If I kill a cop it will be because “I feared for my life”:
- because I saw a gun,
- because I thought I saw a gun,
- because he was reaching for a gun that I never saw and was never there,
- because he was approaching me,
- because I heard a sound.
Or, more likely, because I wanted to get out of a traffic ticket. You know, the usual reason.
If I kill a cop, I will not be arrested. Instead the mayor and responsible faith leaders will urge calm to “let the process work”, that process where we do not arrest suspected killers, that one. The one that has worked so well in the past.
If I kill a cop the press will never say, “Abagond killed a cop” or anything close to that. They will leave my name out of it and create as much distance as possible between me and the crime, saying a police officer died from injuries sustained during a citizen involved shooting. Passive voice all the way.
If I kill a cop I will lie and the press will take my lies seriously, like they are six-year-olds. Even if I have to change my lies. It will not cross their minds that as the killer I have every reason to lie.
If I kill a cop the press will dutifully report that the police officer was “no angel”. They will demonize him, not me, the killer. They will report every damaging fact and false accusation about him that they can find from the past 15 years. At least. And if they cannot demonize him directly, they will demonize his family. And all of this will be used to excuse my actions even though I knew none of it since I lack the resources of a city newspaper.
If I kill a cop my employer will give me paid leave of up to one year and my union will pay any court costs. And, depending on press coverage, people on the Internet will give me up to hundreds of thousands of dollars at GoFundMe to help pay for my already-paid-for court costs.
If I kill a cop my friends will carry out a “thorough” investigation. Only after they have gathered all the facts, and maybe destroyed some, will they then interview me so that my lies can fit the facts.
If I kill a cop the grand jury will hear only my side of the story. And it will be done in secret. They will see no evil unless there is damning citizen video or riots that make their city look bad.
If I kill a cop and if it goes to trial, on that off (2%) chance, the jury will be packed with people who will favour me over the cop. And even if it is packed with the sons and daughters of murdered police officers, even then they will have to let me off because I will use their magic words against them: “I feared for my life.”

Colin Kaepernick posted on his social media page that there was no difference between the slave catchers from slavery to the racist cops that are killing black people today. I can’t disagree with that comparison.

Y’know, the UK didn’t have slave patrols and they still have police forces. Just like many other countries who did not practice slavery.
Yes, there are rotten and racist police officers around but the problem is getting rid of them so that you can have a better and more just police force. It’s not the concept of having a police force that is wrong in itself.

A lot of Black people have been shot full of holes while holding remote controls, wallets, sandwiches and cell phones.
The phony “I feared for my life” defense often involves “phantom” weapons.

3 acquittals in 7 days. There are 2 reasons for this: (1) The culture of impunity for law enforcement is a critical component of the American oligarchic psychopathocracy, particularly as the American Empire bends towards total chaos and eventual collapse. (2) The Roger B. Taney/J. Edgar Hoover Syndrome rules:
“The class of persons who had been imported as slaves, nor their descendants… had no rights which the white man was bound to respect.” –Roger B. Taney — The Dred Scott Decision

NO! They will not quit using: “I feared for my life” as a tool to kill an unarmed kneegro. Why quit using a tool that not only benefit the cops and it still works perfectly fine within “the process”?
“If I kill a cop, I will not be arrested. Instead the mayor and responsible faith leaders will urge calm to “let the process work.” – Abagond
In the vast majority of instances, “the process” as a whole, the Mayor’s office, the Prosecutors’ Office are essentially “enablers” of the violent, collective behavior of out of control white law enforcement personnel, who, in most circumstances, evidently harbor personal biases. In short, they give suck to police officers on demand, almost immediately after an officer involved shooting by routinely declaring, “let the process work”! Subsequently, the almost all white jury with perhaps a couple of minorities, quickly peruse the evidence and usually return a default decision of “not guilty.”
Decisions such as the one presented here, including Tamir Rice, Eric Garner and Michael Brown, amongst many others, usually distort reality in addition to a gross failure to comport with the evidence as well.
Because it still holds true that you can externally legislate against someone’s behavior, but you cannot internally legislate against the heart!
Enabler – “Those who habitually enable dysfunctional behavior are often referred to as co-dependent. It’s a telling word, because an enabler’s self-esteem is often dependent on his or her ability and willingness to “help” in inappropriate ways. This “help” allows the enabler to feel in control of an unmanageable situation. The reality, though, is that enabling not only doesn’t help, but it actively causes harm and makes the situation worse.” – Psychologytoday
In my sincere opinion, had it not been for the enabling of criminal behavior of these people, white cops would think twice about being so quick to shoot unarmed Black men. With them knowing that that the support they current have wouldn’t be so concrete in the aftermath, perhaps their behavior would quickly be altered in most instances, but not all together.
In contrast, when the situation presents itself with a white man holding a weapon, behold, white cops suddenly locate within themselves all the patience in the world, to avoid shooting someone who looks like them. If the situation wasn’t so grave, with the reality that currently confront through the targeting of Black men, this would be a perfect, dark script to present by the status quo, in order reveal to us: How Things Would Be if We Were Being Discriminated Against or Persecuted. Sadly, that’s not the case, this is REAL!
Another telling angle of looking at incidents such as these is to ask oneself the following question in contrast: Why aren’t incidences of Black law enforcement personnel’s, frequent shootings of unarmed white men either on par or near equivalent to the shooting of Black men by white officers?
Well, to me, it all swings back to or harkens to Amerika’s violently racist inception by so-called feeble minded Founding Fathers. This country’s establishment was first predicated upon assassinating the Black man’s character and what it means to be a man or an anmal. The ideology of perceiving Black men as being nothing short of being a violent animal was never erased from the mindset of white people. Of course, the failure to do so was intentionally done so by design.
Yes, Black people as a whole do need some type of pathological adjustment when interacting with white people. However, it’s even more important that white people as a groupuscule adjust themselves accordingly in order to cease this sickness of perception and double standards that Black men in particular are animals, in fact, three-fifths of a man in accordance with the U.S. Constitution, even today and our women, mere bed wenches!
African-Americans as individuals are considered three-fifths of a person or that they are three-fifths of a citizen of the U.S., the three-fifths clause (Article I, Section 2, of the U.S. Constitution of 1787) in fact declared that for purposes of representation in Congress, enslaved blacks in a state would be counted as three-fifths of the number of white inhabitants of that state.” – Blackpast
To me, white officers conduct themselves when approaching Black men as if WE exist within a sphere full of, and controlled by muscular Orangutans, ready to attack on a moment’s notice. In short, the mere sight is in fact a qualifying reason to kill. (smh)
The vast majority of you white folks (Esau) are too much!
Here we go, I have an answer for that, as it pertains to perception and violence: Ezekiel 35:5 “Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end:” (KJV)
It may abate from time to time, however, it will never completely STOP!
And last but not least, I have a scripture for these so-called politicians, police officers and Prosecutors’ Office personnel: Matthew 7:5 “Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy (white) brother’s eye.” (KJV) (emphasis added parenthetically are mine)
Even further, it is of my opinion that if you’re white in Amerika, it also appears to be one helluva drug!
I’ve said this before, but it seems as it bears repeating: THE KILLING OF UNARMED BLACK MEN WILL NEVER STOP, so says the Bible!

It’s crazy how police are always getting away with murder saying “I feared for my life”, but if that were a legitimate excuse Ppl should be able to use that same excuse to defend their lives against police. Seriously, are we to believe no one who has ever killed a police officer wasn’t acting in self-defense? Only the courts make it basically illegal to defend your life in an encounter with police, even when they invade your home. A damn shame.

If anything, police should be held to a higher standard than that of the public…As it stands now, police can commit crimes with impunity because, in most situations, they investigate themselves…Behavior that would get an ordinary citizen charged, convicted and incarcerated is routinely ignored by “the powers that be” because police are considered to be “above the law” as the “law” is whatever they say it is, the Constitution be damned…
Ever notice that police unions are “fraternal”? This should tell you something. The “thin-blue-line” is a gang, little different than street gangs–at least when it comes to “covering-up” their questionable and quite often, illegal and criminal behavior.
In today’s day and age, “officer safety” trumps de-escalation of force. This, in part, is due to the militarization of the police along with training in Israeli police tactics. This becomes a problem, with the “us vs. them” attitude that is fosters, along with the fact that Israel is a very different place, being on a constant “war footing”, its police tactics are very different.
There are too many instances of police being “given a pass”, even when incontrovertible video and audio evidence is presented. Grand juries, guided by police-friendly prosecutors, quite often refuse to charge those police officers who abuse their authority.
Police officers, who want to do the right thing, are quite often marginalized and put into harms way, by their own brethren…When a police officer is beating on someone that is already restrained while yelling, “stop resisting” THAT is but one reason police have a “bad name” in many instances…this makes the “good cops” who are standing around, witnessing their “brethren in blue” beating on a restrained suspect, culpable as well…
Here are changes that can help reduce police-induced violence:
1. Get rid of police unions. Police unions (fraternities) protect the guilty, and are responsible for the massive whitewashing of questionable police behavior that is presently being committed.
2. Eliminate both “absolute” and “qualified” immunity for all public officials. This includes, prosecutors and judges, police and firefighters, code enforcement and child protective services officials, and others who deal with the citizenry. The threat of being sued personally would encourage them to behave themselves. Require police officers to be “bonded” by an insurance company, with their own funds. No bond= no job.
3. Any public funds disbursed to citizens as a result of police misconduct should come out of police pension funds–NOT from the taxpayers.
4. Regular drug-testing of police officers as well as incident-based drug testing should take place whenever an officer is involved in a violent situation with a citizen–no exceptions.
5. Testing for steroid use should be a part of the drug testing program. You know damn well, many police officers “bulk up” with the “help” of steroids. Steroids also affect users mentally as well, making them more aggressive. The potential for abuse of citizens increases greatly with steroid use.
6. Internal affairs should only be used for disagreements between individual officers–NOT for investigations involving citizen abuse. State-level investigations should be mandatory for all suspected abuses involving citizens.
7. Prosecutors should be charged with malfeasance IF any evidence implicating police officer misconduct is not presented to the grand jury.
8. A national or state-by-state database of abusive individuals who should NEVER be allowed to perform police work should be established–a “blacklist” of abusive (former) police officers.
9. Most people are unaware that police have special “rules” that prohibit them from being questioned for 48 hours. This allows them to “get their stories straight” and makes it easier to “cover up” bad police behavior. Police must be subject to the same laws as civilians.
10. All police should be required to wear bodycams and utilize dashcams that cannot be turned off. Any police officers who causes a dash or body cam to be turned off should be summarily fired–no excuses. Today’s body and dash cams are reliable enough to withstand harsh treatment. Body and dashcam footage should be uploaded to a public channel “on the cloud” for public perusal.
11. All interrogations must be video and audio recorded. Police should be prohibited from lying or fabricating stories in order to get suspects to confess. False confessions ARE a problem in many departments. Unknown to most people, police can lie with impunity while civilians can be charged with lying to police…fair? I think not…
12. Any legislation passed that restricts the rights of ordinary citizens, such as firearms magazine capacity limits, types of weapons allowed, or restrictive concealed-carry laws should apply equally to police. No special exemptions to be given to police. Laws must be equally applied.
13 “Asset forfeiture” is a form of “legalized robbery under color of law” and must be abolished. We must return to Constitutional principles when it comes to “crimefighting”. The so-called “war on drugs” is actually a “war on the citizenry” and has had an extremely corrosive effect on the Constitutional principles that our country is (supposed to be) founded on.
14. “No-knock” raids must be abolished as they put both police and (especially citizens) in harms way. Even the Nazis “knocked on the door” before gaining entry.
Police work is not inherently dangerous…there are many other professions that are much more dangerous.
A little “Andy Taylor” could go a long way in allaying fears that citizens have of police.
That being said, I have no problem with police officers who do their job in a fair, conscientious manner…however, it is time to call to task those police officers who only “protect and serve” themselves.

Hello Blakksage,
Interesting and passionate reply to the post. You stated:
“In my sincere opinion, had it not been for the enabling of criminal behavior of these people, white cops would think twice about being so quick to shoot unarmed Black men. With them knowing that that the support they current have wouldn’t be so concrete in the aftermath, perhaps their behavior would quickly be altered in most instances, but not all together.”
Yet as you mentioned in the paragraph before this statement; one cannot “legislate the heart,” or I would say a persons beliefs, thoughts and perspectives. Those are intrinsic qualities (though are also externally influenced), that a cop has to develop and find some motivation to change if he or she is open to realizing that they have a racial bias when approaching African-American people. Stopping the enabling will offer much support, and potentially gain some sense of trust in the justice system if these officers are held accountable, but that is the end result and a life is already lost. Given the insight within Abagond’s post, I wouldn’t foresee a quick alteration of their behavior if judicial punishment is the only consequence (though it is still needed). The type of defense employed by copse would just change, partly because of the risk involved in their line of work and in large part due to the justice system being setup to protect them, considering they are an extension of the justice system at the ground level.
“Another telling angle of looking at incidents such as these is to ask oneself the following question in contrast: Why aren’t incidences of Black law enforcement personnel’s, frequent shootings of unarmed white men either on par or near equivalent to the shooting of Black men by white officers?”
This is a compelling argument and there is much insight gleaned in even asking that question. Now from a purely numbers perspective, I would say that you won’t find equity in this comparison because on the whole, there are more white cops in our nation than black ones and that is before you even get into the breakdown of where cops are assigned duty and the ethnic makeup of those environments. This is part of the reason why the white cop/black man narrative can only go so far. Race notwithstanding, this conversation starts with police culture, authority and police mentality. Why don’t we here about more white people being unjustly killed by cops (in general), part of that is media and large part of that is because the injustice aspect of this, comparatively speaking, probably doesn’t happen as often.

Hi PDF, I will first give you a little background. First and foremost, it appears that you’re viewing this particular scripture from the reverse angle. In reality, this verse is referring to the children of Israel. So-called African or Afro Americans are in fact the children of Israel. Today’s white people in general, are mere extensions of the Romans and even further back, the Greeks as well. Both world ruling empires enslaved the Israelites or the children of Israel.
Now that I’ve given you a little background, I will proceed to explain why the shooting of unarmed Black men will never stop. When Moses was leading the Children of Israel in the wilderness, they began to complain (who complains more than Black folks, but with good reason?). We made a blood in, blood out covenant with the Lord (Exodus 24:8). We promised not to worship any other God. Well, He kept his end of the bargain but we as the children of Israel didn’t. This is why so many curses befell us as a nation. We promised not to break the covenant or the laws of God, but eventually, we did (Deuteronomy 28:15-68). We were also warned that we’d go into slavery on ships as well (Deuteronomy 28:68). The children of Israel were also told that if they did remain obedient, they’d receive blessing for being obedient (Deuteronomy 28:1-14).
Those so-called white jueISH people have never went into slavery on slave ships. They have stolen our identity.
To make a long story short, this explains why the shootings of Black men (Ezekiel 35:5) will never stop, because God’s curses are still in effect. He has utilized another people (whites folks) to whip us back into shape and hopefully we’ll remember Him and come back to His laws and commandments as it is written within the Bible.
Currently, we are in a state of calamity or destruction, not the cops or white people as a whole. We are in Amerika as slaves or servants as a nation because we broke His laws. That’s why it’s imperative that we view ourselves as a nation, not as a mere, impotent community as we hear all the time within mainstream media. And the only path to get out of our current dilemma as a nation, we must return to Him as a nation, just as we turned our collective back on Him. Only at that time will our period of destruction come to an end as stated towards the end of Ezekiel 35:5.
In any event, I hope that I was able to answer your question(s).

Your explication of that section went much further than your implications in the original post, especially from a religious perspective. Given the connections you attempt to make to our modern conditions, I’m sure we could have spirited debate about God’s motives, covenants, and curses, though I think that would veer us of topic.
So allow me to focus on what I take you to mean as “spiritual responsibility,” or lack thereof in African-American’s case; with respect to not upholding the covenant which leads us to the current conditions. You said:
“Currently, we are in a state of calamity or destruction, not the cops or white people as a whole.”
If the cops are not in a state of calamity, then what weight does it carry in your mentioning of the enabler, call for changes in the judicial system and pointing out the disparate treatment cops display toward black people during stops? Why would their hearts need to be legislated? What was it about Abagond’s post that elicited the response you posted?
“Those so-called white jueISH people have never went into slavery on slave ships. They have stolen our identity.”
If the “white jueISH” did not originally make the covenant with God, how can they benefit from our shortcomings even IF they have stolen our identities. What I mean by benefit is first and foremost, avoid the slave ships and in modern times here in America, I am sure those benefits don’t need to be explained.
“To make a long story short, this explains why the shootings of Black men (Ezekiel 35:5) will never stop, because God’s curses are still in effect. He has utilized another people (whites folks) to whip us back into shape and hopefully we’ll remember Him and come back to His laws and commandments as it is written within the Bible.”
It isn’t their calamitous behavior, it’s an exercise in turning our eyes and hearts back toward God?
This last section is a LOADED statement at many levels and I will intentionally avoid some of them for brevity’s sake and to stay focused.
Religion and religious interpretation has been used in many ways to subjugate people throughout history, ranging from forced conversions to the curse of Ham. Equally important it has given the oppressor the psychological justification and spiritual peace that his or her actions were ultimately for the greater human good and for the souls of others. The statement you made teeters on that precipice. Though I don’t think that was your intent, the potential impact is all the same.
Socially, imagine a cop saying I was doing this in the name of God for all black people to remind them of the covenant they made with God (not trying to be flippant here). It is one thing to say that we as a people need to come together and view ourselves as a nation, stop allowing external voices to define us and start with finding our way back to God. It is a whole other message to say… well the statement that you made.
And we haven’t touched on if cops and or white people will have any spiritual responsibility for these killings or the stealing of our identity.
