Darren Wilson (1986- ), a White American police officer, gunned down Michael Brown, an unarmed Black teenager, in Ferguson, Missouri on Augusth 9th 2014. It led to riots, weeks of protest and a hideous show of military force by county police.
A month later, Wilson is in hiding, on paid leave. Over $400,000 has been raised in his name. The case is before a grand jury, which will decide on possible charges.
He did not fill out a police report. That means that he can make up a lie to fit the known facts after they come out. He, his lawyer, his union, his family and his inner circle of friends are all keeping their mouths shut.
Two hospital pictures of his injuries have appeared on the Internet, one of them from Larry Elder. Both are fake.
After police academy, Wilson worked for the Jennings, Missouri police department for about two years and then the Ferguson one for four. Like Ferguson, the Jennings force was nearly all-White serving a mostly Black town. The police were so violent, corrupt and racist that the city council fired all the officers. On that force Wilson was considered “average”.
On the Ferguson force he received an award in February:
In recognition of outstanding police work while investigating a suspicious vehicle call. Acting alone you struggled with one subject and was able to gain control of the subject and his car keys until assistance arrived.
The “subject”, Christopher Brooks, remembers it differently: when he refused to let Wilson search his car, Wilson roughed him up and took his keys. He says Wilson used excessive force. While Brooks did have six or seven ounces of marijuana (170 to 200 grams), Wilson’s reason for searching the car is questionable: Wilson says he received a call, but in the police report he never says where the call came from. The police refuse to talk about it.
As to the shooting of Michael Brown, on August 15th an anonymous caller to a radio talk show said she was a friend of his girlfriend. According to her, Wilson said he received a call about Michael Brown robbing a store. When he gets out of his police car to confront Michael Brown:
“Michael just bum-rushes him and shoves him back into his car. Punches him in the face and then Darren grabs for his gun. Michael grabbed for the gun. … [after a struggle for the gun] the gun goes off. Well, then Michael takes off and gets to be about 35 feet away. And, Darren’s first protocol is to pursue. So, he stands up and yells, ‘Freeze!’ Michael and his friend turn around. And Michael taunts him … And then all the sudden he just started bum-rushing him. He just started coming at him full speed. So [Wilson] really thinks [Brown] was on something, because he just kept coming. It was unbelievable. And so he finally ended up, the final shot was in the forehead, and then he fell about two to three feet in front of the officer.”
Thug Test (on September 10th):
- 7 Google hits for “Darren Wilson is a thug” or “Darren Wilson was a thug”
- 758,400 Google hits for “Michael Brown is a thug” or “Michael Brown was a thug”
– Abagond, 2014.
Update (November 24th 2014): No charges will be brought against Wilson. In his testimony, he viewed Michael Brown through the Black Brute stereotype and therefore feared for his life. What the anonymous caller says in the post does in fact seem to come from Wilson’s own account.
Update (August 12th 2015): The New Yorker did a 12-page profile on Darren Wilson. Wilson, like the police and the courts in Ferguson, views Blacks through a lens of Black pathology. And, like them, he did not think there was anything profoundly wrong with the police department – because their world view allowed them to blame Blacks for everything wrong with Ferguson. Wilson still wants to be a police officer, but no police department will hire him.

SHAME on Larry Elder. There’s a special place in the afterlife for useful stooges who swallow the lies of white-supremacy for what amounts to selling out your own. This is what selling ones soul to the devil looks like, right Larry?

The anonymous caller was not there to witness the event. People who were there say that Michael Brown had his hands in the air when he was shot.

Based on the autopsy showing bullet wounds mostly on the bottom side of his arms and one side of face, it would appear his hands were up. Just seems logical to me.
Regardless, I think Brown taunted Wilson, like he probably had done before, but this time Wilson lost his cool.
But, as I’ve stated before, if we are to believe Wilson, who was well armed with a gun, baton, and a vehicle, somehow felt threatened by the unarmed Brown, then Wilson is the biggest coward on any police force anywhere. Certainly not the brave hero that his supporters pretend he is.

Any chance maybe to see a post on the Jennings, Missouri police department?

I find it most disturbing that there’s such a swarm of information and such a lack of ethics among journalists and media these days, it amounts to a newsworld made of a mixture of truths and gossip. I think this is very troubling.
I agree with Jefe, I would really like a post on the Missouri police department and on the faux photos if you can please Abagond.
Do you have any information on the claim that a witness at the scene related what had happened on a videocamera which corroborated Wilson’s version of events?
It’s funny how Brown’s robbery has caused him to be labelled a thug, but this information on Missouri hasn’t come to light with mainstream news media and, if it did, would they label Wilson a thug because of his involvement? We all know the answer to that.

Someone enlighten me but is Darren Wilson the definition of a “rogue cop”?

This is appalling! Its like every police dept. in America, follows the same play book, whenever they kill an unarmed black teenage child/man!
1 Find some incriminating evidence of the dead teen, then release whatever they find to the media as to assassinate their character.
2 Say little as possible about the cop who pulled the trigger.
3 Do not fill out a police report on the incident.
4 Fabricate assaults and injuries.
5 Claim in the face of blatant evidence and eye witness testimony, that their officer was justified in killing a unarmed black child/man.

Of the nearly 4 million pages on the Internet that mention Darren Wilson, only one says “Darren Wilson is a rogue cop”.
He also passes the Thug Test:
7 Google hits for “Darren Wilson is a thug” or “Darren Wilson was a thug”
758,400 Google hits for “Michael Brown is a thug” or “Michael Brown was a thug”
Michael Brown is 100,000 times more likely to be called a thug than Darren Wilson.

@Abagond: I guess that answers my question then. At least i was using the word in the right context. Thanks for clearing that up.

It’s the same ol’ same ol’ with the thug accusations. The only thing I think of is that anyone who calls random teenagers & young people thugs obviously doesn’t know what one is. Why the hell is it that blacks have to deal with the criminal stereotype?
I understand the obvious answer is media propaganda but that doesn’t change the fact that the biggest criminal empires in Americas history were white ethnic mobs like the Italians, Jews, Irish etc. TV show after TV show, film after film glorifying the mafia to the point we know the biggest figures like Luciano, Meyer Lansky & Arnold Rothstein by name.
Think of all the white biker gangs, white collar criminals involved in billion-dollar pyramid schemes that shake the entire economy, white pedophiles, meth dealers, mass school shooters & not once does anyone mention their race, just their title & what crime they committed. Blacks always get painted with the same brush while whites get judged as individuals. For any racist troll who may happen upon this blog, this is what PoC refer to as white privilege.

“Rogue” depends on your point of view. What many Blacks would call a “being a rogue cop” many Whites would call “doing his job”. If you see the police as warmed-over slave patrols, then, yes, Darren Wilson was just “doing his job” – keeping Blacks in line through terroristic tactics.

Agabond, you should include the information on his mother and his childhood. It is relevant to his capability to do his job.

A rogue seems to be one who goes against the status quo. As the shooting of unarmed Black men seems to be a normal, acceptable practice, Wilson, in all fairness could not be labeled as such.
Even now, via social and more conventional media, Wilson is being hailed as “ridding the world of a thug” although seriously wounded. Although there is no proof of any sustained injury at the hands of said “thug”, many Whites feel better with this scenario. Instead of questioning, they glorify the officer while shaming and assassinating the character of the deceased. Just as they did with Trayvon Martin to the point where a can if tea and candy became a potent drug.
As long as the black brute stereotype exists, black men will be targeted and picked off by in humane monsters wearing badges, to the glorious applause of “post-racial” Americans.

It seems that the truth is slowly coming out and it’s really ugly:
http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/10/us/ferguson-michael-brown-shooting-witnesses/index.html?hpt=hp_c2
I think that the Ferguson Police should finally acknowledge that one of its officers behaved in a criminal way in this case and let the justice be served without further maneuvers or delays.
Otherwise the shame will be on them all too!

@Mary. How can they admit to what they see as justice being served? I personally think the Ferguson PD is hiding him. The department has not demanded an incident report; they’re trying their hardest to block information that makes Brown look like a victim; however, the department was quick to leak the surveillance video from the convenience store. Mentalities have to change before actions can. Too bad that department seems to be synonymous with Wilson’s former precinct.

Because “Josie” was proven a complete fake. http://crooksandliars.com/2014/08/media-punked-fake-josie-account-michael
So now the only two sides of the story are the 6 eyewitnesses(4 black ones and 2 white construction workers) and the absent killer himself who’s story can’t seem to stay the same. Didn’t we start off with candy?

One thing about this matter: No thinking person believes that if the officer is in fact guilty of wrongdoing, the local system will suss out the truth and find justice. The anger, I think, stems from this fundamental lack of belief in the system.

Now Darren Wilson has resigned from the police force. But he probably doesn’t have to work and is comfortable from all the money they raised for him. And he will probably get a book deal or something.

It’s amazing how Great Depression-Era thugs – like John Dillinger, “Baby Face” Nelson, “Pretty Boy” Floyd, Chestnut Clyde, Bonnie Parker, “Red” Hamilton, “Slick” Sutton, Alvin Karpis and Herman “Baron” Lamm – were given heroic statuses by the White people of their day. Nowadays, these Great Depression-Era thugs are romanticized by present-day White folks. What if Black men (and young Black men) like Mike Brown, Walter Scott, Eric Garner, Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice and Sam Dubose were bank robbers in the early 1930s? Would they be considered “heroes” of the Great Depression era too? Would Hollywood romanticize them in movies? Just a thought.
