Remarks:
This went to #5 on the American R&B charts in 1987. That was back when Grand Central Station still had that huge clock. It was also when I first saw BET since this was one of the first videos I saw on it.
One of the songwriters was Lisa Keith, who has appeared in this space before as the lead singer on “Making Love in the Rain”, also from 1987.
Lyrics:
[CHORUS]
Why should I cry
Why should I cry, baby, for you
Why should I cry
Why should I cry, baby, for you
A feeling inside
Burning my
I was
Spending my days
Waiting for you in vain
All I got was pain
All brokenhearted
And
You don’t feel the same
[Repeat CHORUS]
I had enough?
Your love is crazy
You seem to think I couldn’t live
I maybe
Dancing
Now who’s in control
I have had to
But you’re like a shadow
That hasn’t been nice
Willing to
[Repeat CHORUS]
Your love
Why should I cry for you
Tell me, am I crazy, is it me
Are you to see
Tell me why, tell me why, tell me why can’t it be
Like I want it to be
[Repeat CHORUS]
I don’t wanna, I don’t wanna
I don’t wanna, oh no, cry baby for you
Like you do
Are you lonely, are you want me
Are you blue
Are you burning, are you learning
You do
Why should I cry
Oh woah
[FADE]
Ooooh, baby, leave it to Abagond to take me waaaay back. Thanks! I needed a little Nona today. Her music, that is.

Yeah Abagon, This is a good groove. Don’t forget Nona’s other jam, Keep It Confidential and I Sweat Going through The Motions.
