Remarks:
I would embed “Billie Jean” or “Don’t Stop ’til You Get Enough” but those are not embeddable. But this one is. It is a great song in its own right. Michael Jackson is 13 or 14 here. It makes you understand how amazingly talented he was. Although he is backed up by his brothers here, it was his first single ever.
The second song they do in the video is “Brand New Thing”. I am unfamiliar with it.
Lyrics:
Got to be there, got to be there
Be there in the morning
When she says hello to the world
Got to be there, got to be there
Be there, bring her good times
And show her that she’s my girl
Oh, what a feeling there’ll be
The moment I know she loves me
’cause when I look in her eyes I realize
I need her sharing the world beside me
So I’ve got to be there
Got to be there
Be there where love begins
And that’s everywhere she goes
I’ve got to be there so she knows
That when she’s with me, she’s home
Yeah, she’s home
Got to be there to be there
Got to be there oh yeah
Abagond:
Thank you. Simply wonderful!

I actually have the “Got To Be There” album on vinyl. Like most of the local radio stations around here, I’ve been playing MJ non-stop since the “news” broke.
Chaka Khan also did a great remake of this song.

I think it best said to the people of the world that are bashing Michael Jackson-“Beat It”! It is just horrible that people want to keep bringing up things that don’t matter. The good book says “Judge not lest ye be judged.” So, let us remember the good things that he has given to the world. I love you Michael and I always will. God be with you and with your family.

Great song.
There was a show(one of many) that has come on continuously in the last few days which was talking about how while Michael’s brothers were allowed to be free and go and do their own thing after rehearsals, he wasn’t.
Then they played Got To Be There. It added a whole new meaning to the song for me.

The bible says Judge not lest ye be judged by the same criteria…it doesnt mean you shouldnt judge, it means you must be willing to apply the same criteria to your own life.
I would also throw out a shakespheare quote “The evil that men do lives on after them and the good is oft intured with their bones – so let it be with …ceaser…Michael Jackson?”
I gotta say I liked his music – but I think he was a pediphile who bought off the media and jury with expensive lawyers and his fame.
bringing music to the world is NOT enough to excuse his evil. He did not cure cancer, he is not ghandi or nelson mandella or Mother theresa – he was a deviant who had a good voice and good dance moves. This worlds priorities are seriously messed up when we put music and dance above that which is pure, that which is holy….

dedebets, how can you say that michael was a pedophile? he payed off the family because he wanted to move on and he knew they were after his money. there were no facts he molested children. i swear no matter how many times michael was found not guilty, some people still want to believe he molested children, even the parents came out and said it was a lie. no one said that he was ghandi or nelson mandella, but they’re not holier than thou themselves. michael was more than just some singing and dancing man. he had a heart that wanted to make a world a better place and he did that with his music. i think it’s messed up that people are still considering he’s a pedophile when he was innocent the whole time.
