Remarks:
Sade’s first new song in eight years. It sounded strange when I first heard it, but it has grown on me. Hardly one of her best, but I like it. It is already up to #15 on the American R&B chart – way better than “Is It a Crime”, which I featured in this space two weeks ago.
Lyrics:
I’ve lost the use of my heart
But I’m still alive
Still looking for the life
The endless pool on the other side
It’s a wild wild west
I’m doing my best
I’m at the borderline of my faith,
I’m at the hinterland of my devotion
In the frontline of this battle of mine
But I’m still alive
I’m a soldier of love.
Every day and night
I’m soldier of love
All the days of my life
I’ve been torn up inside (oh!)
I’ve been left behind (oh!)
So I ride
I have the will to survive
In the wild wild west,
Trying my hardest
Doing my best
To stay alive
I am love’s soldier!
I wait for the sound
(oooh oohhh)
I know that love will come (that love will come)
Turn it all around
I’m a soldier of love (soldier of love)
Every day and night
Sade Soldier Of Love lyrics found on

I am lost
But I don’t doubt (oh!)
So I ride
I have the will to survive
In the wild wild west,
Trying my hardest
Doing my best
To stay alive
I am love’s soldier!
I wait for the sound
I know that love will come
I know that love will come
Turn it all around
I’m a soldier of love
I’m a soldier

Still waiting for love to come
Turn it all around
Still waiting for love to come

My reaction is pretty much the same as yours. I didn’t care too much for it at first listen, but somehow it is growing on me. Maybe that’s a good thing though when that happens. Often the catchy songs that instantly get stuck in your head are the ones you get sick of the quickest. I think it was that military drum beat that kinda put me off initially. Like you said, not her best song, but I’m starting to like it more and more.

I don’t know what y’all talking about. I love the record when I first heard it. Maybe I was just desperate for something refreshing since music is not very good today. I think this song is different from Sade but still has Sade’s sound in it. This is woman still looks great!

I love this song or anything else by Sade. She has always been someone to look up to for me. She is timeless and looks great. And still has her sleek and slim shape.
Good job!

Thank you, Dani!
I love this song. Excellent arrangement. Sade’s gift is that they find so many new ways to sound the same. It’s timeless, never trendy. I can’t wait until Feb. 9, four great releases come out: Sade, Massive Attack, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Gil Scott Heron. What’s even better is that three of those four will be pressed on vinyl!

Just heard, her new album made it to the No1 in USA,
is that true?
if so, I am so happy for her, she deserves it, at least the chart won’t be only full of pseudo artists ( Bey, Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga and the alike…)
Did anyone buy her album? How is it? Sure good!
She still looks good, killer body! she hasn’t changed, she still has this cool and sensual vibe,
I love her.
