Christian Zionism (1585- ) is the belief among some Christians that Jews should have Palestine (Israel) as their homeland, as promised in the Bible by God (Yahweh). In the US most Zionists are not Jewish but Christian, in particular White Evangelical Protestants.

It’s not all about the Benjamins, despite what Ilhan Omar might think. As powerful and monied as is AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee), way more people belong to CUFI (Christians United for Israel). And yet more simply read their Bibles and see God as promising the land of Palestine to the Jews. And they mostly vote Republican, which is why Republicans are so blindly loyal to Israel even though few Jewish Americans vote for them.
Bible verses: Jesus Christ on when he would return:
“And they [the Jews] shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations, and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.” (Luke 21:24).
Both parts of that have come true – the Jews were kicked out of Jerusalem by the Romans after two uprisings and then, in 1967, Jews took back all of Jerusalem. By this reckoning, we live in the end of days.
What God says of Abram (lka Abraham), father of the Jews (and Arabs):
“And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” (Genesis 12:3)
Christian Zionists note that countries that work against the Jews, from Assyria to Nazi Germany, come to a bad end. The US, on the other hand, as a friend of Israel has been blessed by God.
It has not always been thus. From the Crusades to the Holocaust, Jews in Europe suffered almost a thousand years of Christian anti-Semitism, from ghettos to gas ovens. Jews were seen as Christ killers. And the Catholic Church saw itself as the new Israel – no earthly Jewish Palestine need apply. As for Orthodox Jews, most of them saw a Jewish Palestine as something the Messiah will set up (Jewish Zionism grew out of socialism not Judaism).
Zionism is pretty new, taking root among Jews only in the 1800s, and among English-speaking Christians in the 1600s. Isaac Newton predicted Jews would return to Palestine – and that the Battle of Armageddon will take place in 2060.
Into the lion’s jaw: Some Christian Zionists believe the return of the Jews will lead to a third of them coming to Christ and the other two-thirds getting wiped out. To compare, the Holocaust killed less than half.

So, this is all over some corrupt land deal Yahweh made? Sounds like an ancient version of “Manifest Destiny”- you know, the one where Europeans felt that God meant for them to steal more, if not all of the land from the people Native to America.

A bit off topic – My baby dad is German Catholic, one of those who believes the death camps didn’t happen – It’s ‘anti German propaganda’. He is anti Semitic. My daughter recently bought him a ancestory DNA kit. He is 52% Jewish! Me and her were tickled pink! 🙂

If you are a person who uses the bible as your source, you ignore the balance of the world which uses other believes.
Could someone define a Jew that meets the version which followed Moses from Egypt (?) and had there first born saved (a mark put on his house (?) in Egypt and the European (Caucasian) Jews who have joined and now control the group?

@abagond: The complication of the Jewish People should not be treated in some casual manner.
The contributions of the “Jewish” people is massive and conversations about them should be presented in a manner that is balanced with much thought.
When I was young Jewish people were denied entry into the US and many died because they were returned to Europe where the NAZI’s killed them.
I am not certain that those Jewish people are the same people that rule Israel today.
Please, study the history and government and religion of Israel before you comment on the subject and open up a bucket of worms.

The Christian church was originally post millennial meaning Chrsit would return to reign for a 1000 years after the world had become Christianized. It is from this that “manifest destiny” comes from.
Christian’s were the “chosen people” and a “royal race” as Christ as their king.
The Earth was the center of the universe and man was created in Gods image. Medieval maps placed Jerusalem in the center and geocentrism proved that the sun rotated around the Earth.
I believe this idea that the “chosen people” were a reflection of Gods image and will became the root for
Colonialism and racism.
Premillianalism started at the beginning of the century with the Scofield Bible as Abagond pointed out. This shift in theology was a reaction towards science and the theory of evolution. It was the beginning of fundamentalism, the literal interpretation of the Bible.
WWI raged as Christian’s killed other Christians. Suddenly the world appeared to be a fallen place and the kingdom of God became a place that you died and went too.
Premillianalism really developed over the last 40 years with Hal Lindsy books, and others like the “left behind series” that fictionalizes the rapture.

I don’t know why today’s JUES go into a state of conniption regarding so-called anti-semitism. In order to be anti-Shemitic, one must fall under the stead or lineage of Shem, the chosen line of the three sons of Noah. The three sons were Shem, Ham and Japheth (Genesis 5:32).
Today’s Jues are of the Japhetic lineage. Therefore, for them to claim to be of Shem is in fact a bold face lie perpetrated upon the entire world. Any religious theory that states there is only one group of people that GOD chose is going to prove to be false in the long run!
These are faith issues and there are many different faiths.
As long as this type of conversation takes place we can be assured that people will be killing each other in massive numbers.
Maybe we can consider this population control, since we do not want to have abortions, feed the babies born nor supply meaningful work for millions of people in the world.
How many millions of people have been killed in the past 150 years? How many people have been starved to death? How many people have been displaced since 1492?
What is the history of the Christian religion as it has progressed since 600 AD?
How many Christian religion groups are listed in “BibleGateway.com”
If Christians can’t agree how do we believe the balance of the world is going to agree with anything anyone else says.

When I looked up the word gentile I think I found it meant a person who did not believe in GOD.
Could some one find me the correct meaning of the word and explain how the white Christians decided they were the gentiles.
The first use of the word was many years after the Christian religion was formed, what word was used when Jesus spoke. Who was he talking about?

It was the English, USA and many other nations that supported the occupation of the area by the victims of the WW II holocaust.
After that the Zionist of the state took over and now Israel is in violation of the United Nations.
