Devin Patrick Kelley (1991-2017) on Sunday morning, November 5th 2017, shot nearly everyone at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, a town of 600 about an hour east of San Antonio. He shot 46 people, killing 26 or 4% of the town. He gunned down even little children.
This comes just a month after Stephen Paddock shot 604 people in Las Vegas, killing 58.
Of the five worst shootings in living memory in the US, all five took place in the past ten years, three in the past two, and two in the past six weeks. None of the five shootings was carried out by Blacks – you know, those people the police fear so much. And only one was carried out by a Muslim, another out-group that Whites fear and demonize.
I knew the gunman was White right off:
- they did not give his race at first despite eyewitnesses;
- they did not call it a “suspected terror attack”;
- they said his motive was unknown.
In Western media only White people and Denzel Washington have enough psychological depth to have mysterious motives. Blacks, after all, are violent by nature – no motive required. And Muslims, as they tell it, are moved by a cartoonishly evil ideology.
Kelley is already being written off as a nutcase – as per script. That way the president and the senators do not have to stand up to the Almighty Gun Industry. In Gun we trust. And White people can preserve their overblown and undeserved sense of moral superiority.
Kelley reportedly had some issue with his mother-in-law and shot up her church when she was not there – with a Ruger AR-15. Huh?
Those sort of guns used to be banned in the US – they are not designed for hunting or home protection but for the battlefield. But in 2004 Congress, in its wisdom, allowed the US to flow with such weapons. The five worst shootings duly followed. More massacres are to come, no doubt, since all the Republicans do is offer “thoughts and prayers.”
Five days before when a Muslim American killed 8 people in New York, it was a threat to the nation! The president said, “We need to make AMERICA SAFE!” He called for immediate action. Thoughts and prayers were not enough!
Two days before the shooting, the US military killed at least 13 civilians, maybe dozens, in airstrikes in Kunduz in northern Afghanistan. Few in the US seem to know or care.
Kelley, right out of high school, joined the US Air Force. He was court-martialled and thrown in prison for a year for beating his wife and breaking his child’s skull – but he was not dishonourably discharged. The Air Force never told the FBI about his prison record. So when he bought guns, it did not come up in his background check. As many as 50% of all mass shooters are domestically violent.
After the shooting, Kelley was chased down by two men. One had heard the shooting and brought his gun. Kelley’s car crashed. He died with three bullets in his body.

the loophole here is that his felony was not adjudicated in a civilian court, and he must have ‘self-admitted’ to the mental facility, if you get taken in, ie, unwillingly (called ‘302’ in PA), it goes up to the mental health database. and the domestic abuse conviction was not forwarded to the national database for that, so technically he had 3 disqualifications that were concealed by so-called ‘incompetence’ or ‘failure to disclose’ from the air force to civilian authorities, he must have gotten a sweetheart deal to not have a ‘dishonorable discharge,’ another disqualifier for gun ownership.

The way mainstream news outlets were hesitant about who the shooter was and his motives was another indication that the shooter was not Muslim or a person of color. Devin Patrick Kelley’s uncle was on the news saying how angry and unhappy his nephew was. What is it with all these angry white males? Last time I checked being white and male in America is quite the advantage. Male white toxicity is at an all time high in this country.

This is simply a case of an eruption of suppressed emotions. All U.S. military branches have a plethora of Psychologists on duty at any given time. Hence, the Air Force should’ve known that Devon Kelley was a walking time bomb due to his propensity for violence as deemed credible by his domestic actions while still in the military and breaking “his child’s skull.”
However, the problem here is that the Air Force was obviously more concerned with labelling Kelley with the “thuggish ruggish” model being a white man. Pardon me, only Black men get painted with such a broad brush. But here with Kelley, it backfired tremendously!
If a Black man had did something such as the level of violence exhibited by Kelley, post military, his ass would never get employed! Yup, white privilege is written all over this tragic story.

Here we go again. Wash-Rinse-Repeat. Shock! Horror! Prayers! Candlelight vigils! Nothing will be done. NRA owns GOP Congress lock stock and barrel.
I heard that the whole thing took about 15 seconds.
But that was enough time for him to sink a bullet in 50 people and leave 27 dead (so far)
The idea that any civilian should be allowed to carry firepower that can create that kind of carnage and death in 15 seconds is insane.
The NRA is a terrorist organization

They treat white mass attacks as if they’re a weather phenomena (just something that “happens”), but they still pray about the actual weather but for black and Muslims mass attacks, they’d bring on the total awesome force of US military & intel & law enforcement
To be honest America has already passed the tipping point.
The killing of 20 “angelic” white 6 year olds in Sandy Hook did nothing to slow (in fact INCREASED) gun sales or improve overall gun safety regulation.
Nothing will change until there are a thousand or ten thousand more blood-baths where hundreds of white kids (because let’s be honest they don’t give a fk if blk kids are killed)
Then perhaps a massive-government funded gun-buy back (that could make all these gun loonies rich?) I dunno. It worked in Australia. But not nearly enough blood has been shed yet.

Alt-right media was predicting attacks on November 4 by Antifa, and this was proof to many of the right wing nutcases that white people were the target. Unbelievable lies such as an antifa flag being brought into the church have been spread in troll comments and vicious hatred towards blacks were in some of the comments I saw on a FB page (antifa) All those comments on It’s going down(antifa) on Facebook were deleted and it’s still not clear to me if two comments that fueled the fire of hatred were fabricated or posted by trolls. I actually found that FB page after reading a Newsweek article. I like to read internet comments and I have to say, I have not seen such viciousness anywhere ever, so these alt-right people are filled with fear, extremely gullible and have hardly any cognitive thinking skills.

Banning assault rifles is statistically insignificant when it comes to murder rates.
Only 2% of homicides in the U.S are committed with assault rifles. 80% of murders are committed with hand guns. The rest are rifles and shotguns.
There are 30,000 gun related deaths per year by firearms. The U.S. population 324,059,091 of 2016. That means that 0.000000925% of the population dies from gun related actions each year.
• 65% of those deaths are by suicide which would never be prevented by gun laws
• 15% are by law enforcement in the line of duty and justified
• 17% are through criminal activity, gang and drug related or mentally ill persons
• 3% are accidental discharge deaths
• 480 homicides (9.4%) were in Chicago
• 344 homicides (6.7%) were in Baltimore
• 333 homicides (6.5%) were in Detroit
• 119 homicides (2.3%) were in Washington D.C.
25% of all gun crime happens in just 4 cities. All 4 of those cities have strict gun laws, so it is not the lack of law that is the root cause.
This basically leaves 3,825 for the entire rest of the nation, or about 75 deaths per state.
The suicide rate in Japan is almost three times the rate as in the U.S. and they don’t have guns there. People are going to kill themselves with whatever they can get a hold of. What makes the U.S. unique is that some people here want to kill a lot before they kill themselves.
Whites and Native Americans have three times the suicide rates as Hispanics and Blacks.I think that is because Hispanics and Blacks have stronger family connections then whites.
Also interesting is that the suicide rates of Asians who live in the U.S. drop significantly then the rates reflected in their home countries.
The U.S. is a gun culture controlled by white people. Mass shootings have become the new norm. Maybe that’s not surprising since the U.S. has killed close to a million people abroad over the last couple of decades. That sickness is a reflection of the culture here in the U.S.
“According to the U.S. Sentencing Commission, for Fiscal Year 2011, 49.6% of those sentenced to federal incarceration with a primary offense of firearms violations were black, 20.6% were Hispanic, and only 27.5% were white.”
“This is how gun laws actually work—those caught violating them go to prison. For the mere act of owning an illegal weapon—not necessarily for using it, not for threatening anyone with it, not for being irresponsible with it—people who have harmed no one are locked up in prison for years at a time. As with the rest of the criminal justice system, particularly the war on drugs, these laws disproportionately harm the poor and minorities. That is the inescapable reality of gun control.” Anthony Gregory

Nothing will change until America as a collective whole sees gun ownership not as a sacred right, but a privilege that needs to be managed responsibly. As long as Sandy Hook, First Baptist Church and other horrific events like it are seen as just the price paid for that sacred right, you won’t see any concrete change.
Japan’s another place where it’s made extraordinarily difficult to own firearms. Gotta go through a comprehensive firearms safety course every so often, undergo a psychological/mental health assessment and a criminal background check, have a secure place to store your guns – the whole nine yards. Cops can search your premises and seize your guns at any time for any reason. Oh, and you can only buy shotguns and air rifles. No handguns.

So now Black people are responsible for White on White crime in an all White county in Texas? Hmm.

@Afrofem, I think after reading about this lately that some of these white people think there is a war on white people and that Las Vegas and Texas are the result of that war. I am not sure how widespread this among the alt-right. A comment on FB by a Dave Pollack had said to go after the conservative christian churches before the shooting and another obvious troll, Rich Hertz, agreed by saying “…lets get whitey”.. on the It’s going down FB page. The comments on FB were unbelievable.

Thanks for sharing what you are reading on FB.
It is amazing that those rightwing types are so used to blaming anyone but themselves that they will try to make Antifa or Black people responsible for White folks killing other White folks.
Their imagined “War on White People” is actually a class war. Their own wealthy White cousins are robbing White people (and everyone else down the economic ladder) blind. At this point in time their robbery is open and shameless.
