President Obama kisses Maya Angelou after giving her the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honour the president can give. This took place on February 15th 2011. I have seen pictures of this before, but this one catches it at just the right moment and is cropped to make it seem private, despite it being at a very public event.

Come here expecting to see ab excellent blog post and the first thing that loads on my screen is a naked man, followed by something even worse – a naked black women. You made me vomit my dinner. I’m not coming back here.
I came here to see an excellent blog post and was greeted by a beautiful chocolate colored man and woman. You made my day and thanks for the dessert!
*pulls a face at Satanforce*
I wonder if the grandmothers of the kids killed by Obama’s clean drones have someone to kiss them so dearly…
You wanna make an omelette…..
Though I did know the pic was cropped, that’s such a great pic of Ms. Angelou and President Obama. She certainly deserves that medal. Her activism and poetry are awe inspiring. Btw, my favorite poems by her are “Phenomenal Woman” and “Still I Rise”.

Still I Rise was used as the backdrop and theme of my high school Miss pageant. Each girl had to come out in the opening of the pageant wearing African attire and was given a stanza from the poem to recite as she walked out and dropped into her own unique pose.

That sounds AMAZING
Maya Angelou looks regal as usual. Lovely photo.
It turned it really cute. But, i don’t think the pageant judges caught on.
What a touching portrait!
“Phenomenal Woman” and “Still I Rise”.
Those are my favourites as well.
Maya Angelou is such an inspiration to millions; especially to black women around the world.
