“How young is too young to teach kids about race?” (November 4th 2021) is a news article put out by the US television network CBS. It tweeted it with the picture above along with this blurb:
“A culture war has erupted over critical race theory and how schools should grapple with the history of race and racism in America.”
Twitter opined:
Hambone Fakenamington (@SHABINDIGO):
Let’s see…I was 8 or 9 when my mom took my 3 or 4 year old sister and me to the pool in our apartment complex and, as soon as we got in, all the white people took their kids out. That was in the early 90s, supposedly long after America “learned it’s lesson,” but you tell me.
mr. G (and the good trouble). (@invisiblelad007):
Let’s see. The first time my parents had to teach me about race was after an adult told me to “Go back to Africa” at 8. So sometime around then seems appropriate.
Drew Comments (@sjs856):
I was 6 years old when a white classmate called me the N word.
Alissa Bouquet (@Alissa_1014):
I was called a ni**er by another student the first week of Kindergarten. I didn’t even know what it meant. I asked my teacher and she said she didn’t know either.
So while the YTs complain about teaching race, please know that little black children experience it!
Get Vaccinated Now! (@SheIsBlack7):
Watch the Kenneth Clark Doll Test and see how white kids and even black kids themselves, as young as 4 and 5 years old, were selecting white dolls as more beautiful, smart and good, while black dolls were chosen as being ugly, not intelligent, etc. If children that young know…
ok doomer (@wehpudicabok):
Do Black kids get to opt out of experiencing racism until they’re a certain age? No? Then why should white kids get to opt out of having to learn about it?
kristalisbougie (@kristal100):
The same people who don’t want children learning about race have no problem teaching them to be racist.
Maith (@jmflatham):
The white privilege of this headline. Black and brown children live the social impact of their race daily. That CBS thinks it’s a choice to protect white kids but not black and brown kids is institutionalized racism.
Background: Tennessee, the state that gave us the Klan and the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr, has banned teaching anything that would suggest anyone, based on their race or sex, is “inherently privileged, racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or subconsciously,” or would make them feel “discomfort, guilt, anguish, or distress solely because of the individual’s race or sex.” There is a push in about a dozen other states to pass similar laws. All this grows out of:
Republican fearmongering over critical race theory (CRT): It is only taught at grad school, but as right-wing activist Christopher Rufo explains:
“The goal is to have the public read something crazy in the newspaper and immediately think ‘critical race theory.’ We have decodified the term and will recodify it to annex the entire range of cultural constructions that are unpopular with Americans.”

As a history teacher I think it’s critically important that students learn about the truth in all it’s perspectives. It’s almost as though people have forgotten what 1st hand sources are.
I think people are simply better at hiding racism today, which bring to question, is racism in action and speech or only in action?
I think the moment your child is aware of social standards, should be when they’re ready to learn about this pattern that humans have decided to separate themselves by.

“Racism” is a result of a fiction “race,” a hierarchy of human beings created by “white” folks to justify the global economic system of slavery. Only “blacks” who were inferior to “whites” could be enslaved so the justification went. Black inferiority justified enslavement and enslavement begat inferiority so the circular logic went. “White” Supremacy is a system upon which Western Civilization rests. You don’t have to teach kids in the classroom about “race” or “racism.” They may not be able to name it, but it is everywhere throughout the culture. It is just like the air we breathe. any gender differences cause generally esp during that era ,boys didn’t play with dolls.
remarkable how even though anyone can look up the exact meaning for something they don’t know or understand
the Virginia election was allegedly won on a fabricated lie
that was exposed as such
on a national news network
by a african american female
yet at least two african american females
involved in the race lead with this lie.
maybe the truth does not matter.
you have racist white people
and black people who fanatically support them.
Malcom x was murdered by the nation of islam in cooperation with the FBI and local police in new york and los angeles.
Maybe because he asked a simple question we all know the answer to.
But we don’t ask why so many black people
side with white people against all black people,
from the black men of the nation of islam who fired the guns that killed malcom x
to Mobutu Sese Seko who stood right beside a white european as he captured and had murdered Patrice Lumumba in a 1965 CIA-backed coup
today black men and women regularly entertain the world by referring to themselves as b–h and n—gr
but if they show the slightest aversion to homosexuality
or a man pretending to be a female and insisting you participate in the charade
then you have to apologize
or risk being cancelled and banned.
the albino mutant portion of our species is quite interesting I wonder what will be their fate.

It’s really intriguing to see a Klan Toddler. That’s basically a karate or taekwondo komodo paired with improvised pillow case as the hood?

I’m not sure about the robe, but that hood is not an improvised pillowcase. It’s made of heavier and stiffer fabric, with a fitted double hem around the crown, and it has a flap in the back. There’s also a separate cape.
According to the link below, the photo was taken in 1992 at a Klan rally in Gainesville, GA:

Having now seen the uncropped photo in high resolution, I don’t believe the robe is a karate gi. The material across the chest looks to be all one solid piece. There’s nothing improvised about this outfit. Someone put in the time, money, and effort to sew it at home.
I really hope the little boy grew up to be a better person than his parents.

Funny how that “minor” fact is left out of all of the wailing and moaning about CRT in public schools.
Republican fearmongering is the result of large multi-racial and multi-national demonstrations against the casual, open murder of George Floyd in 2020. The fact that all types of people participated in those marches and rallies, etc. scared the heck out of your average White supremacist.
Republican fearmongering is par for the course when they face a challenge to their approved public narratives. There is nothing more challenging than the factual information to people who base their society on false histories and myth making.

What do you expect? Whites are the majority in America, so schools cater to them.
In South Africa, little White kids can’t escape hearing racial stuff at a very young age. The whole country revolves around what blacks want. No consideration for Whites whatsoever.
