Candace Owens (1989- ), also known as Red Pill Black, is a Black American YouTuber and former friend of Kanye West. She has appeared on right-wing outlets like Fox News, Infowars, and PragerU. Business Insider says she is “a prominent figure on the right and within conservative media.”
In 2016 Owens was a Bernie Sanders supporter who said Trump was stupid and “reckless”.
In 2019 she now says stuff like: “Donald Trump saved Western civilization.” She says she had a Red Pill Moment and achieved enlightenment, changing her political philosophy just months after Trump became president.
Follow the money: Owens is communications director of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), a cringey attempt by the Koch brothers (pictured above) to make the right seem cool to Millennials. The Koch brothers are billionaire donors to the Republican Party.
What fans have said:
- Kanye West: “I love the way Candace Owens thinks.”
- Brenton Tarrant: “the person that has influenced me above all was Candace Owens.”
- Sean Hannity: “you are a force of light and a star.”
Owens tried to laugh off that Tarrant quote – Tarrant had shot up two mosques in New Zealand. But, strangely, she did not condemn his actions right away and has, in fact, been making White genocide arguments about Muslim immigration:
“If France wants to build an army to defend itself against anything, it ought to be the declining birth rate of its people. All signs indicate that it will be a Muslim majority country in just 40 years!
“Defend your culture first …”
Which sounds just like something from Tarrant’s manifesto.
#Blexit: Her big thing these days is Blexit: Blacks should leave the Democratic Party, “an ideological slave ship”. She says Black Liberals have been brainwashed by CNN and public schooling. She wants to free Black people from mental slavery:
The four truths:
- Racism: America is not a racist country. The left’s talk of racism is the politicking of fear.
- Abortion: “Abortion is murder … A hard-hitting truth is that the most unsafe place for a Black child is not on the streets, it’s not when they see a police officer, it’s in their mother’s womb. … we’ve lost 18 million Black babies since 1973.”
- The police: Racially motivated police brutality is a myth … but father absence is not.
- Democrats: care more about illegal immigrants than the millions of Black and Hispanic children living in poverty.
Not racist:
- America;
- President Trump;
- Starbucks;
- Republican Party, which freed the slaves and ended Jim Crow.
Racist:
- White Democrats – who gave us slavery, the Klan, absent Black fathers, Black victimhood.
The Dixiecrat fallacy is the name for this, a wilfully obtuse misreading of political history.
Stereotypes: Listening to her you would think nearly all Black people are poor, live on government handouts, cannot think for themselves, and are imagining racism.
Flimflam: She poses as a brave truth-teller, but has no respect for facts, like for all the research done on racism. Or global warming. She even lied on Kanye. Be warned.
Owens:
“You can feel free to call me an Uncle Tom. It does not affect me. You know why? Because I actually read the book – Uncle Tom was the hero.”

It seems Turning Point was founded by Foster Friese. In following the money here I don’t see a connection to the Koch Brothers. Not saying the Koch Brothers wouldn’t support something like this just find in odd they are not listed as founders or donors.
“In addition to the seed money from billionaire Foster Friess, the family foundation of IllinoisGovernor Bruce Rauner donated $100,000 to Turning Point in 2014.
The International Business Times reported the following donors to Turning Point USA: Ed Uihlein Foundation, the Rauner Family Foundation, the Foglia Foundation, Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus’ foundation, Henry and Lynde Bradley Foundation, the Richard and Helen DeVos Foundation, named after the in-laws of current Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, Foster Friess, Mike Leven, a TPUSA adviser and former CEO of Las Vegas Sands Corporation, Illinois-based finance and Waste Management executive Peter Huizenga, Chicago jeweler and TPUSA adviser Mike Miller, Dunn’s Foundation for the Advancement of Right Thinking, The Einhorn Family Foundation. TPUSA’s event sponsors have included Prager University, the National Rifle Association, the Heritage Foundation, the Job Creators Network, and the Leadership Institute and Alliance Defending Freedom.”
“In The New Yorker, Jane Mayer reported that Turning Point’s budget was $8 million.”
“From 2014 to 2016, the Ed Uihlein Foundation gave TPUSA $275,000, including $175,000 in 2016. Richard Uihlein, the founder of a lucrative shipping business and president of this foundation named after his father, is a Republican mega-donor and a “free-markets, smaller-government crusader” from the Chicago area. He and his wife, Elizabeth, spent $23.7 million on politics during the 2016 election cycle, the ninth-highest total in the country, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Richard Uihlein made 6- and 7-figure donations to many independent political spending groups including the Unintimidated PAC, which supported Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker; the Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund; and Club For Growth Action. Uihlein is America’s top donor to outside spending groups in the current election cycle”.
The family foundation of Republican Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner, a former private equity executive worth an estimated $500 million, gave TPUSA $150,000 from 2014 to 2015, according to tax records. Uihlein spent nearly $3 million in 2014 to help elect Rauner. The governor, with help from his wealthy friends, is trying to remake Illinois into a conservative-dominated state.”
“The family foundation of healthcare products company CEO Vince Foglia and his wife Pat, based in the Chicago area, donated $210,000 to TPUSA from 2013 to 2014. Foglia is a frequent donor to Republican campaigns, including $55,000 to Rauner in 2014 and donations to former Illinois Rep. Joe Walsh, who is a member of the TPUSA advisory council.”
“In 2015, Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus’ foundation donated $72,600 to TPUSA. Marcus is a major GOP donor, having given $5 million to the pro-Trump super PAC Rebuilding America Now and millions more to spending groups affiliated with the Republican House and Senate during the 2016 cycle”.
“TPUSA advisory council member Gary Rabine, an Illinois-based roofing and paving CEO, is a donor, Kirk told IBT.”
“Other GOP mega-donors to the group include the Henry and Lynde Bradley Foundation ($20,000 from 2015 to 2016), the Richard and Helen DeVos Foundation, named after the in-laws of current Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos ($10,000 in 2015), and Foster Friess, a Wyoming-based investment manager known for his 2012 comments about “gals” putting aspirin “between their knees” as a mode of contraception. Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon has encouraged Freiss to run for U.S. Senate. IBT did not find public records of Friess’ donations, but Bloomberg reported that Freiss, who is on TPUSA’s advisory council, gave Kirk a “five-figure check.” Freiss made least $3.4 million in contributions in federal political races since the 2012 election cycle, according to Buzzfeed News.
“MIke Leven, a TPUSA adviser and former CEO of Las Vegas Sands Corporation whose Michael and Andrea Leven Family Foundation gave the group $50,000 in 2015. Leven was vice-chair of the Marcus Foundation as of 2015.
Illinois-based finance executive Peter Huizenga ($50,000 in 2014, according to The Atlantic )
Chicago jeweler and TPUSA adviser Mike Miller ($50,000 in 2014, according to Bloomberg )
Dunn’s Foundation for the Advancement of Right Thinking ($20,000 in 2014)
The Einhorn Family Foundation ($5,000 in 2015). Venture capitalist Stephen Einhorn is a TPUSA adviser.
According to a book co-authored by Kirk, TPUSA has also received unknown amounts of money from Montana Congressman Greg Gianforte.”
“Turning Point USA has donated $1.8 million to the Turning Point Endowment, an affiliated organization.”

People live in their own skin and act out their lives as they see fit. I probably would not agree with this person; however, I do not like Judge Clarence Thomas for his positions either. Never the less, he seems to remain unchallenged in his opinions!
It takes all kinds to make this life and some seem to believe everyone has to agree with them.
It is likely that I will never read or hear this person, so she will be of no consequence to me.
i believe my roll was to do the very best I was equipped to do.
Other will accomplish far more than I, also many will do little except complain, talk about what other should be or do; yet, never really be of any consequence to any meaningful goals.
When this person speaks in error, others should take the time to prove her wrong, and explain why she is wrong.
Do not condemn a person just because they do not think the same as you!

I wonder if those are all babies or just aborted babies.
US ranks about 30th in the world among OECD countries in infant mortality. The highest infant mortality rate in the USA is in Mississippi. Infant mortality rates for black babies are double that of whites. I wonder if more babies are lost which are born live or prematurely than those that were aborted before birth. The answer may be better prenatal and postnatal care, not banning abortions (which may cause the infant mortality rates increase further).

On one hand and at face value, I agree with you regarding your statement above. However, I for one, do not give much credence to Candace or any other so-called African American when they are on the payroll of a suspect employer or when their hands are stuck within the pockets of the Koch brothers.
On the other hand, it is obvious that Candace is a so-called African American but her talking points; her leanings and other ramblings are dangerous and are literally that of a another people and spirit. In the vast majority of instances, her messages, if that’s what people want to refer to them as being, aren’t rooted in anything. The main objective appears merely to be to utilize them as a bullhorn to spew conservative verbiage and to be a mask for white supremacy.
Using her as a spokesperson through a sham organization is in fact an indication of how weak white supremacy truly is in the good old US of A and is far off from being its former self as a group.
Another point of contention is that it is quite telling that conservatives or white supremacy always seem to choose the most destroyed so-called African American amongst us. They subsequently use them as a tool; exalt them through the usage of corporate media in order to make their elementary statements appear to be gilded in golden truth. But their rants (insert Kanye here, amongst others) are usually far from that.
Ecclesiastes 7:7 “Surely oppression maketh a wise man mad; and a gift (money) destroyeth the heart.” (The insertion of the word money is mine.)

This nation has an identity problem. Who is black – So called African American or any other word identifying people of color who have African blood.
Reparation is a problem, we do not want certain people of color getting any of ‘that there stuff’!
We do not have a clue about how to divide people up? When is a person black, When is a person white? What are they when they are neither?
Who do people own there loyalty to? When I see a picture of Ms Owens I see a light skin person who may or may not have lived in a culture that had no real concept of race vs just being a child growing up. If a person is black they have no doubt about the way they should act.
This site assumes that if you have that one drop of black blood you are black, no matter who was responsible for parenting you. Yet, at the same time it gets confusing because people seem to speak of being truly black.
Obama was not black! (?)
With a very small exception all of us are on the payroll of some white employer. Even our most successful people find that the big buck comes from some “White Employer”.
It may be the banks or the federal government. Currently this is a white social system which we are participating in. If you want to see how a black social system works look at any of the systems which are controlled by blacks. Most of Africa and maybe some Caribbean nations

It is your privilege to determine what all the rules are and what other are required to say and do. I do not have such rights!
You believe that all black people must absolutely say the exact thing and it must be what a certain group of blacks think. I believe each black person is independent and speaks from their experience and learning. She is what black folks use to say is an Uncle (Aunt) Tom. Of course now Uncle Tom is becoming a hero so I guess we will have to find some other poor black person to blame for not kicking all of “dem white folks butts back during slavery”.
You know ‘dem house n—– that went out into the field and spent time listening to the field n——- and then went back to the house and reported what they were saying. (like they were not being overworked themselves)
I do not watch her and have never watched her, because she is speaking to a white audience, which I thought is her right to do in this nation. I do not have to like what she does or says; however, I have fought my entire life to believe if she is not requesting anyone to harm another person she is entitled to do that.
I believe you could repeat what she says and discuss how what she says is wrong; but, like you never explained what the Muslim lady actually said that was anti Israel you are not going to analysis.
That makes what you say about her gossip!
I believe you are better than that!
Did you notice that Move On and the Progressive groups are calling for a boycott of the AIPAC meeting. That is the way to get something done!

You have not been appointed the over-ruler of all things!
Change the station! Watch something you enjoy instead of being upset over something you can do nothing about!
You are riding on the backs of people that came before you and you speak loud, because of their sacrifices!

I understand very well that people have different opinions. That’s one of the things we all come to this blog to discuss: our various opinions.
Perhaps I misunderstood your comment. But it does seem to me that you are equating “respecting her white side” with support of the ideology of white supremacy. Is that in fact your opinion? Or have I misinterpreted what you wrote?
Perhaps I’m guilty here of a “not all whites” reaction — but geeze, it’s like you’re saying it’s not possible to identify with being white without embracing racism against everyone else.

@Solitaire: I am suggesting you find some positive subject to support and leave FOX to its on foolishness. You can see them falling apart as time goes by. Today they are split into two separate camps; Hannity and crew and the other side.
There are other black individuals on Fox that this site has failed to attack!
We have many other subjects that need to be addressed instead of giving this one individual so much press time.
There is the new “Black women’s movement” and “the new women’s movement”. how are women going to change this nations social mores. When will we realize Berni is an Independent and not a Democrat? When will states separate there electoral vote by the vote count instead of all to one?
The forward thinking individual realizes that all humans have massive faults!
What is needed is the one who does the least damage. The most wonderful successful religious people continue to struggle to overcome their failures.

Candace Owens is like herpes never going away and keeps resurfacing and saying idiotic things. I guess she’s trying to be the black Ann Coulter being a provocateur. She better save her money up because when those alt right, white supremacist are done with her they will find another black shill to take her place.

Candace Owens sat in front of Congress five months ago and said the rise in hate crimes was fake. That the Southern Strategy was a myth. And white nationalism was a scare tactic made up by the Democrats to get black votes. And the issues of white supremacy and racism are overblown and are tactics of Democrats. She repeatedly uses Fox News right wing talking points. She actually echoes that ghoul Tucker Carlson, who says White Nationalism is a hoax. Reading all of that turned me into the exploding head emoji 🤯🤯🤯🤯.
I am connecting the dots sort of she just married some guy named George Farmer the son of a lord and a former Tory who defected to the Brexit Party. They got married in a Trump Family vineyard. He is a Hedge funder. So i guess this makes them some type of alt right power couple. It appears she is building her brand. It all makes sense but personally these are not goals to aspire to in my opinion. Being a sellout is never a good look even if she is a wealthy one.

I get being disillusioned and disappointed with the Democratic Party. It is weak and gutless and it does take black Americans for granted. But throwing black people under the bus is foul and disgusting. In the words of Zora Neale Hurston, “All skin folks ain’t kin folks.”

So she leans alt right and is building her brand as the black face no pun intended of the alt right movement. A black white supremacist married to a wealthy white man. I believe this is called hypergamy. Hypergamy is the action of marrying a person of a superior caste or class. I read an article in The Guardian not to long ago about young British black women who consider white men as marrying up. Nothing wrong with marrying up but don’t throw other black folks under the bus.

She always looks dry and crunchy as has horrible split ends. Surely she has the means to employ a glamour squad to get her together. If she is going to be a pig, at least be a posh looking pig.

Not a Candace Owens fan but…”The Dixiecrat fallacy is the name for this, a wilfully obtuse misreading of political history.”
We got a Dixiecrat in the White House right now, Biden is so dumb he thinks Delaware was a secessionist state(it wasn’t) and he’s proud of it. He opposed desegregating schools because he didn’t want his kids to grow up in a “racial jungle”. He’s always taking up the torch from people like Strom Thurmond, the whole Crime Bill, his constant “gaffes” etc. It’s like he’s trying to be liberal or even woke in order to fit in with today’s Dem party but he mikes the boss from The Office look good by comparison.
Abe Lincoln was a Republican, that much is true. The Dems overhype the whole Trump is a racist, some of the people around him sure.
