Meagan Good (1981- ) is an American actress and beauty. She was named for an NAACP Image Award for playing Cisely Baptiste in “Eve’s Bayou” (1997). But despite her beauty and talent, she mostly winds up playing supporting characters. She has yet to play the lead in a film that makes it big.
She is one of four children of a Los Angeles police officer, growing up in Canyon Country north of the city. She is part black, Cherokee Indian, Puerto Rican and Jewish. Her father’s father came from Barbados.
She started acting at age four in television ads. In her very first ad she had to skate but did not know how! She was in ads for Barbie, AT&T, Pringles, Burger King, etc. But it was not till much later, when she saw Danielle Harris in “Halloween 4” (1988) and “Halloween 5” (1989), that she knew she wanted to be an actress.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s she guest starred in over a dozen television shows, like “Moesha”, “The Steve Harvey Show” and “Touched by an Angel”.
She started getting into films too. When she was hired for “Eve’s Bayou” she was just 16 and pretty much unknown. But after that she started getting steadier television work: she was Nina on “Cousin Skeeter” (1998-2000) on Nickelodeon and Katie on “Raising Dad” (2001-2002) on the WB. She was Vanessa, Junior’s girlfriend, for five episodes of “My Wife and Kids” in 2003 but then was suddenly replaced by Brooklyn Sudano for reasons unclear. After that she gave most of her attention to film acting.
She has been in some well-known films, but almost always as a supporting character. None of the films she has starred in has been a big hit, though some have done well, like “Stomp the Yard” (2007). She has yet to take off as an actress.
Her dream come true would be to play Aaliyah:
I really, really want to do Aaliyah’s life story; I was a huge fan of hers. I think she’s such a positive role model. She really kind of handled the industry with such class and such respect for herself. Even though there are things that you may have heard, here or there, the way that she handled it and the way that she was, was just so classy and so beautiful.
She has also been in music videos, like 5o Cent’s “21 Questions” (2003) and has made the cover of King magazine, entering the whole video vixen world through her acting, which is the opposite way of how most do it.
She is much better known for her looks than her acting. It is not too hard to find websites that have over a thousand pictures of her!
She has black hair, high cheekbones, thick lips, beautiful eyes and a thin but nice figure. She is 5 foot 4 (1.63 m) tall. Her measurements are 36-24-34 (91-61-86 cm) and has a waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) of 0.71.
According to at least Internet rumour she has dated Jamie Foxx (he denies it), Joseph Gordon, Nick Cannon, Ty Hodges, Thomas Jones and Soulja Boy.

i always thought she was beautiful and she is a good actress. i would love to see her in leading roles, like many other black actresses instead of getting supporting roles all the time.

She’s currently in a serious relationship with NFL player Thomas Jones.
I don’t ever know her to be linked to Soulja Boy or most of those other guys. Where’d you get those names from? That “Whocelebsdate” site?
She’s traditionally African American, in that she is predomin. African. Many celebs, especially the black ones, try to play up or their distant admixture in an attempt to seem more “exotic”. Models are famous for this.

I don t why they always feel the need to claim a white asian or jewish now( remember the creolism of beyonce with her french blood, the chinese grandmother with tyson beckford and I can say many others, in fact to me they still look, I mean Megan Goode is pretty sure but if you drop her off in some country in Affrica without weave and makeup nobody will see the difference.
of course you can be proud of your roots and celebrate them , but sometimes with some black celebrities I do feel they believe , saying that make them different and more acceptable for white people

Nubiah,
To be fair, Beyonce is well documented as being creole, which isn’t a stretch if you think about the wide range of looks within that heritage (from Suzanne Malveaux to RnB singer Lloyd). As for Meagan Good, I heard a long time ago that she was half Puerto Rican. Not saying that I believe that, but it isn’t a stretch either. Not all Puerto Ricans look like JLo. Quite a few are lighter, and a hell of a lot more are darker. Tego Calderon is Afro Puerto Rican and wears it proudly. So, just because you claim something else, doesn’t mean you don’t claim being black. I’m mixed with a lot of shit (YAY SLAVERY!), but I’m black first.

I agree whole heartedly with Nubiah.
Beyonce’s MOTHER is of the Creole culture. To be fair, I wouldn’t say that Beyonce is a traditionally Creole. She’s more traditionally black American. I think some people call her “Creole” and play that up because of how she looks. If Knowles looked more like Kelly Rowland, no one would bring up her Creole mother (which is still black BTW). Knowles’ background is common for blacks in Houston, TX. About half of the blacks there are Louisiana transplants. Many have Creole backgrounds.
About Meagan, she is sexy. I like the girl next door vibe she possesses.
I lived in Connecticut, which has the largest Puerto Rican population in the U.S. (they beat out NY!). Being PR is not a race, by far. Some were Nordic. Some were Meditterrian. Some were predom. African, which made many of them physically indistinsigble from black Americans. Most appeared “mulatto” meaning Afro-Iberian.

most black americans are a little bit mixed, but most people in general are mixed…but i don’t go around saying i’m part irish-english and african when i’m probably no more mixed than the average black american. Its get on my nerves, the only reason I even had the curiosity to explore my admixture was because I know now that probably my ancestors got raped and i get tired of people denying our history as black americans, but other than that…what’s the point of throwing in that extra stuff? I look black, I go to west africa, nigeria or wherever and I’ll be recognized as black…i get sick of some bp always throwing in extra stuff in their lineage, like it makes you more acceptable or better or whatever…when are people going to start claiming their african-ness which is mostly what we are…

it just irritates me to no end. the only time i will even bring up admixture is when talking about slavery because in all liklihood that’s where our european ancestry came from. we did our lineage test and the admixture test said my people about 3/4 w. african and about 25% is european, so i don’t really know where people came up with the 12% stat or whatever,i believe its a bit greater than that on average at least 17-20% i’d say,but it doesn’t show through in me anyway so whatever. but that’s the only time its brought up because i’m a firm believer that you can’t change history and DNA doesn’t lie. but why add in other stuff just to be cool that annoys me…

Your admixture results are about average for a black American.
But I agree, black Americans like all descandants of slaves in the western world are vastly African and should truly celebrate it. Why wouldn’t you? Slaves built the U.S.; Africa is the mother of civilization and hell, modern day Native Africans are so prosperous in the U.S. and abroad.
All in all, I think Aba’s description of Good’s ethnic origins is kind of silly, even if he is quoting her. “Part black”? C’mon now. Would you describe Oprah Winfrey, who admixture test showed some moderate Native American results, as such? I doubt it.

you see, look at that. That’s the type of thing that gets on my nerves. whenever you have an attractive black female people always want to bring up her supposed admixture or how she’s only hot because she’s not REALLY black. that gets on my nerves. i never see people bring up the admixture when it comes to white/asian women that are attractive. furthermore again i say most black americans you’re going to find something in their lineage in all liklihood european due to our history, so it really doesn’t make one bit of difference. sorry slavery was a bitch, so its not uncommon for a black american to be a little mixed. but what’s wrong with being just black, why can’t people be just black and proud…

Yeah I agree. I do not get this insatiable need to proclaim all kinds of non-black blood mixed in. Really, who the heck cares? Throw Miss Goode in the middle of a busy African street and she will totally blend in – sure she is pretty with curves but so are many African women. She does not IMO look any less African than say Nigerian model Oluchi. I recall a Kerry Washington interview I read where mention was made of how her high cheekbones are a result of her native American ancestry – I was like WTF!! The inference being that Africans do not have high cheekbones??! Or that if you are good looking you must have something else mixed in because no way can an African be goodlooking? Slavery has really done a number on AA; the damage of which will take generations to fully erase.

I also hate the fallacy that if you’re light skinned your automatically more mixed than other blacks, not true either. I’m what some might consider a little light, but my brother is milk chocolate and my admixture is the same as his lol..1/4 european and 75% w.african, so that has nothing to do with it either.

Color me ignorant but I always thought that high cheekbones were seen as a “stereotypical black” feature? Wow, Africans aren’t supposed to have thos either? Don’t these people know that we all descend from Africa, essentially? This is proven by the boundless range of phenotypes found amongst the native people on the continent.
Monica, you’re right on the “light skinned” thing. The majority of light-complexioned blacks aren’t any more mixed than your everyday black person. The majority also do not have European features at all. In fact, they’re rather “Negroid”. I’m glad someone else notices that.

It s really for that, I truly invite the Afro diaspora to go in Africa and see what whites and some black believe it’s wrong.
We are so diverse in the features, skin and eyes color and hair , these depend which tribe u are from. After that , I think some black women will be proud of African blood and not always think it s associated with ugly.
I don’t understand why some people think mixed race are so different , most of time they look like a 100%( halle Berry)

Well, Nubiah, I’m Ghanaian American. I was born in the States but I know quite a lot about the original continent because well, I lived it. My family is a testament of the vast diversity that is Africa, both phenotypically and culturally.
That’s why it annoys me to no end when people(Americans; non-Native Africans) go on about “African culture” and “African features” when their knowledge of Africa is derived from CNN and outdated, biased textbooks.
Ignorance is bliss but I can inform people of the truth and hope that spreads on. This is not only true about the mother continent but about many other cultures and parts of the world.

I love ghanaian culture. Men and Women are gorgeous( specially these last ones)and they are very educated. God I have to marry one.
I also think Anglophone Africa is culturally more African( look at South Africa or Nigeria and Ghana).
Maybe bcz the colinization was a little bit different and people are more together ,in my point of view of course.
So now, I do understand why I agreed with most (all) of you comments. Maybe I felt the ghanaian vibe( just kidding).
As we say in french( Vive le Ghana)

All of you are ignorant, all of you are sitting there saying why can’t pretty black models just claim being of African heritage, and you’re all saying that all black people are a little mixed because of slavery(which I and Everyone with common sense would know)…BUT with people such as Beyonce or Meagan Good maybe..just maybe they aren’t making up being mixed with other races or just throwing in races from ancestors who were raped and all of that….maybe Meagan Good has Puerto Rican from a great great Grandmother or a great great Grandfather?…NO, you all are forced to believe she’s just throwing in extra races because she doesn’t wanna claim being black/african, you all just don’t want to believe a pretty actress/model is mixed and not fully black…which most people aren’t FULLY one race. Yes, I know many African women are pretty and I do think we should be proud of our Black/African heritages, but if somebody, such as Meagan Good or Beyonce wants to celebrate and be proud of ALL of their heritages….you should let them instead of being negative and saying their just throwing in other blood besides black because they want to look cool, or please white people, or just making it up. And I don’t know why you all care that some models/actresses/singers claim other things besides black/african culture, because I can think of a few that are considered to be black because of skin color when they’re not of african desent. I really hope all of you stop and think about this.
oh and btw I heard on tv in the next 100-200 years most people in the world are going to be most likely mixed with many races and there won’t be to many people of 1-3 different races. I bet all of you would HATE that huh?….because then people would be claiming all races and not just black/african. LOL
btw if you have a problem with me saying this…I am BLACK and I’m proud, I’m just tired of the ignorant black people like you saying ignorant ass things making the rest of us look stupid.
