Well in the Netherlands there was the shooting of Rishi Chandrikasingh, A guy who is said to have said “I HAVE A GUN” to an Englishman he bullied. That is the sort of thing cops think they have to assume you are honest about, for obvious reasons. So guns were drawn, three cops, one NOT wearing a uniform went to him according basic procedure and Rishi ran away (according to the most experienced cop of the three, normal suspects never do that with three armed cops and was perceived as grabbing a dark object from a pocket, (not proven beyond a doubt, but his phone was found in a location making it likely) and the cop with the most recent experience with a potential copkiller shot, according procedure at his upper legs (Not withstanding some false claims made by US cops, there are police forces in the world training to do that, practice shooting with live opponent and special gun, two in the legs, one in the chest, for instance), but he missed and the bullet wounded the poor kid fatally in the neck. It’s different and the same at the same time.

I pains me to see the list of people with mental illness. I preach that we all need to get healthier as a society which means changing the diet to a variety of nuts and produce. It ain’t easy nor accessible but you can actually begin to heal and prevent some of these things within a generation.

While there are some police who are thugs in a uniform and may have a prejudiced opinion of certain minorities that would encourage them to react a certain way in a situation, most of the time police men do not shoot to kill, but to protect, they are faced in a do or die situation and have to act on their first gut instinct, unfortunately a lot of unnecessary deaths occur out of this and sadly this will always happen
I know certain minorities think that certain groups are targeted but that is disputable as there have been many Caucasians who have died in these same occurrences, often when the situation where a victim is black and the police shooter is white,we immediately assume race was behind it when in fact it may not have anything to do with it.
I’d like to think that the American police force in particular do not have a vendetta against minorities and most act on the greater good.

Thanks to Dave I have seen many websites listing all those killed by cops and unfortunately the majority are black. So I woukd have to say it seems blacks are targeted and I have a few theories on why. white victims are no where near close. In fact in order for sites to be doing new postings every week or every day tells me that this is not a some cop issue.
These corrupt cops are actually getting promoted and becoming an instrument in training and molding the innocent cops. Those type of mindsets spread like a virus. In the Eric Gardner it was revealed on a site for cops to vent that many of them hold racist views. We the people sweep it under the rug as some, but it is the same some song that has allowed racism to continue to spread. There is no accountability and we can only blame ourselves.

I have been researching these numbers due to the amount of unarmed men being killed by police and the numbers are so frightening you are left speechless. Every year over 500 innocent people are killed by police, since 9/11 over 5,000 innocent people have been murdered by the cops, In that same time a total of 60,000 people had been shot by cops and 67% of them have been Black. In many cities the percentage of Black men shot compared to whites is just short of premeditated murder. In a few places the percentage of Blacks killed in comparison to whites was 100.
Do you want to know what the scariest part of these numbers is, they are based on only 17 percent of the nations police departments and they only include justifiable shootings, they do not include undetermined or mistaken shootings. There is not a national data base for reporting and collecting police officer shootings, plain and simple. However there are plenty of data bases and data collecting regarding officers who are shot by suspects. How many people are actually shot or shot and killed by police is actually unknown. The FBI has a collection of data and many will post it and say here it is right here but again that is only based on 17% of all police departments, the largest departments but still only 17%.
I would challenge the white population who are not bothered by these numbers and the fact that Blacks make up only 14% of the population but account for 67% of the those shot by cops, INCLUDING INNOCENT UNARMED SUSPECTS for those of you who like to correlate criminal activity with skin color. I would challenge them to imagine if the city where they live in was mostly Black and the all Black police force had just shot and killed another innocent unarmed white teenager, another in a city where only 14% of the population was white but 70% of the police shootings are of white young men. What if the child or man was your next door neighbors son and your child was his best friend, he grew up in your backyard, you knew him like a son, you knew he was a good kid, an innocent harmless boy and he was just riddled with bullets by a Black cop who was claiming he was afraid for his life, even though the department had never even suffered one single loss of an officers life.
Where does the FEAR come from? It’s not from loss of life; last year only 100 law enforcement persons lost their life in the line of duty compared to over 900,000 sworn officers, that’s not counting the hundreds of thousands of volunteers. Half of those officers died in automobile related deaths. Wow a real dangerous job, Law Enforcement doesn’t even crack the top ten most dangerous jobs in America. Roofers, fishermen, farmers and pilots have a more dangerous job and are at risk of death much more than cops. If it truly is a fear of someone coming at them or reaching for a gun then why aren’t the numbers more dispersed in terms of skin color? A white man can reach for a gun as easily as a Black man, a white suspect can pull out a gun as fast as a Black man and yet white officers, and even some Black officers, shoot more Black men for no apparent reason other than they are BLACK. There is ZERO proof that law enforcement is at risk of being killed when they shoot unarmed innocent men and they should have face the same punishment as the rest of us. Not to mention that the numbers of officers killed in the line of duty has been dropping drastically year after year with the drop in crime. Fear is the right wings master, it determines their politics, it causes them to violate their religious doctrine, it has them pointing fingers at the innocent while the guilty robs them blind. Racism is just another product of fear. There are 2.6 million Muslims living in the U.S. and yet there have only been a few terror attacks by Muslims in all the history of this country. Conservative whites have convinced themselves that Muslims are to be feared with almost zero evidence of this. The facts are that MOST of the terror attacks in this country are carried out by white CHRISTIANS, they have committed 80% more terrorist attacks than Muslims…..So tell me, where is the FEAR? Why do whites not fear CHRISTIAN TERRORIST? Because it’s not what they are told or manipulated to believe, instead they have their minds focused on dark skinned Muslims and no amount of reality, film, testimony or eyewitness will sway their opinion because fear is a powerful emotion…Only someone with equal or more COURAGE can defeat their FEAR…Are you courageous? Try it, you will find it much more rewarding and make so many more friends.

why do whites not fear christian terrorists? you could also ask why do nigerians not face christian terrorists? because they have boko haram but know christian terrorists. the same in central africa, east atria, near east, middle east, europe, russia, india, china.
and why do whites fear blacks? because blacks in the USA are 7 times more likely than whites to kill somebody. Because much, much more whites/asians/hispanics get beaten up, raped, killed by blacks than the other way round, how you can check in every statistic.

“Because much, much more whites/asians/hispanics get beaten up, raped, killed by blacks”—I am not really sure how you can check for Hispanics seeing as the FBI does not distinguish between the two. So I hope you are not alarmed when I ask for your source. Particularly seeing as stats have stated whites are more likely to be victims of other whites.

The title is prejudicial in claiming all those listed were “Killed by the NYPD in 2013” when a number died as a result of their own physical conditions such as heart attack, asthma and alcohol seizure or actions such as choking on drugs they were trying to hide and clipped by a train while running from cops.
The only unarmed persons killed by police were 3 people hit by police cars including a fleeing motorcyclist and two pedestrians. My cursory look suggests the real issue of police misconduct may be the two pedestrians who were struck. If police were speeding with their lights off as witnesses claim then that should go down as negligent homicide. Are there not motion cameras in the intersections to give some indication how often police speed?

Yeah..I suppose blacks are targeted more but I suppose Mexicans or Hispanics will say the same thing, its not always police thing ,its a people thing, outside the uniform these are normal people who harbor racist views just like the neighbor who says hi, every morning but has the same mindset because of the way she was brought up only her views are hidden or the white colleague at work that knows many minorities but seemingly at her 500 member wedding there wasn’t one black face invited-racism has many different faces,
Although these victims were black-we still can’t be sure it was because of their race,as when its a white police on a white victim, you never need assume racism because they are the same color, immediately a black person is shot or killed and its main motivator was racism.
However I would say that certain members of the police department in America definitely has a prejudiced view towards blacks that makes them likely to react differently then they would with others especially their preconceived ideas of hows black men are portrayed as violent etc…and for this reason black people should tread very carefully when dealing with the police.
Already in UK,the police force have publicly admitted they are institutionally racist.

They all can say they are targeted more, but the data seems to indicate otherwise.
But there is a major difference between a people thing and a police thing. Those racist views and prejudice 9f police are likely the driving force in why they choose to target a certain group but also why the force they choose to exercise on them is so great.
Well my theory is not racism, so much as easy targets. The assumption is poor individuals don’t know their rights. If they don’t know their rights then cops can get away with any type of treatment they see fit.
Even in cases of black cop pulling over a black person, there can be prejudice seen and noticed. Specially if the cop culture they are in has taught them to target blacks. It really boils down to the cop culture.
Thing about it is that it seems to not matter how blacks tread. I just watched a video of a man sitting in a public location get harassed by cops and tasered because he refused to give them his name. They put that man through all that and ended up dropping the charges. I think it is best to say avoid the police a all cost.

The enemy will see one “white” face out of this bunch and use it as justification to deny racism and profiling. Then will come the excuses; “We don’t know what really happened/the shoulda cooperated”, etc. And when they realize their racism is showing, they revert back to the usual rebuttal attempts.
The “I got Black friends/content of character – color of skin/Irish Slavery/Jew ‘holocaust'” bit. I’m not wasting time giving benefit of the doubt. They messed that up a long time ago. The comments in all brutality-related videos prove this. They. Cannot. Be. Trusted.
At all. And too many of us are denying it. Won’t be satisfied until Brad or Becky cracks some racist “joke”. That stuff gives them away.
They don’t like us. No need to pretend they’re trustworthy. They are, after all, family and kin to these murderous terrorist pigs. But keep denying it. I’ll be preparing for my self defense should I need it.

According to the FBI’s most recent homicide statistics back in 2011, the most recent year for which data is available, 83 percent of white murder victims were killed by fellow Caucasians. So there goes your entire theory.
I knew some one would mention the color of a mans skin as causation for crime when in fact it has been proven time and time again that a mans skin color has NOTHING to do with why they commit crime or murder. A mans propensity for crime or violence is based on several factors but ultimately can be summed up as ones life experiences. Poverty, environment, oppression, parental involvement, etc, etc…

I beleive the police represent the attitudes of the neighborhoods they come from…there are some racist white communities in New York, a d I mean disgustingly racist…and , there is a huge cultural fault line, especialy against the black community, but it includes the Portorican community also…
I dont know why the Italian community harbors so much black racism in New York , but, some of the more vile racist remarks against blacks and Portoricans, can be heard by Italians in New York , and I dont think that represents Italians…the Irish have the Draft Riots as history, where many Irish imigrantes, fearing being drafted in the civil war , thinking it was to free the slaves , went on violent rioting killing many blacks…of course other whites jumped in….
People shouldnt think this is a USA problem, that is a mistake , its a legacy of slavery , and cultural fault lines in all the Americas that brought slaves…
São Paulo police , in Brazil, kill more people than all police killings in the USA added together, and most people killed are black and brown and because of these same societal cultural racist fault lines from the legacy of slavery,

You know I have wondered that same question in my life; why are Italians racist towards Blacks, why are Hispanics racist against Blacks and why are Blacks always fighting with Hispanics, etc., when it seems that whites have treated them all poorly and they should all have a common dislike for whites instead of each other, you know the enemy of my enemy is my friend sort of thing. My theory is that in the past the world was convinced that white people were superior to all other people and whites acted like it, treated others like it and created a world that felt they had to act white to be accepted by whites. This created a competition between people of color or people who weren’t white with each other. Anyway thats the way I have always seen it but I am glad that changes have occurred and being white is no longer the color of choice for the world and more and more the color of choice is the one you are born with…

Personally I don’t live in NY , but I think that is over blown that “Italians in NY don’t like blacks” there are examples of that vise-versa, especially with Spike Lee, he makes them all buffoons in all of his movies.
It’s funny I haven’t heard much of this publically at least until the Eric Garner case. I think people will take one example or a few on all sides and blow that up like “All blacks” or “All italians”. Idk, that’s just my take on it.

William and Dave, having lived in New York, and notice I said Italians in New York, you couldnt help but notice that New York Italians, for sure not all , arnt interested in being politicly correct…and they dish it out on other ethnic groups also, like the Puerto Ricans…I always felt everyone hated everyone, but Bensonhearst and other Italian neighboroods could display viscous racism…I saw it when there were demonstrations passing through those places in that time….
But forget what Im saying and note that Copala in the God Father , and Cotten Club , and Scorscese in Taxi Driver , aluded to it…they were trying to tell us something about the culture they grew up in , and depicted how people they know act
It was a mystery for me also , It seems more in the New York área , but Boston has elements…I played a gig once that Governer Cuomo hosted , and as I packed up, as Koch snooted me , Cuome came over to shake my hand , and I thought it was a nice jester…That is how I really think of Italians ….
I did play for a lot of Mafia run joints in , Chicago and New York….in Ohio, a singer I was on tour with got in bad with a mob owner,at a club, and they kicked us out, the next day we were told to remove our equipment, and two huge huge guys were sitting there to give us an implicated message what would happen to our equipment if we didnt get it out…that was a weird tour….we hit Vegas too…badabing
