Hillary Clinton, a centre-right Democrat, is running for US president in 2016. Now February, she is running in state contests against Bernie Sanders to win enough support in the Democratic Party to become its pick for president by July. If she wins, she will go up against the Republican pick in the general election in November.
Some of the achievements of policies she supported, as First Lady (1993-2001), senator (2001-2009) and secretary of state (2009-2013):
- Mass incarceration of Black men – she fully supported the 1994 Crime Bill (so did Bernie Sanders), which led to more Black men going to prison under her husband, President Bill Clinton, than under any other president in US history.
- The destruction of Iraq and Libya, the rise of ISIS – she supported the Iraq War and the bombing of Libya. Sanders opposed the Iraq War.
- High child poverty rates – among the highest in the West. In 1996 she supported welfare reforms which the Children’s Defense Fund (and Bernie Sanders) opposed.
- Doubling the wealth gap between Blacks and Whites – during the Great Recession, many Blacks lost their homes. The stage for that was set by her husband overturning the very banking laws that were put in place in the 1930s to prevent another Great Depression.
- Low minimum wage – only lately has she come out for a sizeable increase.
Black unemployment did reach record lows under her husband – but only because of mass incarceration: unemployment figures do not count prisoners.
Ma and Pa Clinton rose to power on the Southern Strategy, winning White votes by promising to get “tough on crime” and “ending welfare as we know it”, appealing to stereotypes of Blacks as lazy and violent, stereotypes she herself pushed:
- In 2008, she used “White Americans” and “hard-working Americans” as if they were the same thing.
- In 1996, she spoke of Black children like they were wild animals:
“They are not just gangs of kids anymore. They are often the kinds of kids that are called ‘superpredators.’ No conscience, no empathy. We can talk about why they ended up that way, but first we have to bring them to heel.”
On February 24th 2016 a Black Lives Matter protester held up a sign that said “We have to bring them to heel” and asked Clinton to apologize. Clinton had her bodyguards remove the protester – and then said to her lily-White audience, “Back to the issues.”
She is running as the heir apparent of both President Obama and her husband, and yet distances herself from her past at the same time. Now she says “Black Lives Matter”. That has led to #WhichHillary on Twitter.
She promises only piecemeal reform. Unlike Bernie Sanders, she is too cowed by Republicans in Congress. So stuff that other rich countries take for granted, like universal health care or free university education, stuff that Sanders pushes for, she dismisses as impossible.
Support: She is heavily supported by big banks and, at least according to opinion polls so far, Black voters. She runs about even with Sanders among White voters.

The poll above suggests that many Bernie supporters would switch to the other if he is not selected to be the candidate, but not so many Clinton supporters would switch to the other side if SHE is not selected.
That suggests Clinton supporters may prefer her, but do not hate Bernie Sanders enough to switch to the other side. But many Sanders supporters clearly do not like Hillary.
In that kind of scenario, if Sanders and Clinton are neck and neck among white democrats, then
– Sanders has got to throw black people more bones; and
– the Democratic party has to think more about who would win in a general election than about whether to back Clinton or Sanders in the primary.
It looks like Clinton is a sure loser if, say, Trump chose Rubio as his running mate. That is actually the scenario which makes me antsy.
Who would be the advisable running mates for Clinton or Sanders?

A large percentage of black folks in Amerika vote with what’s immediately in front of them or shall we say, contemporary issues. White politicians know that most of our people rarely vote with history in mind and are low on information to make an informed decision. However, history is still important! They always tell us to forget about history and slavery. I wonder why? Moreover, the good Lord tells us that He “requires that which is past.” In other words, do not forget your history (Ecclesiastes 3:15). For the most part, we are unfortunately an ahistorical group of people.
Yes indeed, so called white politicians does study black people for political purposes. They already know that although MOST black folks are an emotional people and they do not reason very well as a group and they’ll still get our vote without having to act upon campaign promises once they win. This same stunt is cyclical and repeated every four years. This is the benefit of group conditioning, … for them!
We as a people refuse to revisit history due to its well documented brutality which immediately conjures up pain. Who wants to continually feel or revisit pain over their entire life? However, revisiting your history certainly keep you from making the same mistake, if properly understood.
Quite a few black folks continue to believe in and vote for these white politicians because they long for something to BELIEVE in. It’s not that they expect white politicians to change or address social issues; they just want to believe in something. This is a mild form of Stockholm syndrome unfortunately spanning a few centuries by us collectively not being able to see these people for who they truly are.
Furthermore, this failure by black folks to place our current condition into perspective is our achilles heel when it comes to voting. In short, it is this failure to properly ponder, interpret and dissect past actions of the so-called white elites that continue to blind most of us (black folks) through empty promises, to the fact that secretly, they are not going to address unresolved government grievances through a rigged political system.
In a nutshell, Rethuglicans elect who promise to kick the black man the hardest and Dumbocrats elect who could tell the most buttery lies!
Voting in Amerika is a sham, period!

You sound very conditioned. Taking white people’s stereotypes of black people as true. Are you trying to shame black people into supporting Bernie? Historically and currently Bernie Sanders is dismissing the issues important to black voters. Bernie Sanders supported mass incarceration of black men then and doesn’t plan to do anything about it now. He hasn’t and doesn’t plan to address the economic racism black people face. He has consistently dismissed racism as an issue something can and should be done about.

That’s how she is different. I’m not saying that is enough or that Black people should vote for her. I’m saying don’t be fooled by Bernie Sanders. He is for white people. He is appealing to white people. Black people arent voting for him because he hasn’t reached out to black people. He is a liberal racist. He is doing the same thing as Trump. He is just being subtle about it. That’s why it will be so easy for white people to switch their votes to Trump if Sanders loses. Bernie Sanders is appealing to the LOM voters. They are opposed to any consideration of issues that don’t affect them. To them addressing racism or sexism (in the case of men) is racist/sexist.
The main difference between HC and Bernie Sanders. People acknowledge HC flaws and try to hold her accountable. Not so for Bernie. People accept and make excuses for his racism.

I don’t think HC is a magical white woman without a racist, deceitful bone in her body.
But many people think Sanders is different from the other politicians. He isnt.
Do you think Bernie Sanders is going to do something about the racial disparities in the criminal justice system or any other system?
I think we have a better chance of Hillary doing something than Sanders. Especially with the blm movement. Is that something worth the trade off? My logic here – is that every single white president in Amerikkka’s history has been racist. I’m not sure if my vote will be for Sanders, but it certainly won’t be for Clinton.
I’m going to enumerate my problems with the former Secretary:
1) She lacks conviction – she frequently flip-flops on issues for the sake of politics. Example – All of a sudden she is a feminist that wants to pass radical legislation to correct the supposed male-female pay gap. She has been silent on that front up until last year.
2) She is a liar – on the same day, Hilary will go address black people, and say one thing. Then she will go address white people, and say the exact opposite. Her and Bill have been doing this for decades. You saw this in action when she was talking to the BLM protester (who paid $500 to see her speak) before she had her goons escort her off the premises. She pretended to address the lady’s point until the moment the lady crossed the door threshold – after her exit, she flashes a smile to the lily-white crowd and says “back to the issues”. In addition, she ran a nasty, racist campaign against President Obama in 2008 – one in which she addressed a mostly white crowd in the upper south or midwest and conflated “white” with “hard-working”. Now, she is all up President Obama’s butt, saying she will continue his policies – a clear play to get what she thinks are stupid black people to vote for her.
3) She is a neo-KKKon – which legitimate African head of state will be the next person being stabbed with a bayonet to death? Which terrorist group will
4) She plays the victim – She is really good at tuning down her whiteness as she plays up her womanhood depending on the audience she talks to. In one of the debates, she shows up late after a commercial break, and instead of just apologizing for being late – or not saying anything – she uses the anecdote that she allegedly had just gotten out of the bathroom as a political tactic to make her more relateable to women.
5) She is posing as a progressive – I’ve watched two Democratic debates. How is Clinton running for president as a progressive when she is against progressive ideas. Dismissing universal healthcare and low-cost college tuition as “impossible” therefore the ideas shouldn’t even attempt to be implemented really is the true definition of “Conservative”.
Sanders is problematic too, for slightly different reasons. But Hilary is a snake that will say anything to dumb black folk to vote for her and then won’t implement any of those policies. Hilary is a more refined version of Trump.

Great debate going on here. Sanders is an admitted socialist – that means more income redistribution, I thought that would play very well with democratic elements in South Carolina. Not the case – although overall participation was down about 25% from the previous election.
HRC doesn’t seem to have done much for the African American population as a senator, nor as the SOS (but what could the SOS do for the domestic population?).
It’s quite a quandary we find ourselves in. Is there any interest in supporting someone other than a democrat? Someone who might revitalize the economy and get more of us back to work at meaningful jobs? From an outsiders viewpoint, the democrats have been very busy importing 3rd world Latinos because they can form a more consistent voting base. African American voters are kind of fickle – and a great number of potential voters can’t due to felony status and incarceration. Meanwhile, the imported workers displace blacks in the work force much more frequently than they do whites (except for white teenagers – who have been replaced by immigrants in very high numbers).

Hillary Clinton has paid her dues and she is ready for the White House. Hill, Yes! She has a long history in politics that is necessary to fight the Plantation psychology that exists in Congress: White men 1st, everyone else 2nd Class. Don’t let that happen. We have become a have-and-have-not society. A female President can bring a new perspective to the old men-first sexism that kept women (white) from the vote until 1920. African Americans are still fighting for voting rights. Every Black person who understands our struggle for human rights should vote for HILLARY CLINTON.
