Is Donald Trump racist?
Does the sun rise in the east and set in the west? Is Sunday the day after Saturday? Does the country of Canada still sit north of North Amerika? Is Jupiter still the largest planet in our solar system? Is Egypt within the sphere of the African continent? Is the Pacific Ocean still the largest of the world’s five oceans? Does the gravitational pull still attract items towards the center of the Earth?

Is Donald Trump racist? Of course. Most white people are. Do one on Hillary. Do one on Barack. Of course you’d have to call that one “Is Obama anti-black?”.

If the question was if he thinks he’s racist you’d get a much different result.

Is Donald Trump Republican? Then yeah, he’s racist.

Seriously… Asking that question of readers of THIS blog, the outcome of the poll is a foregone conclusion. That’s like starting a poll on a Chevy blog and asking which looks better, the Mustang or the Camaro.
I’ve said it before though… I don’t think Trump cares enough about people to be what I think of as racist. Biased? Sure. Aren’t we all? Privileged? Certainly. However, I think he leverages anything he can to advance his own self-interests. If that means saying racist things or playing on the racism of others to garner influence, then he doesn’t hesitate. Not because he thinks people that are not White are somehow less than people that are White, but because ALL people are less than Trump and it’s typically the White ones that are useful to his goals.
I believe he sees people kind of like a big bin of Legos. Sometimes it’s helpful to sort your Legos into various sizes and colours, and if you have a lot, it can even be helpful to pay special attention to certain ones as you rummage through them getting set to create your vision.
In the end, he doesn’t give a $#!^ about any of us. He’d have to at least care a little about some of us to be truly racist.
Now, the supporters of his that I’ve met… WOW, there’s some racist folks. Super fun to play mind games with because they’re not particularly bright, but pretty scary to see how they think.

And yet commenters on this very blog keep making excuses for his flaming racism. Why is that?

In other words 1.413 people out of 10. Who’s the 0.413 bastard?

Is that what I was doing? I hope not. “Excuses” is not what I was going for. I do not believe his behavior is worthy of being excused.
I’m sure I’m just overthinking things because I genuinely believe his overtly racist behaviors are just part of a persona as opposed to being based in any sort of deep seated believe that people are different based on race. But yeah, sure, call him a racist, nationalist, creedist… it all fits and the impact on the targets of his rhetoric is the same…. so, whatever works… I have so much contempt for the man that I really don’t care what negative terms you want to throw at him.

“However, I think he leverages anything he can to advance his own self-interests”—I agree. A lot of the stuff he says is too ignorant to believe he actually believes it.

Can a narcissist truly be racist? Really think about that.

Yes. He has mastered the art of dog whistle words and some of his supporters are feeding off of it. Take this article about the uncensored crap some people are saying at his rallies. He could put a stop to this and ask for civility if he were a decent human being.

Just because he is a bigot and generally out of touch with minorities doesn’t make him a racist. Also, just because someone uses racists to further their own career, doesn’t necessarily make them a racist either. Narcissistic people with power often manipulate a wide variety of individuals to complete their goals – they aren’t that picky. Whatever gets the job done, with no conscience involved.
In the past I’ve often come onto this blog and argued with a lot of emotion, but over the years that side of me has been tempered with cold reason. I’m not saying he isn’t a racist, I’m just saying that I’m not fully convinced. Either way, he is not presidential material.

Republicans are jumping ship because of Trump’s latest drama which points to the actions of a sexual predator.
The fallout began in Utah and has spread elsewhere.
A group of Evangelical pastors released a statement saying that they still would continue their support. Mormans on the other hand will have nothing to do with it.
I always imagined Evangelicals and Mormans as being similarly cut from the same cloth so to speak. I have decided that my assumption appears to be flawed.
