McKinney, a suburb of Dallas, Texas, became #McKinney, a Twitter hashtag, on Sunday June 7th 2015. That was when a seven-minute video of a pool party on Friday went viral on the Internet. It shows Corporal Eric Casebolt, a White police officer, throwing a 15-year-old Black girl, Dajerria Becton, to the ground – “On your face!” – and putting his knees in her back as she cries in pain. Apparently he did not like something she said. When two unarmed Black teenage boys try to help her, he pulls a gun on them (not his taser).
Some watch the video and see an out-of-control police officer endangering the lives of children. Others watch it and see an officer endangered by out-of-control teenagers.
The mayor, for his part, was “disturbed and concerned.”
Casebolt has been put on paid leave (paid vacation) while the police investigate themselves.
The pool party took place in a gated White neighbourhood. Teenagers that BuzzFeed spoke to said that they attended the party using guest passes. Despite that, adults told the Black children to leave and return to “Section 8 [public] housing.”
Brandon Brooks, the 15-year-old who took the video, said:
“I think a bunch of white parents were angry that a bunch of black kids who don’t live in the neighborhood were in the pool.”
“A fight between a mom and a girl broke out and when the cops showed up everyone ran, including the people who didn’t do anything. So the cops just started putting everyone on the ground and in handcuffs for no reason.”
“Everyone who was getting put on the ground was black, Mexican, Arabic. … [the cop] didn’t even look at me. It was kind of like I was invisible.”
Brooks is White.
There were several telephone calls to the police. They have not (yet) been made public.
The police say they were called about a “distubance” at the Craig Ranch North community pool at 7.15pm. They said there were juveniles who “do not live in the area or have permission to be there.”
In the video no one is being violent or threatening or creating a disturbance – except for Casebolt. He only goes after Black children.
One of those who called the police, a White man (pictured above), later put up a sign at the pool that said:
“Thank you McKinney PD for keeping us safe.”
McKinney, Texas: This took place on the west side of town, which is mostly White and well-to-do. In 2009, McKinney was taken to court for opposing Section 8 housing for the poor on the west side. In 2013 some Section 8 housing started to be built.
Casebolt is part of the leadership of the police department and vice president of the police union. In 2008, he was named Patrolman of the Year.
The playlist of Casebolt’s now-empty YouTube channel (decase73) had the McKinney video. It also had “Chief tells the TRUTH that Black people dont want to hear”. It shows the police chief of Milwaukee making the Black-on-Black crime argument when asked about police brutality.

Perhaps you and many other whites have a skewed perception of what it means to be black in this country. It may be something new to you, but black folks have always known this entire country to be a sh#t hole, and it’s not just the south either!
For example, compared to what white folks did to Black Wall Street in 1921 Tulsa Oklahoma (think literally dropping bombs on black people), therefore, a white officer smacking a child around in McKinney, TX. in 2015 is nothing in comparison. You shouldn’t be so easily horrified at something so minute, considering our dreadful history in this country as it pertains specifically to issues of race. Pardon me, … did I hear someone say INSINCERITY!

We can protest about it all day, but we wasting time spinning on a hamster wheel, history repeating itself. Blacks will never be seen as equal neither will any other minority. Black people you are HATED. Hatred cripples the human population continuing to lower our consciousness. When consciousness is low, so is morality. As long as people continue to play into the hands of the real controlling forces seeing themselves as separate we all will all forever continue to be enslaved. That goes for whites too, regardless if they realize or not they are slaves too. Slaves to ego, superiority complex and fear. During your time spent on earth its best to Just do what you can to enlighten future generations making them aware that there is a better place then this. Actions always have consequences so as long as you doing the right thing or at least trying, you have nothing to worry about. You are all you can be responsible for. There will always be some Black people who don’t see (more likely refuse to acknowledge) racism. Sometimes it’s because of their own internalized racism or they feel denying racism will give them an in with whites. In my opinion there is clearly some racial bias going on. The fact that the white kids we’re virtually ignored while the kids of color ( mainly Black from what I can tell )were being zeroed in on is quite telling.

From the numerous videos of police criminality against Black people it is very obvious that the White supremacists have declared racial war against Black people in general and Black youth in particular. Yes, this is all done in the “first Black president” era.
Will President Barack Obama call this White cop “a thug” or will he say that the racist cop handled the situation “stupidly”. From the president’s previous comments on police on Black crime issues – probably not.
The most insidious form of racism manifests in institutions not individuals. The racist White cop in the video was not representing himself, he was representing White supremacy in the name of one of its main institutions – law enforcement. The horrific video bears witness to my statement.
Wake up Black people! It’s imperative that we combat White supremacy (injustice) at all costs.

The officer was threatened by a teen-aged unarmed girl wearing almost no clothes – hence the need to draw his weapon and assert his authority. I mean c’mon, she could have been a terrorist, hiding her Jihadist AK-47 in her vagina, or perhaps underneath her flip-flops.
These are not cops. They are race soldiers.
Even the other cops on the scene, thought him pulling a gun on the kid was over the top. You can see one semi restraining him and getting that pistol back in the holster. I have no doubt that if he hadn’t done that shots would have been fired.
At which point an embarasing spectacle would have descended into utter debacle.
Looks like Casebolt (The Cop) has “small man” issues. I read on the net that this “cop” was feeling up the young woman he slammed to the ground as well, so now, there’s probably a sexual assault to add to the growing list of things this moron did wrong.
This cop played a big role in escalating matters to a life and death situation within a matter of minutes. He was the worst behaved of anyone on the scene.
Whatever they’re responding to, it doesn’t justify the lunatic behavior that cop is exhibiting. Some of the police there seem to be cooly taking to the kids, but one or two completely lost their plot.
It’s asinine that he restrained her at all (What’s the charge, contempt of cop ?). It’s callous disregard of the health and safety of a child to put your entire body weight on her with your knees. It honestly shouldn’t even take him both hands to restrain someone that size.
O sorry I forgot. She’s black. She has super human negro strength in the cops mind.
And I don’t for a second believe he would have acted the same way if the kids had been white. He belongs in jail, not on the unemployment line.
Geez – nope, no race problem in Amurka

I thank God that there was someone recording him and that there were other people around or he might have very easily sexually assaulted her. Police officers have raped women before. There is no way in hell a grown man should have been touching on her like that; why wasn’t a female officer allowed to do that?! And I feel that fat man with the tan shirt was out of line as well. I have likely read some of the same things that you did. and I am not blind to it. I believe that it is likely that too many people were invited in the first place, and that proper communication and oversight of the pool party were not achieved. I think the D.J. probably wanted to “make the party successful” and began blasting it all over twitter and Facebook, and soon teens were clamoring to get in. This was a problem! And to those of us who have dealt with this first hand it sll sounds familiar. People get angry, and nobody wants to be turned away… yada, yada, yada…
But here is my problem with what happened. This circumstance has happened so often that it has become something of an American institution. The “out of control party” has been done so many in movies and TV shows that it’s almost easier to list the shows where in hasn’t been done! Add to that the fact that this happens all the time in real life.
If you go to just about any college town, on given Friday nights, you will find the following behaviors:
– White kids hopping fences, gates, and skirting security to get in.
– White kids overcrowding neighborhoods to get to a party
– White kids playing rock music at high decibels
– White kids drinking, getting high, and getting excessively inebriated
– White girls pulling back their hair and vomiting on the sidewalk
– White guys urinating in the gutter
– White kids passed out on the sidewalk
And when these Frat parties are inevitably broken up by the police, half drunk kids throw bottles, curse the police, loiter and react ever so slowly to commands and outright disobey. BUT HERE IS THE DIFFERENCE: Those policemen at those Fraternity parties do not run around shouting at the students:
“Get down, I SAID get down! Get your face in the dirt!”
“Hey you *%%$^ I said to ^&%$#%^ get out of here!!”
Also, none of the female students are manhandled for loitering or for mumbling nasty things under their breath as they walk away. People who are not drunk and violent are not being handcuffed. No ladies have a knee in their back as some cop sits on top of them for “not complying” or “resisting arrest” because when their arm was gabbed roughly they pulled it away.
Yet this happens all the time in the White community from City College to Yale. So why the harsh treatment when we’re talking about Black HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS?

At the end of the day, this whole incident began with white adults verbally abusing black children at the pool.
The fight is what brought the police out — a fight started by a white man, Sean Toon, (who had the nerves to call the police)
and 2 white women, who slapped the organizer of the party.
The attention really needs to be on these people also–the instigators– not just officer “Kung Fu” Casebolt.
What I can’t stand about the media is that they focus on the wrong dam things… it’s the everyday Becky and Biff that are also the problems —
one of those white women who started the fight, is a financial manager
she is in a position of “control” at an company and institution, that can have adverse affects the everyday black person’s financial life.
Twitter outed her and she is now on administrative leave. THIS is where the media should have been focused on, side by side, with the actions of the policeman.

White woman suspended from job after allegedly instigating McKinney pool fight
the two women were “confirmed” to have made racist comments that led to the party spiraling into a violent melee in which police were called and also caught on tape abusing adolescent African American party guests. On her social media profile, Allbritton claimed to work for Bank of America.
But BofA conducted an investigation and found Allbritton actually works for CoreLogic, a Bank of America vendor that provides financial profiles to the banking giant that are key in making mortgage lending decisions, the Daily Kos reports.
“CoreLogic does not condone violence, discrimination or harassment and takes conduct that is inconsistent with our values and expectations very seriously,” the firm wrote in a statement reported by Dallas News. “As a result of these pending allegations, we have placed the employee in question on administrative leave while further investigations take place.”

Iber — in a brief public post on a story on the Miami Herald’s website — defended the officer’s response.
“He did nothing wrong,” Iber wrote in a comment that showed his Facebook picture, name, school and title. “He was afraid for his life. I commend him for his actions.”
Iber, who just finished his first year as the head of North Miami Senior High, said he meant to write the comment anonymously.

Casebolt was making serious errors out there.
For one thing, a police “crowd control” strategy is much different than a one on one strategy. You can’t point to a crowd and of people and yell for them to “Get out of here.” People within a crowd feel more anonymous, and they look to their fellow crowd members for how to react This is well known police theory. That is why during a riot police do not focus on one individual stealing a television set. Instead they are working to deescalate the tension, deter excesses, protect lives and restore order slowly. All of that takes time and it won’t happen if individual officers are trying to wrestle people for TV sets. Casebolt was essentially running from person to person, nearly in a wild-eyed-panic of trying to maintain control over every individual. That’s missing the forest for the trees.
Another obvious error is in trying to disburse a crowd of teenagers. Teens are not adults. Many of them do not drive, Many may not live in the immediate area. THEY HAVE NO ALTERNATE PLACE TO IMMEDIATELY GO. Just as White kids are dropped off to the mall, or soccer practice, and picked up fastidiously, Black kids are no less precious vulnerable. This idea that he can just disperse them onto the streets instead of waiting for them to call their rides, talk to their parents, and arrange to go ti there places is ridiculous, in his own mind, Black kids are made for the streets, why should special care be taken to ensure that they get off safely? SURE this doesn’t apply to every single teen, but you cannot assume that all Black kids can just be summarily kicked out of a neighborhood by a cursing policeman and that it will be fine.
And of course, attacking young girls in a mixed crowd is foolhardy. If anything is going to place the males into a defensive/protective mode, it’s going to be the sight of a female friend or relative being throttled by a full gown man as she is screaming and crying for her mother. How does he THINK the boys are going to react? And then when they rush instinctively to help her, he pulls out his gun. We were that close to another shooting of unarmed Black teenagers because some idiot cop was haven a “bad day,”

LOL That was hilarious despite his otherwise illegal and evil actions. But it does show that he was clearly in another world. One in which he was playing out a movie scene that he saw growing up and one in which he had conjured up some bad guys who happened to be black kids who did not break the law.
I hope this punk gets life in the worst federal prison, but I guess that’s wishful thinking when assholes in McKinney think he was just doing his job of protecting them from unarmed and innocent 15 year old girls.

Lets say that I was a policeman and I get the word about a meth house in Arkansas. So I conduct a raid of the place. I go in and scream at all the hillbillies to “Get down” and then I start cursing at them! But there is a 14 year old girl who lives there, and she can’t understand why her family members are being aggressively questioned. I tell her to shut up and finally to get out. She refuses to leave. So, I grab her by the arm and throw her down on the ground, twisting her arm behind her back and kneeling on her. She is screaming, crying, and asking for her mother! her bother and cousin jump move toward me and I shoot them both dead!!!
Now am I justified? How did I expect for the men to react if I start attacking their young women right in front of them? NOT for attacking me but because she would do what I said. Who is most of false, me or the two boys who jumped to save herl from me?

I’ll be honest with you and I will say, if that was my daughter that cop would molested and I saw it with my own eyes. Today would be the day i would be prepared to die.
Indeed I would have stepped in regardless. Resignation is not enough. Just imagine the reverse of this ? Those young black men doing that to a cop. He should be doing 10-15 years.
I better stop before I say something worse.

Yeah; you would be justified.
You were a cop; you gave them orders, they refused to comply…..and refusing to comply with cops means shits going to happen.
Does it suck that you basically have to take a beating when it’s from a cop?
Yeah it does.
But you also can’t be surprised when a cop pulls a gun when two people are charging at him.
Don’t want a guy with a gun to pull it on you? Don’t charge him.

I am at a lost on the how, but I will say that now is as good a time as any for black people to really start building their own stake financially and stop waiting on whites to have this massive change of heart.

It’s not that I didn’t expect him to pull the gun—He’s kind of put himself in a position where he HAS to—and that’s the problem.
Going on a call to handle an overcrowded pool party, and ending up instigating a series of events in which two unarmed teenagers get shot all because you can’t use your head. And of the 12 cops on the scene, YOU are the only one shooting!!1

..Just got off the phone with CoreLogic’s media department, and put in my bid that Tracy be canned (permanently) from their company-was informed that she is on “administrative leave” as of this moment, and that I would be considering closing my BofA account. As a matter of fact, I was tired of their previous mishandling of policies anyways so I am Definitely closing my account immediately!

V4@ And it’s not like the guy just randomly pulled his gun out on a couple black teens.
He pulled it out while he was in the middle of an arrest while a couple black teens decided to charge him.

Linda says,
V4, don’t know what video you were watching but the boys backed up As Soon As Officer “Kick A’s” Casebolt stood up — THEN he pulled his gun as he was advancing towards the boys.
White people like you are part of the problem. You distort any situation and narrative that involves black people, to fit your racist world view
You’ll support anything and anyone who hurts or disenfranchises a black person – black people will be at fault “at all times” in your narrative and white people/the police will always be right
Even the police are aware that racist like you will support them, NO MATTER WHAT — and even they recognize that white people like you are part of the problem
Here is a police website where officers express their views about white people like yourself– enjoy:
‘It’s not illegal to be black’: Cops complain online about white people getting ‘freaked out’ by their black neighbors and wasting police time with 911 calls
“White People, please stop making my job so difficult.”
Ya know, I’m just going to complain and get some stuff off my chest.
So I’m working last week and get dispatched to a call of ‘Suspicious Activity.’
Ya’ll wanna know what the suspicious activity was?
Someone walking around in the dark with a flashlight and crow bar? Nope. Someone walking into a bank with a full face mask on? Nope.
It was two black males who were jump starting a car at 930 in the morning. That was it. Nothing else. Someone called it in.
People. People. People. If you’re going to be a racist, stereotypical jerk…keep it to yourself. Don’t call the police and make them get involved into your douchebaggery.
That’s all. End rant.

I get your point, but keeping your racism to yourself can be very toxic.
I’m like our Ancestor, Malcolm X, who said he has more respect for an overt racist than a covert racist.
The two worst racists are:
1.) One who denies the existence of racism.
2.) One who hides his or her racial views towards other.
Linda, in many cases, your comments are always on the mark, which is why I enjoy reading them.

He pulled it out while he was standing up and kept it out as they were running away.
They didn’t start backing up till he started getting up and pulled out his gun.
And they didn’t run away until he started approaching them.
A couple people charging, backing up when they notice you at the last second but staying only a few feet and being antsy away doesn’t seem like the most “calm maintaining scenario”.
Basically at that point, going for a weapon isn’t totally out of line. Your surrounded by aggressive people with two who already went on the attack.
Attacking a cop is hardly “doing nothing” or just “being black in america”.
The girl wouldn’t leave when told too, despite having been done so more than once, resisted arrest and then a couple people went to attack him.
The biggest problem is; yeah that guy put himself in a scenario he shouldn’t have and kept his gun out when it was clear the kids posed no further danger.
And had to have a couple other cops calm him down. Clearly this guy isn’t cop material.
I’m hearing even more stuff about this.
Apparently the mom is some kind of promotion manager and didn’t get permission to actually have the party at the place.
So basically she just took over a privately-controlled area without letting the security or neighborhood know about it.
And avoided having to pay whatever kinds of fee’s etc would be needed for that.
@Lord of Mirkwood
What do I advocate?
When a cop is arresting someone don’t attack them.
When a cop tells you to get on the ground, you don’t protest, tell them to “hold up sir” or pull against his grip.
You just get on the ground.
When they tell you to leave, you leave.
Don’t give someone who can beat you or even kill you with little to no legal consequences a reason to do so. If that cops having a bad day and you even slightly annoy them. Your probably going to have a worse one.

and at the end of the day, you are a still a white flag waving supremacist spreading lies –and even the people whose a’s you kiss (the police) don’t want your support and wish people like you would shut the up

When I got the news at what happened in McKinney, Texas when the cops came and made things worse for the children especially with Officer Casebolt, who resigned, slammed a fourteen year old girl on the ground, I was angry, shocked and felt sorry for the children. Especially for the young girl. This incident tells me that race still plays a role on how others are treated and perceived in society.
A young nineteen year old girl, Tatyanna Rhodes planned this pool party and sent out invitations over social media. She invited many of her friends and they came even though there should have only been two people per pool pass. An innocent day at a pool party where children would enjoy their summer vacation was immediately interrupted.
A security guard and White woman started to yell at the Black children and called them the n word and tell them to go back to Section 8 Housing. The White woman started grabbing the child’s hair and things started to get out of control. The police was called and the children started to run around the place as the cops came. Officer Casebolt put all the Black boys on the grass while the other cops tried calm down the kids. Then Officer Casebolt came to the teenage girl, slammed her to the ground, pulled her hair and put her face on the grass and put his knee on her back for a few minutes. Then he got off of her while a cop arrested her. Officer Casebolt walked over to the frightening and confused Black boys on the grass and started to ”scold” them as the boys started to speak about the incident.
As for the White woman who started the whole incident, she was escorted by the police to her car.
I summed up the story based on my own research and what I saw in the video.
A young, White male teen by the name of Brandon Brooks filmed the video. Here is the young man who filmed the previous video on this video.

Overall, this incident also showed me that Black women aren’t guaranteed the same protection under the law as White women are. If that teenage girl was White, she would have never been slammed to the ground by Officer Casebolt like that because White women are protected by their communities and by the media. Black women are seen as loud, masculine, aggressive and aren’t worthy of that same protection that White women take for granted. Thus Officer Casebolt took advantage of a frightened, teenage Black girl and slammed her on the ground like that because he knew that he wouldn’t get much outrage for his actions against her. Because after all, she is a bad, Black bitch who deserved that was coming to her….well in the eyes of racists like Officer Casebolt.

that fool rolled like he was imitating a superhero or something, who does that smh. slamming a young girl like that, thank goodness nobody was killed. I hate that they had to experience this, they learned that u can’t do what ur white friends do first hand. Then there is the media making it like she was a grown woman and not a teenager. People criticizing how the kids reacted but not criticizing the way a grown male acted towards them, a grown male with training, weapons, and more strength than a teen girl. If u think she deserved this treatment by a man bigger than her but were defending George Zimmerman and saying oh Trayvon was bigger than George , u are without a doubt a racist.
Then there’s the people that will say well the teens shouldn’t have done this or did that. How would u feel if a grown man was pushing ur friend to the ground? They are teens so their mind isn’t fully developed, they reacted without fully thinking, that’s what kids do. But I guess people expect black kids to know how to act fresh outta the womb, so u expect them to be as cognizant and responsible as an adult , but on the flip side ppl also view black kids as dumb, well which is it?
In a way I am proud that the young men tried to interfere, parents always tell their kids to intervene if they see something being done wrong to somebody, but the moment they do they get criticized for it. it is nice to see there are ppl willing to try to look out for each other in this system and that there are black males that will try to protect black women and girls, but system tries to take that away.
