Remarks:
This popped into my head out of the blue the other day even though I probably have not heard it since the 1980s. Not sure if this song even charted. Thanks to the magic of YouTube, I can hear it again! But it does not “sound good all these years later” – it just sounds like a cheesy disco song! The chorus, though, still holds up.
The video above comes from their appearance on “Soul Train” on March 17th 1979. The audio comes from a longer version than what they performed on “Soul Train”,but it is closer to how I remember the song.
– Abagond, 2017.

- songs, the 1970s
- Human League: Fascination – also popped into my head out of the blue decades later.
- Robin Thicke: Can U Believe – also misremembered so that it sounds better
- Neneh Cherry: Buffalo Stance – also shockingly cheesy when I looked it up years later on YouTube
- old songs that sound just as good now as when I first heard them:
Lyrics:
Love, ooh, love
Desire
Love, ooh, love
Desire
Love, desire
Love
Oh, oh, oh…
Love and desire, yeah
You are my love and desire
Love and desire
Love and desire
You pick me up when I’m down
And you make my spirit brighter
I just can’t get enough of your love
I’m a man who’s soul is on fire
There is nothing that I’d like better
Than the feeling that I get
When you’re lying in my arms
And my head begins to sweat
What a feeling I get with you
?
It’s just that good old love and desire
And it’s running through my veins
Love and desire
Love and desire
Love and desire
Love and desire
Love, ooh, love
Desire
Love, ooh, love
Desire
Love, ooh, love
Desire
Love, desire
Love, hey, hey
What I feel in my heart for you
Is so easy to explain
It’s just that good old
Love and desire
It’s running through my veins
Love and desire
Love and desire
Love and desire
Love and desire
Love and desire
You are my
Love and desire
Love, ooh, love
Desire
Love, ooh, love
Desire…

I have a thought. Every time you place post a subject of Blacks dancing, follow it up with some positive activity that Blacks are doing.

Whatsamatter Allen?
You can’t dance … huh??
Just because YOU can’t move your body to the beat does not mean that dancing isn’t a positive activity …. like just because YOU can’t think, doesn’t make thinking a bad thing.

It’s very disco but it’s not bad.

LOL! What’s wrong Allen, …. you mad bruh? If you find yourself unable to move like Black folks on the dance floor; on the football field, on the basketball court or find yourself facing a long term mental block in the chemistry lab or moments of deficiency in the intellectual department, perhaps it is due to your pineal gland being calcified, which of course produces melanin. You know, … that black substance (melanin) that most white folks lack in abundance, if any at all, which in turn, leads them on a path to even self destruction.
Stick around Allen, I enjoy having you here!
