Does anyone know when and where the July 2008 issue of Italian Vogue can be bought in America? Has anyone seen it yet? It is the all-black Vogue that I mean. The fold-out cover is shown above.

I wish I knew I went to the book store this weekend at Barnes and Noble and I have yet to see it. I will be checking back on this post to see if anyone knows where I can purchase it as well.

I checked in Barnes & Noble in New York (Union Square) on Wednesday July 2nd. Same thing.

Chic Noir just told me:
Abagond, the Italia Vogue should be in stores sometime this week. The smart thing to do is call Barnes and NOble or some other bookstore and have them put an issue on hold for you. Otherwise, you may find it very diffcult to get a copy.

Down on Broadway and Broome in Soho, there is a magazine shop that had all the international mags – indi shop that you can go to and not support the big chains. It is on the South East corner of the street just below Broome.

Hey.
I called up B&N today——damn!—-they were sold out. (Now, why does that not surprise me:(
Called Borders—–they had none.
I am trying to find an international news magazine store that may have some issues.
Shoot.
My fault for not reserving a copy last month before July 9 came around.
Good luck to everyone in getting a copy

Big bookstores and huge magazine stands carry it regularly

Wait a minute! The date jogged my memory.
On Thusday, July the 9th, the Black Italia Vogue will be issued. Let’s all make reservations for a copy today at our favourite bookstore/magazine store to not miss out on this very important issue 🙂

Oops! Wrong info.
Wednesday, tomorrow, (July 9th)the issue will be put out for sale. I called B&N and the salesperson stated they do not reserve holds for merchandise not in the store. (Haven’t contacted Borders or anyone else, yet.) So, everyone your best bet is to be there BEFORE the stores that normally carry all Vogue magazines open. That way you can get your copy.
I also think the stores will sell the issue on a first-come-first-served basis, SO, if you are lucky enough to be off tomorrow from work or can get someone to pick up a copy for you, do that so you can obtain your issue.
Good luck to everyone!

I’m getting mine next Monday, however I have to get mine earlier, it seems that there has been a big, huge enquiry for this magazine.

Felicity, funny you should say that 🙂
The B&N I called, the clerk told me that there have been many people calling and asking about this issue.

Ann, I know, one shop ordered 80 copies. Something is going on!!

I hope I could find a copy at either B&N or Borders. But then again, both stores are located way out in the affluent suburbs.

I called the nearest B&N this afternoon, and asked the sales clerk if they had any in.
She said that one person had reserved TWO OF THREE COPIES (by the time I called.) I asked her to keep on hold a copy for me, and she said she would. She also told me that many people had called for this magazine and she wondered why, so, since she did not know, I told her that it was the “Black Italia Vogue”. She then stated that was the reason so many people were calling and asking for a copy.
Keep in mind everyone that this is not an American issue magazine. Since it must be obtained from Italy, and since some stores do not normally carry many foreign press periodicals (unless they are an international news/magazine stand), the availability of this issue may be very limited.
Keep in mind also how these mags may be shipped. Most stores that deal in mags like this do not buy huge quantities of them. They may do so in the case of American Vogue; in the case of French or Italian Vogue, they will only buy a few copies.
Another thing. When these mags are shipped from overseas, figure on buyers NOT using 1ST Class postage, or even 2ND Class postage. More likely they will use Bulk/Standard Mail, and anyone who is familiar with Standard Mail or Foreign Mail subscriptions knows that with Standard/Foreign Mail it can take upwards of 4 to 12 weeks for the merchandise to arrive in the mail, and land in your hands.
Not to mention, that Foreign Mail rates are very expensive.
Since she realized that this was a special issue (the likes of which may never pass this way again), the sales clerk stated that due to the popular demand for this issue, that she was going to order more copies. I asked her to put on reserve for me another copy.
So, how did everyone else do on their treasure hunt? 😉

I live in a small city in Va. and no one has it. I’m currently checking in Lynchburg, Roanoke & Greensboro, Nc @ B&N and Border’s. Is it possible to order copies of this collector’s edition? Does anyone know where? it doesn’t make any sense that we have to go through all this to find something that represents us.

Congratulations! And thanks for your account of it.
Do you know if all copies have Jourdan Dunn on the cover? Or is it a rotating cover like the current “cool” issue of Ebony?

I got mine today @ BN Manhattan Beach here in Los Angeles. Sorry, it was the last copy, but I think there’s reason for optimism. My issue declared it was the first reprint on the shrink wrap.

This means demand is being answered. So keep looking for it, keep calling BN asking. The sales lady who helped me was mystified why so many people wanted this issue. I didn’t bother to clue her in.
The price is 15.95
