Below is an incomplete list of mass murders that are part of US history.
- I count as US history anything done on what is now US soil or which the US government took part in.
- I count as mass murder massacres, wars, insurgencies, police killings, armed conflicts, terrorist attacks and mass suicides.
For reasons of space, I only list those with at least 100 dead. I generally take the lowest estimate, so stuff like the Tulsa Riot or the Banana Massacre, which may not have killed over 100, do not make the list.
Those in bold are still ongoing as of 2016. Those with links have posts. There is overlap between some of these:
- deaths name, year, location.

That’s a pretty good list. Although I have heard that the African slave trade was closer to 10 million. Also I believe about 18-22 million Native Americans were killed by Europeans during their invasion of North America. If you were to add North,Central and South America it would easily surpass 60-70 million.

Nat Turner did not have a rebellion, he was defending himself and his ppl against rape, murder, lynchings et al. If the Jews over took hitler and his army and killed them, would that be mass murder???

“In 2001, the Tulsa Race Riot Commission released a report indicating that historians now believe close to 300 people died in the riot.” Even if you were to say the amount of people killed in the Tulsa Race Massacre was a mere 90, when in fact it was around 300, that’s still a 233% increase of the so-called official first count of the number of people killed. Historically, Amerika has proven time and time again that it isn’t very good at math when it comes down to doing a body count. Conversely, when it comes to building weapons of mass destruction, to murder people, this country is as sharp as a tack and their precision is unmatched.
Even further and for argument’s sake, if you’d take this same 233% increase and apply it to merely the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade’s 4,800,000 + Native American Genocide 2,000,000 + Conquest of the Americas’ 8,400,000 and Vietnam or Southeast Asia’s 1,484,000 alone, which doesn’t include the countless known and unknown war rampages across the globe by Esau, it would equal to an astonishing 16,684,000 deaths.
Subsequently, if you’d take this same number and increase it by 233%, the number of people murdered of massacred by Amerika would equal to 55,557,720 innocent people killed, and that’s a very conservative calculation of figures (smh).
Don’t be fooled by the official numbers involving the death count put forth by Amerika. Personally, I’m a firm believer in John Swinton, a Journalist who once said: “The business of journalists is to destroy the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify and to fawn at the feet of mammon.”
As it states in 2 Corinthians 11:3-4, do not be deceived by the “subtlety” of a certain group of people, or else, risk losing your life in the process. Stay awake!

Where there was a range of numbers, I used the lowest one, even if most numbers were much higher. So the numbers should be read as “at least this number of people died, it could have been much higher.”
Also, while making this list, I noticed that dead White people were more likely to be counted and counted accurately than dead people of colour. So events where most of the dead were White are more likely to be closer to the true figure.

This from Britannica.com:
That is well over 3 million Vietnamese lives lost. That is probably also an undercount.
Lives lost among the Cambodians and Laotians are rarely mentioned. They were officially not at war with anyone, but they suffered horrific bombings and armed raids because of their neighbor’s war.

Two points:
1. The Second World War tops the list, but the bombings on Hiroshima, Tokyo and Dresden are mentioned too. I would consider them as one. Why were they separated from the rest?
2. For a part, the War of the Spanish Succession (1701-13) took place in present-day USA. The North American theater cost the lives of at least 1350 persons (Spanish and British Indian allies not included): see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_Anne%27s_War
The complete War of the Spanish Succession left at least 400.000 dead: see the French Wikipedia, who got their figures from this source: http://necrometrics.com/wars18c.htm#SpSucc

???
I am praising you for “dismantling stereotypes.” I believe that differs from what you are saying here.
I’d say it’s safe to assume that you believe gro jo equally confirms the negative stereotypes of Blacks. Bravo.
No. Stereotypes might have some truth in them. However, it seldom occurs that stereotypes tell the WHOLE truth. At best, stereotypes are a caricature, and do not take into account all other qualities and talents a person has.
Therefore, it is wrong to say someone “confirms” a stereotype, especially when you only know that individual from some comments on a weblog.

True. All we see in any comments section is a tiny sliver of who the other commenters are. I’m sure that if Abagond ever hosted a meetup of his commentariat, we would all be deeply surprised at the assortment of personalities and offline behaviors of those people who attend.
How many of us who are verbose online would be absolutely tongue tied in person. Some of us who commonly write brief comments would be the most talkative. We would be surprised at who the most adept comedians and storytellers.
Thanks for bringing that up, Jeff.

That is all you could quote?
It was all I needed to expose you as a hypocrite who backhandedly applies racist stereotypes. I place you at about the same level as Joe Biden “praising” Obama for disproving negative stereotypes of Blacks (ie: dirty, inarticulate, dumb).
…which shows you did not understand my joke.
The joke doesn’t work because “Asians [are] an acceptable target of racism,” as you claim.
It works because you are acting like a hot-headed moron, while the stereotype says that Asians should be wise and calm.
If a Jewish kid would comment here that bombing innocent women and children in Gaza is OK because “Palestinian terrorists had to learn their lesson,” I could have praised him for “dismantling the nice Jewish boy-stereotype.”
If a Canadian would comment here in such a racist way that it would make Donald Trump flush even more than he already does, I could have praised him for “dismantling the polite, left-leaning Canadian”-stereotype.
In short, the contrast of the badmouthing of the commenter and the more positive stereotype of the commenter’s background makes the dismantling-joke funny.
If you place that “at about the same level as Joe Biden “praising” Obama for disproving negative stereotypes,” then you really did not get it.
The rest of your reply was just a sad deflection to take attention away from that fact.
How evasive. My more serious point is branded as a “sad deflection,” so that you do can avoid discussing it. Well, maybe it is just better this way.

As expected, you are back to deflecting from your racist and microaggressive behavior by bringing in Jews, Canadians, and drivel about “dismantling stereotypes” to take attention off of you shifting goalposts.
It is the same as ever. Every serious explanation I give is dismissed as a “deflection.” How discouraging.
The reason you compared me to a racist stereotype of Asians, regardless of whether of not I disproved it, has to do with the Model Minority stereotype. It is the reason you felt it was “safe” to make a racist comparison of an Asian as being the opposite of wise and calm (a stereotype of Asians), but not of a Black person confirming just that stereotype, since the stereotype is that Blacks are the opposite of Asians.
No. It was an interesting attempt to read my thoughts, but I regret to tell you that it did not work.
The reason merrimay, sharinalr, and Afrofem condone your behavior is because they share your racism, but that’s their loss. They would have sung a completely different tune had you compared gro jo to a stereotype of Blacks, whether he disproved it or not.
And another attempt of mind reading. Given sharinalr’s reaction, you have failed again.

He constantly projects his racism on others, which is why he will always be wrong. As to the the racist Chinese joke…..
Kiwi: blacks oppress Asians
Me: The only thing blacks oppress is Chinese food.
Why? Well most blacks regularly devour Chinese food with no mercy and do not eat or have access to Vietnamese, Filipino, or Korean food that they regularly eat. It was simply turned back on him as a result of the bull he was spouting, but as always he throws out racism because he can dish but can’t take it.
Sad part is he thought if he turned it around by using soulfood that I would be mad and when that did not work he just screamed racism and anti-Asian even more. He hates being seen for who is is when the facade worked for so long.

Thanks for your comment. This looks bad, for many reasons.
First, if there were any reasons to take Kiwi seriously, they are disappearing quickly. In the Netherlands, there is a term called the “Calimero-complex,” it is used to denote people who are staunchly convinced that their position as an underdog is due to their smaller size, either literally or symbolically, which covers up for their own shortcomings. See also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calimero#Impact_in_popular_culture
It appears to me that Kiwi acts here as if he is suffering from it.
Second, by calling everything and everyone racist, the term loses its impact.
Instead of relating the term to horrible groups like the Nazis and the KKK, or horrible actions like police shootings and unequal job opportunities, Kiwi relates racism to black women eating Chinese food. I cannot think of anything more innocent than that. If that already is called racism, then why should I worry about being called racist?
You already can see the result by me jesting about the term “white privilege,” instead of frantically and hopelessly trying to prove that the accusation of racism is baseless.
But in a way, that is bad: there is plenty of racism in this world that must be taken seriously. Kiwi trivializing the term will do more harm than good in the battle against racism

I completely agree with you. On other posts I get the feelings that he is often bothered by anyone saying anything about Asians that he does not like or agree with no matter how true it is. If the individual is Asian then he will dismiss their view as not being “Asian enough” and that Asian becomes white washed or black thinking etc.

“Part of the model minority stereotype is that Asian Americans are apolitical. That is no accident. The stereotype was born in 1966 in the pages of the New York Times as an argument AGAINST the civil rights movement.”
This comment is nowhere near any of my comments, which basically indicate he could have just be speaking to anyone.
On top of that this little gem…” Yes, I believe Asians protest. No, I do not believe theirs resulted in more loss.”
So that isn’t an indication that he would be speaking to me seeing as his comment came several posts after what I said above.

(I will not give you a more elaborate answer, since experience teaches that you would call serious, elaborate answers “deflections,” after which you will repeat yourself. I will not cast my pearls before swine (Matthew 7:6).)

“When I pointed it out to you, you didn’t accept it because you are a racist hypocrite.”—I didn’t even acknowledge it for you to claim I did or did not accept it, because it simple is a fallacy and not worth playing into. So project on.

///The fact that you had something to say about me but not about gro jo, who I was merely mimicking, shows that you are a racist hypocrite. That you single out Asians for a comparison to a racial stereotype but handle Blacks with kid gloves reveals your true character.///
Again, your mind-reading skills are sloppy. Please go to your nearest crystal-ball-repair-service for a check-up.
///The fact that you need so many explanations just proves what a moron you are.///
Nope. It just shows you fail to read my points. Or that you just did not get it. I that case I am willing to explain it all to you (which, apparently, makes me a moron in your eyes).

“Multiple people, including Abagond indirectly, make statements that are critical of your stance and you swear they are wrong after you bullied them into not pushing it further.”—Quite the opposite. I took a stance that I stuck with. In fact it was particularly you who tried to bully me into seeing it your way and resorted to name calling when I simply did not. Heck here you are on a whole other thread continuing the bullying into your way. It just bothers you that not all Asians see it your way and I have the “gall” to speak up for them.
“It’s a shame that Asians who know you have to deal with the fact that you see them through stereotypes.”—That;s because the Asians I know only deal with the fact that I see them as individuals who are Asian and like the same things I do.
