type of background that shouldn’t get anyone a job – unless one is hired to be a saboteur/spoiler for a subversive network (Mission Impossible) of monkeywrenchers.
Incredible, the number of crimes she’s gotten away with.

Abagond, are you really patting yourself on the back? For what? Trump is delusional, but he was forced to humiliatingly state clearly that he will vacate on 1/20/2021. In your view, why did he cry “uncle’? You can claim prescience after that date if he’s still squatting at the White House.
What I found monumentally stupid, is not that Trump would want to cling to power, but that he would succeed in doing so. To quote Patsy Cline as portrayed by Jessica Lange In Sweet Dreams: “Well people in hell want ice water – that don’t mean they get it.” To his chagrin, Trump is living that truth. The “insurrection”, like so many things about Trump, was farcical, the poor bastard can’t even get on Tweeter. Any half way competent putschist knows that it’s crucial to control the means of communications.
If 100,000 militia types appear on the 19th and troops aren’t sent to clear them out like the Bonus Marchers were in 1932 then you can crow.
