The poll is now closed. The winners are:
- 28 Afro-Latinos
- 26 the state of black marriage
- 21 black men, Asian women
The losers:
- 18 self-blame syndrome in rape and racism
- 16 Blasians
- 15 Shaniya Davis
- 14 voodoo
- 13 black abortion
- 11 transracial adoption
- 3 Jesse Owens
If your topic lost, do not feel bad: I voted for transracial adoption! (But if it was not me doing the writing, I would have picked black marriage). I might do some of the losers in time, particularly Blasians and voodoo.
I think posts on “black men/Asian women”, Afro Latinos and the state of black marriage would all be most interesting. I’m unsure where to place my vote!

I love your blogs. They are so relevant and interesting. I was surprised to see black men and asian women as a choice. Did some one suggest it?

I wanted to vote more than one. 😦

All the topics were suggestions from readers, but in the case of “black men, Asian women” the suggestion was more general: that I do different kinds of interracial relationships. So I picked one. One of the strongest incoming links to this blog comes from a post on the topic of black men and Asian women:

Black men, Asian women, old news. Between Korea and the Viet Nam conflict many, many relationships, Viet Nam being the saddest with obviously black babies left behind to become beggars in the street.
Perhaps I am too old, heard all the reasons Asians women are better, from both black and white men. It is not a racial issue, it has to do with the male ego and the fear of feminism. If you would write any thing about that. Thats the POV you should explore.
Nothing particular in poll interest me.

Please abagond write about Afro latinos make it a good and long post my mom is Haitian. I don’t know whether or not Haiti is a Latin nation or not. But if it Is I consider it to be one that loves there African heritage. My father is a Dominican but I don’t acknowledge him because I really hate him. I think Cuba is also a Latin nation with Afro Latinos that don’t have self-hatred. Please make this a really really good post.

Haiti is a Latin nation. Thus Haitians are latinos.
The term “Latino” is short for Latinoamérica = Latin America.
Latino = A preson or people that comes from an American country (north, south and the caribbean) where the language spoken is derived from Latin i.e. French, Italian, Romanian, Spanish and Portuguese.
Napoleon III of France came up with the term so he could gain support amongst Mexicans when he invaded Mexico.
So not only is Haiti a Latin nation but also every French speaking American country is also part of Latin america as well. (French Guinea, Guadoloupe and Martinique, all Latin.)
If the Quebec ever became independant (Which I neither support or condemn) it would be a Latin nation.
If the Louisiana purchase never took place, it would be a Latin nation as well (Assuming that it would’ve lasted to this day anyway!)
Here’s a couple of links to illustrate my point:

So yes your mother is Afro latino! So stand proud fellow afro latino! 🙂

Do a subject on why Black women don’t report rape. We don’t go to the police to report rape because the mostly white police officers and courts dismiss and discredit Black rape victims. Also, the racist/sexist attitudes on the part of the police department. We all know that police all too often use the badge to rape Black and Brown women and that there’s blaming the victim and the closed-ranks mentality on the part of police and judicial system.

La Reyna,
That’s an interesting suggestion! I think it would also tie into domestic abuse statistics. My roommate did a Soc research paper last year, and the research shows that Black women are more accepting of domestic abuse–that might extend in some way to rape situations.

Yes! Jasmine! I did a survey at my school about domestic violence and noticed that many of the Black women were apologist and accepting of domestic violence. This also supports the victim blaming many of them did on Rihanna. Lord that was a mess I don’t want to touch on at all.
