This still breaks my heart. It is hard to believe it was only two years ago. Somewhere someone slipped in an extra year.

Black children are not seen as children in their eyes. The other day, a 62 year old white man shot a 15-year-old black boy to death, after the boy bumped into him. He said he was doing society a favor.

These sorts of killings are hard for me. My brother turns 15 tomorrow. I worry that while he’s out there, he will bump into a white man, or the police will see him and think to harass him, not recognizing his innocence, not respecting his status as a child.
I fear for him. He’s tall, but his mind is that of child’s.

Just another reminder that black children aren’t afforded the luxury of actually enjoying their childhood, being forced to be older and wiser beyond your years with no respite while grown white men in their 20s and 30s can be given a pass for childish antics.

I saw the news story. If there ever was a time for “an eye for an eye,” now would be it. Because at the end of the day, that’s all that people like this poor piece of white trash understands.
