Remarks:
This came out in 1963, going to #21 on the US R&B chart. It is her best-known song in the UK, where it went to #37 a year later. In the US she is best known for “Just One Look” (1963).
Her father, a Pentecostal minister from Barbados, thought R&B was bad for the soul. She grew up singing in his choir – but then was discovered by James Brown at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem! The musical, “Mama, I Want to Sing”, is based on her life.
She was a backing singer on The Rolling Stones’s “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” (1968), Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain” (1972), and Pink Floyd’s album The Dark Side of the Moon (1973).

Lyrics:
Our love yeah yeah yeah
Is slowly going on the rocks now yeah yeah yeah
Tell me, tell me baby
Whatcha gonna do ’bout it
Whatcha gonna do ’bout it
Our love yeah yeah yeah
Is in double jeopardy yeah yeah yeah yeah
Show me, show me sugar-pie
Whatcha gonna do ’bout it
Whatcha gonna do ’bout it
You know I try to keep you satisfied
But you just won’t comprehend
And if you keep on doin’, doin’ what you’re doin’
You know our love will surely end
Don’t you know that our love yeah yeah yeah
Is slowly going on the rocks now yeah yeah yeah yeah
Tell me, tell me baby
Whatcha gonna do ’bout it
Whatcha gonna do ’bout it
You know I try to keep you satisfied
But you just won’t comprehend
And if you keep on doin’, doin’ what you’re doin’
You know our love will surely end
Don’t you know that our love yeah yeah yeah
Is slowly going on the rocks now yeah yeah yeah yeah
Tell me, tell me baby
Whatcha gonna do ’bout it
Whatcha gonna do ’bout it
Oh tell me, tell me baby
Whatcha gonna do ’bout it
