Aside from freezing my ass off here in Dublin to celebrate a holiday from a religion I don’t practice, it has been a Merry Christmas indeed. I definitely enjoy seeing my family again. 🙂

Well, as Peanut points out, it makes you take things less for granted. Like no one is stopping you from seeing your relatives on Christmas. Back then they could.

What is Boxing Day? What does the average person do on that day?

Why do people who you see every day( and don’t wish you anything ) only speak to you at christmas, why don’t they wish you the best at any time they meet you? Let’s be nice to each other all the time (not just at christmas ) and maybe the world (maybe I say) could be a better place. here in the U.K. it’s Wednesday so “Happy Wednesday to you all.”

@ Dave Enamu; I ask that question all of the time. It just seems disingenuous to be nice one time of the year. And go back to treating everyone like garbage the rest of the year (sigh) Happy Holidays to you.

Here is the petition for a black woman, to get her job back, after she was fired, for responding in a very very polite way to a racist on the stations Facebook page, that attacked the way she wore her hair in a natural way, ( none white washed ) weave or straitened..

The holidays in this world are an illusion some cling to to aviod the painful truth.
The truth is this america where we celerate at the end of the year out of love and affection for family and friends was founded hatred – hatred of anyone not white european – with minimal love for even them.
The truth is that while you may love your family and friends – others don’t
have family ,nor friends AND there are people with family and friends who still hate you and yours – and nothing but your suffering and death will satisfy them.
As I grow older to make sense of it all I try to simplify .
This season ,these holidays are about two simple things – gratitude and love.
but you can’t be grateful for hate ,now can you.
You might wonder why we persist in our hatreds and our loves – I think its because we (meaning all sapiens – my term for humans thats is not gender bais)
need them both – I know i do I need things and people that I love in order to live.
I need anger – the extreme form known as hate for those things and people the threaten and harm those that I love.
So in closing I love you abagond and I grateful for your existence.
As to the other commenters and bloggers here, some I know and love as well and I will be visting your blogs as well to express my gratitude and affection.
As to my/our foes – the less said in anger and hate the better – for we are all doomed to die.
Thank you abagond
