Frank J. Gaffney, Jr. (1953- ), a former Reagan official in the Pentagon, is the president of the Center for Security Policy (CSP), a right-wing think tank he founded in 1988. The Southern Poverty Law Center says Gaffney is “one of America’s most notorious Islamophobes.” Gaffney says he is no Islamophobe.
Follow the money: Gaffney makes about $300,000 a year as president. CSP gets its money from the likes of:
- Lynde & Harry Bradley Foundation,
- Sarah Scaife Foundation,
The foundations are known supporters of Islamophobia. Raytheon and Boeing are defence contractors that profit from war. Raytheon, for example, makes bombs that are dropped on ISIS.
Who’s who: Among those who have been a part of CSP: Alan Keyes, Elliott Abrams (Iran Contra), William Bennett (drug czar), Jeane Kilpatrick (UN ambassador), Richard Perle (Prince of Darkness, Gaffney’s old boss at the Pentagon), Nina Rosenwald (Sears Roebuck heiress), Richard Scaife (Mellon heir, Reagan Revolution backer), Edward Teller (H-bomb), James Woolsey (CIA).
Sharia: After the fall of world communism, Gaffney discovered a new ideological enemy of the West in Islamism, particularly in sharia (law according to Muslim teachings). He says sharia dresses itself in religion, but it is all about power. Sharia is spread by jihad, holy war. It can take the form of outright war or terrorism, like with ISIS. It can also take the form of “civilization jihad” where the West is undermined from within by Muslims and Muslim sympathizers, such as President Obama and Huma Abedin, adviser to Hillary Clinton.
Obama: Gaffney says Obama grew up Muslim and may still be Muslim (and may have been born in Kenya). Obama has helped to spread Islamism to Libya, Egypt and Syria. He is helping to spread it to the US by taking in Muslims fleeing the Syrian Civil War.
Banning Muslims: The US should stop all Muslims from entering the country – it already has enough jihadists. According to a CSP study, 25% of Muslim Americans believe in jihad against the US, 51% believe it should have sharia. That “study”, though, was an online poll with slanted questions.
Enter Trump: This past week, Donald Trump quoted that same study and called for the same ban. He says the CSP is “very highly respected”. The BBC says it is not.
National Security Action Summit: This coming week, on Monday December 14th 2015, the CSP will hold a National Security Action Summit in Las Vegas. Among those running for US president who will speak are Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina and Rick Santorum. At earlier summits this year, Cruz, Carson, Santorum and Trump spoke.
As seen on TV: Gaffney has appeared on Fox News, MSNBC and CNN. He has written for the Washington Times, Breitbart News and the Jewish World Review. He has a nightly radio show in Washington, DC.
Taqiyya: He says Muslims who disagree with his picture of Islam either do not know what is going on or are practising taqiyya, lying for the sake of Islam.
Anti-Islamophobia is a trick used to help spread sharia.
