Black folks putting those 85 IQ to work. Hillary is a total non-starter. She’s been in just as many scandals as Bill. She called your kids Super-Predators and bragged about killing Gadaffi. She has zero platform that is going to help black people. She’s a plutocrat.
Bernie- just barely acceptable. Has a long history of fighting for social justice so his intentions are well but he may not have the gameplan or support to lead to fruition. His stance on the “War on Drugs” and legalizing recreational and medicinal use of Marijuana is a plus as this drug alone has incarcerated millions.
Not sold fully on Bernie but he makes far more sense than the Clintons.

I hate to say this, but most black Americans are still in a state of deep slumber. This deep sleep is akin to Stockholm syndrome, except on a mass scale. The white man’s political machine cannot save us through voting.
After 400+ years of brutal slavery, sharecropping, lynching, castration, immolation, decapitation, raping, murdering and other demonic practices, we as a people are confident and are still expecting, wishing and hoping that some type of equality and fairness to be brought forth from the descendants (Hillary, Bernie and Trump), five generations removed from their kin folks, the slave masters, to deliver us. To me, black folks voting in Amerika for either the Dumbocrats or Rethuglicans, is a meaningless practice of utter folly! However, for those who want to vote, … carry on. Let’s see how much fruit your vote will bear four years from now.
The good Lord said that His people would be a foolish group of people (Jeremiah 4:22).

It does seem pointless, doesn’t it.
However, if voting were unimportant, the top ten percent of Whites wouldn’t vote religiously nor would the Republicans be in such an all fired hurry to block Black voters with fanciful claims of “voter fraud”.

Well, large swaths of white people have always put forth time and energy towards turning the black man into being the “boogeyman” or the “problem.” This group of white people’s apprehension about black people is of sheer ignorance and hate. Another batch of white people would prefer a softer approach, present themselves as the collective savior and speak of empty promises and how much they’ve done for black folks 30 to 40 years ago, sitting in protestation at a lunch counter. However, no mentioning of picking up a Mossberg shotgun though.
This is the never ending, seesaw dichotomy of THIS or THAT Amerikan politics, sown by the white controlled, political machine that have placed our people in a topsy-turvy, borne specifically to breed further confusion, chaos and not safety, security or a peace of mind for black folks.
When white people see the plight or the destruction of black people, they view this as safety for themselves, their off springs or all whites for that matter. After all, doesn’t everyone want safety? This holds true for those whites that have an affinity to continue channeling the “boogeyman” or “white savior” theory.
The Amerikan political machinery is akin dangling a chicken bone in front of a dog. But first, the dog must perform some tricks (voting) in order to impress his master and then receive his reward made of calcium carbonate and collagen (empty promises). Here, at least the dog get something tangible out of the deal.
The good Lord said: “Never trust thine enemy: for like as iron rusteth, so is his wickedness.” (Ecclesiasticus 12:10). To me, voting is akin to placing your trust in a systems that’s proven to be wicked, many times over and the white man will continue to be our enemy, whether black folks realize this or not.
The delivering of black folks rests elsewhere with a much higher authority, not in the political trap designed specifically to keep black folks in a position of servitude and as perpetual beggars for more crumbs hesitantly pushed from the slave master’s table.
WAKE UP BLACK FOLKS!!!

I mostly agree, but the fact is black Americans as a voting block have the power to determine the outcome of elections.
But like an old dog, this voting block clings to its owners, the Democrats and Clintons, when it should be telling them, “you’ll get our vote IF_____.” Instead, this block just votes for the same Democrats who never do anything to improve the injustice system in America.

Do not be fooled.
The political system is a MONEY – not voting – GAME.
You’ve got to PAY to play. That is the system.
Every other GROUP in existence has political lobbyists GIVING MONEY to their representatives to VOTE for their interests – except Black people.
Black people still believe in the archaic (make believe theater) voting… that leaves Black people behind, year after year after year.
Meanwhile, EVERYONE ELSE is PAYING their congressman/senator to get things done (VOTE!) in their own behalf.
Cash money talks!
Voting (bullshit) walks! It counts for nothing. Voting only serves to FOOL SLEEPING Black people.. it keeps them sleepwalking around .. expecting some meaningful change/improvements that somehow NEVER really comes.
It’s a money game that is camouflaged by a CORRUPTED one person – one vote – game. That’s how it works on the federal level in the USA
Wake the flock up!

I basically agree with all three of you. All of you have made points that have crossed my mind too.
For a number of years, I voted like a Democratic robot—mark the names on the ballot listed as Democrat, pray and hope for the best. I even gave in to the fear of the “greater evil” scam that the Dems play on Black folk more times than I care to admit.
Yet, things always seemed to get worse. Those Democratic “saviors” never delivered. They would just mouth the right words at election time and treat the Black community like ragged stepchildren the rest of the time…out of sight, out of mind.
By the time Obama popped up out of nowhere, I decided that being a cog in a machine was a waste of time. I vote, but like Fan, I realize the game is rigged; a “make believe theater” as Fan wrote.
There are people I refuse to vote for and I refuse to be stampeded into voting for the “lesser of two evils”. I even refused to vote for a popular Democratic
congressman in my district last election because I realized that sluggard was just sitting on a safe seat, until he decides to retire with full benefits and healthcare. Those are two things that clown never fought to secure for any of his constituents.
Ultimately, I’m with resw77. Black folk should only vote with a slew of conditions that all begin with:
Otherwise, Black folk should tell the Democratic party, “I have a headache…not tonight, dear”.

I’ve acknowledged that the US system is a pay $$ to play (get their support/vote for whatever is wanted) political system.
Just to be clear, I am not advocating that Black people play this game. There’s a good chance that once WE enter and become adept at the game, the RULES of the game will CHANGE – as usual.
My opinion is if Black people want positive things done for Black people in Amerika, we damn sure better do it for ourselves, because it won’t come from anywhere or anyone else.
Anyone who is on the fence in their thinking regarding the Clintons should view The Clinton Chronicles and fact check the material/information contained in that documentary – as a beginning.
The truth is available for anyone willing to look for it.

I would like to know what Carson makes of all these protests around the man whose candidacy he his endorsing.
Until now I’m not sure if a Trump’s Presidency would ameliorate or aggravate the conditions of Black citizens in USA, especially the working class, which lost thousands of jobs to foreign markets (Asia, Latin America, etc), and Trump (Sanders also) promised to bring back to them.

I think Ben Carson only cares about one thing: fattening his bank account. Supporting right wing causes and candidates is a highly lucrative business in these United States.
Now Carson can send rousing letters to his email and mail lists in support of Trump and probably get kickbacks from the Trump campaign for his effort. He can also increase his speaking fees when he addresses right wing audiences at conferences and conventions.
Like Mary said, he might also be angling for a position in Trump’s cabinet.
So much opportunity for so little integrity….

Black people are not even safe at a Trump rally! I shudder to think how it would be if he ever became president. At the very least, the US would become more openly racist than it has been in at least 50 years.
On the bright side:
1. Like Nixon going to China, Trump COULD do more for people of colour than Obama ever could since no one will think he is doing out of favouritism. But I would not hold my breath. The opposite is more likely.
2. The US constitution was designed with King George III fresh in everyone’s mind, so the damage Trump could do SHOULD be limited. But he has thus far shown little respect for the constitution, which is troubling enough in itself.

Reading the cited link, I found out a very interesting thought from Thomas Sowell regarding an attitude, that in my opinion, each voter should bear in mind at the time he/she will be solicited to make his/her part in shaping the future of the nation (USA):
(emphasis/bold added)
This is very important. In realpolitik, and indeed, in real life choices are always limited, both in quantity and quality, but this does not mean that we should run away from out duties when the choices are difficult to make.
Remember when you decided to marry? At that time had you already not spotted some defects in your future spouse? Did that prevented you to go all the way to the marriage? So is the vote in an election. Remember that you will to live with the consequences independently of participating or not in the voting. Better have an input in the choosing, through the vote, then stay apart.
I hope that most of the folks here – the commentators and lurkers – will vote in the next presidential elections of the USA, despite their doubts about the quality of the candidates they have already expressed here.
