Hillary Clinton’s paid speeches (fl. 2013-2014) were 94 speeches she gave after she was US Secretary of State. She made $22 million. Many were given in secret, behind closed doors to the likes of Goldman Sachs, a big Wall Street bank.
She spoke in secret to:
- Fidelity Investments,
- KKR,
- Carlyle Group,
- Goldman Sachs (at least twice),
- Morgan Stanley,
- General Electric,
- Global Business Travel Association,
- National Association of Convenience Stores,
- Vancouver Board of Trade’s Women’s Leadership Circle,
- Society for Human Resource Management.
Among others.
She allowed the press at:
- U.S. Green Building Council,
- United Fresh Produce Association,
- National Automobile Dealers Association,
- Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries.
The speeches were booked by the Harry Walker Agency.
In 2016, when she ran for president, there were calls to make her speech to Goldman Sachs public. She refused.
On October 7th 2016, a 5,000-word email that seems to have been sent within her campaign was made public by WikiLeaks. It has excerpts from her speeches, some to Goldman Sachs. The Clinton campaign neither confirms nor denies whether the email is real.
There were no bombshells, nothing like Romney’s “47%” or Trump’s “grab them by the …” There are no secret promises to Wall Street, nothing about reptilian overlords. At least not in what WikiLeaks has made public so far.
What she did say:
- Dreams of a common market for the Americas with “open trade and open borders”.
- Favours the Keystone pipeline.
- Favours Simpson-Bowles (cut taxes on big business by raising the Social Security age).
- Wants to move the US as close as possible to universal health care.
- Believes in green energy and wants the US and Canada to lead on climate change.
- Hates Citizens United, which puts no limits on campaign contributions.
- Is a friend to big banks, but they have to accept new rules to prevent another 2008 and to regain public trust.
- Remembers what it is like to be middle-class.
To Goldman Sachs:
“I do think there is a growing sense of anxiety and even anger in the country over the feeling that the game is rigged. And I never had that feeling when I was growing up. Never.”
and:
“New York is probably the leading site for contributions for fundraising for candidates on both sides of the aisle, and it’s also our economic center. And there are a lot of people here who should ask some tough questions before handing over campaign contributions to people who were really playing chicken with our whole economy.”
On politics, to the National Multi-Housing Council:
“I mean, politics is like sausage being made. It is unsavory, and it always has been that way, but we usually end up where we need to be. But if everybody’s watching, you know, all of the back room discussions and the deals, you know, then people get a little nervous, to say the least. So, you need both a public and a private position. … I want to know what the facts are. … You try to figure out what’s going to work and what’s not going to work.”

I wouldn’t characterize her as “hating” Citizen United.
It has served her well this campaign.
“I would like it not to be so expensive. I have no idea how you do that. I mean, in my campaign – I lose track, but I think I raised $250 million or some such enormous amount, and in the last campaign President Obama raised 1.1 billion, and that was before the Super PACs and all of this other money just rushing in, and it’s so ridiculous that we have this kind of free for all with all of this financial interest at stake, but, you know, the Supreme Court said that’s basically what we’re in for. So we’re kind of in the wild west, and, you know, it would be very difficult to run for president without raising a huge amount of money and without having other people supporting you because your opponent will have their supporters. So I think as hard as it was when I ran, I think it’s even harder now.”
The below quote is from the Interceptor.
“The crux of the Citizens United ruling was that a legal ban on independent corporate campaign expenditures constituted a limit on political speech without sufficient justification, and thus violated the First Amendment’s free speech guarantee. A primary argument of the Obama Justice Department and Democrats generally in order to uphold that campaign finance law was that corporate expenditures are so corrupting of the political process that limits are justified even if they infringe free speech. In rejecting that view, this was the key argument of Justice Anthony Kennedy, writing for the five-judge conservative majority (emphasis added):”
“For the reasons explained above, we now conclude that independent expenditures, including those made by corporations, do not give rise to corruption or the appearance of corruption.”
“Does that sound familiar? It should. That key argument of the right-wing justices in Citizens United has now become the key argument of the Clinton campaign and its media supporters to justify her personal and political receipt of millions upon millions of dollars in corporate money: “Expenditures, including those made by corporations, do not give rise to corruption or the appearance of corruption” — at least when the candidate in question is Hillary Clinton.”
And then their is the 55 million dollar Super Pac dedicated towrds going after third party canidates Stien and Johnson.

It appears that some of the emails leaked show that some Israeli donors worked with Hillary Clinton to form her positions on Isreal.
“Wikileaks published 2000 emails from Hillary Clinton campaign chair John Podesta; and they show Stu Eizenstat, former deputy secretary of treasury under Bill Clinton, acting as the ambassador for Israel and the Jewish community to Clinton.”
“And everything Clinton has said on Israel and Palestine and the boycott movement in the last year, from saying she’d meet with Netanyahu in her first month in office, to opposing BDS (boycott, divestment and sanctions), to taking the Israel relationship to the “next level,” Eizenstat appears to have scripted.”

LOL. The fact that she takes completely different positions before Wall Street than the positions she takes on the campaign trail is a bombshell.
“Dreams of a common market for the Americas with “open trade and open borders””
She bragged about voting “numerous times” in favour of a Mexican “barrier”: (https://youtu.be/AlFi0QUboxs), a public position she’s taken for most of her political career.
“Favours the Keystone pipeline.”
When she ran as a fake progressive against Bernie, she said she opposed it: (https://youtu.be/H15oqszCtq4)
“Favours Simpson-Bowles (cut taxes on big business by raising the Social Security age)”
Except when she said she was against raising the retirement age: (https://youtu.be/sWkLaAmyNGc)
“Wants to move the US as close as possible to universal health care.”
Except when she lambasted Bernie for taking that position, before she flip flopped on it again. (https://youtu.be/XNhEewwYtz4)

That she is really reptilian and has people assainated.
One conspiracy theory out there is that the Clinton’s and Trump’s are really in collusion to get Hillary elected.
Like the link that Nomad left some propagandists take the emails out of context and equate quotes from donners as quotes from Hillary.
What has come out is the DNC liked the idea of Trump running before Trump announced his candidacy as they underestimated how popular he would become. They requested the media to pay attention to him. The emails also show that they broke down the remaining canidates as being pied piper or establishment. Rand Paul had his own category as being a “different” Repblican and it was he the DNC feared most.

Trump’s protectionist economics isn’t generating Wall Street donors for obvious reasons so some are going to Hillary and to down line Republican canidates.
She should release her Wall Street transcripts for full transparency. In fact all political donations including packs should be transparent.
Citizens United was based on “free speech” which I Interpet as open speech and public. Complete transparency in donations means exposing where the “dark money” comes from and who the donors are.

According to Intercept reporter, Zaid Jilani,

All the emails, including the Wall Street snipets, reveal what was already suspected. Media collusion, pay for play donors, the DNC working with the Clinton campaign to suppress Sanders run and a canidate that was scripted and molded by the positions of her donors. She has general principles within liberal idiology but the specifics are up for sale. Her comment about open boarders and global trade mirrors the Koch brother CATO institute. That’s a third way, libertarian position and that seems to be her personal view.
Their are plenty of reasons to hate Clinton but when it comes down to who I want to be president she is a safer bet then Trump. I know what I am getting with her. I believe that’s Abagond’s position. Trump is the greater threat particularly to people who are not American born as well as too those who are not white.
Trump is the authortarian, who wants to take the country backwards both socially and economically. He has the greater potential towards heavy handed facisim.
It’s not relevant whether the emails came through Russian channels or not. That seems to be the media deflection. From what I can see the media seems to want to obsess over Trump’s twitter and pretend the email dump is just a Russian ploy. I don’t think Clinton is going to loose much over the emails. It is amazing how you write endlessly about HRClinton and her criminality, yet not one word of condemnation about Trump.
Trump is a spoiled world class liar who has stolen from all of his non-Mafia business associates; bankers, vendors and employees. He is not even a bonafide billionaire. He lives on bank credit, licensing fees, the remnants of his trust fund and whatever he can steal from others.
He is terrified of publicizing his taxes because he hasn’t filed or paid federal income taxes in over a decade.
He is a sexual predator who has raped his own wife and sexually assaulted numerous women, something you cavalierly referred to as, “grabbing snatch”. (Very classy—–not!)
If the world were a fair place, Trump would spend his days breaking rocks in Federal prison, after he paid restitution to everyone he cheated. The world is not a fair place so we are forced to watch a person with the emotional intelligence of a nine year old run for the presidency of imperial America.
The majority of the commenters on this forum already know that HRClinton is a criminal, a liar and a conwoman. Both candidates are a disgrace. Neither deserves our votes. If Trump’s supporters were not so darn dangerous, I wouldn’t hesitate to vote Green. However, the lives of Black people hang in the balance and Black people matter to me.

Crooked Hillary took precautions in case of public exposure of ‘private’ position on big banks..
“A top aide calculatingly inserted a passage critical of the financial industry into one of Hillary Clinton’s many highly-paid speeches to big banks, “precisely for the purpose of having something we could show people if ever asked what she was saying behind closed doors for two years to all those fat cats,” he wrote in an email posted by Wikileaks.
In late November 2015, campaign speechwriter Dan Schwerin wrote an email to other top aides floating the idea of leaking that passage, which had come in a speech Clinton gave to Deutsche Bank in October 2014 in return for $260,000.
“I wrote her a long riff about economic fairness and how the financial industry has lost its way,” for that purpose, Schwerin wrote. “Perhaps at some point there will be value in sharing this with a reporter and getting a story written. Upside would be that when people say she’s too close to Wall Street and has taken too much money from bankers, we can point to evidence that she wasn’t afraid to speak truth to power.””

If I remember correctly, a common Russian propaganda tactic, on full display here by the Trump Non-Fan Club, is to make both sides seem equally bad. It is done to make people politically apathetic, to lower their expectations, to effectively disempower them.

.
I think you’re missing the point – on purpose. Both sides are NOT “equally bad.” We contend that as bad as Trump is, Clinton is decidedly worse for too many reasons to list here – again.
What sort of empowerment is there for the (non-lobbyist) common citizen barely making ends meet living paycheck to paycheck and on the brink of financial disaster in an oligarchy?? Do you know something about every day Amerikans that I missed??
Politicians don’t have magical enchanted powers and a wand to make the impossible happen. Nowadays, they don’t even have the sense to try to do the right thing.
If you believe that voting can fix what’s wrong with Amerika perhaps I can offer you great discount on a famed bridge in Brooklyn.
Here’s a famous MOVIE speech attributed to Brother Malcolm X.
Read and see if it makes sense:
“…I’m not here this afternoon as a Republican, nor as a Democrat; not as a Mason, nor as an Elk; not as a Protestant, nor a Catholic; not as a Christian, nor a Jew; not as a Baptist, nor a Methodist; in fact, not even as an American, because if I was an American, the problem that confronts our people today wouldn’t even exist.
So I have to stand here today as what I was when I was born: A black man.
Before there was any such thing as a Republican or a Democrat, we were black.
Before there was any such thing as a Mason or an Elk, we were black.
Before there was any such thing as a Jew or a Christian, we were black people!
In fact, before there was any such place as America, we were black!
And after America has long passed from the scene, there will still be black people.
I’m gonna tell you like it really is. Every election year these politicians are sent up here to pacify us! They’re sent here and setup here by the White Man!
This is what they do!
They send drugs in Harlem down here to pacify us!
They send alcohol down here to pacify us!
They send prostitution down here to pacify us!
Why you can’t even get drugs in Harlem without the White Man’s permission!
You can’t get prostitution in Harlem without the White Man’s permission!
You can’t get gambling in Harlem without the White Man’s permission!
Every time you break the seal on that liquor bottle, that’s a Government seal you’re breaking!
Oh, I say and I say it again, ya been had!
Ya been took!
Ya been hoodwinked!
Bamboozled!
Led astray!
Run amok!
This is what He does…. ”
Things have changed a bit since those days. These things no longer only apply to the Negro. It now affects the common Caucasian as well. In effect if Malcolm was alive today, he likely would be talking not only just to Black people, but white people and everyone else.

Nothing uniquely Russian about that tactic. Americans, Dems and Reps, are good at it. Nothing “seeming” about it. Trump is bad. Clinton is bad and arguably worse than Trump. I certainly think so, I’m simply amazed how you minimalize and dismiss her enormous crimes. The only difference (not the only but the main difference) between them… Trump wants to commit war crimes. Hillary already has.

NeoMcCarthyism. ‘Everybody who’s against Clinton is being manipulated by or is an agent of Russia’. Clintonites have completely embraced the conspiracy theory (without proof) that Russia is trying to hijack the election and install Trump, just as the US installs puppet regimes around the world. Common US tactic.

How many times should I repeat myself? Apparently you can conveniently forget them again AND AGAIN whenever you realize your counterpoints are vapid excuses for TWO slippery and slick career world class felons who have dodged, weaved and a whole lot more to avoid justice.
I will however refresh your memory on this:
How’s your research on WIDESPREAD voter fraud coming along??
Have you decided if you’re willing to write a post about how the mass media colludes with government agencies and agendas??

To me voter fraud is a largely fake issue cooked up by Republicans so they can pass voter suppression laws. But since it is not going away any time soon and since it is an important piece of US racism, I will have to write about it at some point, though I will probably end up writing about it from the voter suppression end.
As to the effect of the US government on the press, I have touched on that several times. Mainly here:

Hillary’s has been the crookedest presidential campaign I have ever seen. Subverting the and delegitimizing the MSM, engineering disruption of Trump rallies, faking videos of her own.. I hope Trump doesn’t win but I sure hope he beats Hillary.

Tell that to a young Obama running for President, who said, ““But look, I come from Chicago…so I want to be honest, it’s not as if it’s just Republicans who have monkeyed around with elections in the past. Sometimes, Democrats have, too.”
It’s amazing the short memories people have. So this comic strip should jog your memory:
