“Shit White Girls Say … to Black Girls” (2012) is a YouTube video by American blogger Chescaleigh, who calls it “basically my life story in 2 minutes.” Putting on a long blond wig she repeated the well-meaning but racist things (called microaggressions) that white girls have said to her:
- Not to to be racist but…
- Not to sound racist but…
- Not to sound racist…
- My grandma hates collards. Wait, is that racist?
- Why isn’t there a White Entertainment Television?
- The Jews were slaves, too. You don’t hear us complaining about it all the time.
- Is it, like, bad to do blackface? Is that still, like, a thing?
- You can say the n-word but I can’t? How is that okay?
- My best friend was black. I mean she’s still black, but we’re not really friends anymore.
- (Talking about her skin) Oh my god, I’m practically black! Twinsies!
- I told you to stop borrowing my lotion!
- Why is my computer acting so ghetto?
- (While shopping) This is so ghetto.
- (Showing a hand bag) Ghetto!
- I’m not really into black guys, though.
- So cute for a black guy, right?
- (Pointing to one of three pictures of faceless black women) That one kind of looks like you!
- Tanisha, what did you do to my computer?
- Can I touch it? Okay, I’m already touching it a little.
- Is this real?
- Is this all yours?
- Wait, it’s not real? It is? It is! It is, okay. Sorry.
- So nappy!
- It kind of feels like a Brillo pad.
- Oh, did that hurt. Oh, sorry! Sorry.
- You guys can do so much with your hair.
- Kinda feels like Cheetos.
- Hey do you know a Tyrone Jenkins. He just requested me. I don’t know, he’s black.
- Girlfriend. (hand motion)
- Holler!
- Holler!
- Sorry, girlfriend.
- He could get it!
- Sorry, could we turn it down. I don’t really like rap (makes a face).
- (Singing to a rap song, Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass”) Boom, badoom, boom bass? Boy you got my heartbeat runnin’ away.
- I gotta call you back. There’s an Oprah rerun on.
- I think what I like the most about them is they’re not, like, stereotypical, like, black people. You know what I mean?
- It’s almost like you’re not black.
- Have you seen “Shit That Black Girls Say”? Kind of racist.
She posted the video and left for work. Then it went viral. It got over a million views in the first day. Unlike most viral videos, this one is told from a black point of view.
Some whites were offended, not understanding the difference between racism and pointing out racism. Or “whites” and “all whites”.
Chescaleigh:
I made this video to highlight how many people don’t see the relevance in their words, but the comments just prove how many people still have a long way to go.
See also:

I recall one commenter posting Ms. Chescaleigh’s clip earlier and it’s so true. Plenty of white girls were practically up in arms over what she parodied. I mean, get a grip.
And it’s important to note, that the white people practically throwing a hissy fit most likely said these dumbass comments to their black friends. I mean, I can relate. I’ve had dumbass comments said to me because I’m Asian.
Leigh,
I agree. This video is funny, but comes from a personal truth that many people like her can relate to more or less. I’ve had a white girl once feel my head when I was a teen. That was my “petting zoo” moment, but I never thought much about it at that time.
And I have seen white girls act like stereotypical black girls as if they were trying to pass. They ended up looking ridiculous. I’ve seen white guys do the same things.
Well the post should really read Chescaleigh: Shit White Girls (In America) Say … to Black Girls
Because, I notice a lot of ignorance comes from over there. All you have to do is go on YouTube and read some of the comments people from USA post to get a little taste of those crass comments. I think white people in the USA are different from white people in other places. In the USA they tend to be more out there with their crass commentary. That’s my observation anyway.
Many white people from other places I have been to tend to be more reserved.
LOL @ the blonde wig…..NO.
Why don’t you just accept the fact it is natural for people of different races and ethnicities to prefer living and interacting among of their own race? Blacks will never be whites and whites never black. Let’s attempt to be civil and just but realize the basic truth we are all far better off achieving the best we can within our own communities. IMHO blacks were far better off before there were forced upon white communities where they are unwelcome in a futile attempt to promote integration of societies and cultures and genetics that simply are best separated.
It was only a matter of time…:)
It’s well done and right on point. I’ve seen/heard all of those comments and way more offensive ones directed at black girlfriends, or my wife, over the years. Just recently, in a work meeting, a white female, a subordinate to my wife, leaned over and touched my wife’s hair (which is in locks).
@John, why don’t you just accept that white people like yourself are psychologically damaged (living in “lala” land) and morally bankrupt? You make a comment like the one you just made as if separating blacks from whites would fix your racist way of thinking or the damage that has already been done as the glass continues to break. Too late to save face, so just walk away.
Why isn’t there White Entertainment Television?
My mom told me I got in trouble at nursery school because I keep touching a black boy’s head.
I sometimes call things ghetto fabulous, which I think is funnier than ghetto. I don’t use it very often, though. Most white people don’t get the joke.
Why do black women continue to wear blonde wigs? It doesn’t look good with their coloring. I think Michelle Obama has the best hair for a black woman. She keeps it short and straight.
“Wow, you’re so well spoken. I mean, you don’t sound like “them”
Still baffled…….”Did you go to a private school or something?”
“Are you sure you wouldn’t prefer chicken?”
“I don’t really care for it, but I know you’d like some kool-aid”
“What is the name of the day that certain black people didn’t know that they were free in the US?? Oh, there was one in Texas too? Well, I went to the one in Oklahoma!”
Yeah!!! Its not like Whites have a television station that is owned by them and caters to their own cultural and aesthetic needs! These poor whites have to put up with FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS, ESPN. USA,TBS, TNT, CNN, Lifetime, MTV, HBO, Showtime and Starz! giving a completely inaccurate reflection of themselves!
These poor whites should write to the heads of Viacom, Fox, Sony and the rest of them and DEMAND that TV shows be made that caters to them!
i remember when i was in the car with my brother (who is black) and my sis in law (who is white) this came on the radio and my brother turned it up. I was in the backseat quiet as hell but she was cool with it and was like this is a satire……awkward
How about these:
Why don’t you have acne? (As a teen).
…But you’re not really black.
Can a black person get a suntan? How about sunburn?
Look! We’re the same color! (After getting a tan).
You’re lucky to be on financial aid. My parents make too much. (Assumption).
He’s/she’s/you’re so articulate.
This is more in your price range. (Assumption from salesperson).
What does **insert random slang term** mean?
I really admire your Martin Luther King.
Petting zoo moment:
You’re skin (on face) is so soft and smooth. (After touching it without permission).
good post, saw before in Tube.
@lara: “I sometimes call things ghetto fabulous, which I think is funnier than ghetto.”
Ehem… And what is so funny about ghetto anyway? You do know what ghetto is? You do understand that there are even some white folks who do not find ghetto that funny at all, like in Warsaw ghetto etc,?
@john: The problem is this: millions of africans were brought over as slaves way back when (the brittish alone brought some 3,5 million plus the rest) and see, you can not send them back anymore because they are, well, americans, just like you. You can not get back to those Good Ole Days of segregation either because, well, it is against UN basic human rights for starters. So the only thing is get along and this happens only when racism is done and over with, but that takes time.
Slavery lasted at least 250 years but segregation up untill 1960′s. That was some 45 years ago. It takes time. But the thing is, time does it. Slowly but eventually racism will dissappear. Why? Because it is one of those hold outs from the past.
Today very few people think that God created man and a woman litterally like it is told in Bible (though for some reason in USA there are more literalists than anywhere else) but see it as an allegory about humanity, its birth and sin etc. Very few people today believe that the moon is cheese or that man has never been there (for some reason most of these believers are also found in USA more often than anywhere else). Today less people think there are biological races than 30 years ago, or 50 years ago, simply because science has proven that there is only one human race biologically.
Modern racism has been around only some 400 years. A short time in history of modern man, some 25 000 years. It is not a fact like air or water, it is an invention. It is an idea promoted mainly for economical reasons way back when and kept up for the same reasons. Yes, there are those simpletons who believe in it, but that was and is the very idea. It is an ideology with which some can make themselves very rich and oppress huge amounts of people with the help of believers. But the days of this ideology are numbered.
30 years ago nobody could imagine that soviet communism could be wiped out. It took about few months in 1989-91 to dissappear completely. That is how fast things move on when the time is right.
Bit by bit, slowly, the very foundations of racism are chipped away, fall out of use, like rusting old iron beams that support the rotten house of race biology and other ideas like that. One day the whole building will come down, crashing or simply just falling apart. It is unavoidable. It is called progress. History.
Sorry about the preaching.
the sad thing is a lot of the stuff she’s talked about I’ve experienced…and i’m sure a lot of bw have…
the word ghetto:
I would hear the word used by whites in HS. In one instance after volleyball practice, this white girl Christina referred to the car that the brother of one of Black girls on the volley team was driving as “ghetto,” it was like a truck or SUV or something
In another instance, I was standing outside the mall with my friends who were all white females and one of my friends said “uh OH, Proud’s gonna get ghetto with them.” (referring to a group of young Black boys who were talking by the movie theater.
Hair: Petting Zoo remarks
I’ve had white women AND white men touch my hair without permission. I remember I had a white guy pet my head and I’ve had countless white women touch my hair, including my friends, especially if its natural…then its’ fair game
All Blacks Know Each other:
I remember one time I was working on a project with white female friends and we were making a video and in one scene, my white friend’s father participated and my white girl friend said “we should all use our fathers in the video, for you (me) we could just use some random Black guy and put him in.” *chuckles*
- I kid you not at that comment and by the way, my father is active in my life and is married to my mother, they thought it was a funny joke apparently though.
Most Black Are Stereotypical:
Been called “white girl in a black girl’s body,” by this white girl and been called the white girl in black girls’ body in various forms, by white women and white men
I remember one instance that was particularly hurtful, because this girl, to this day is still one of my closest friends…so it was painful for her to make a remark that to me was a closet racist comment…
we were walking down the street by the mall (which is in a predominately white area) and my friend said to me “yeah, the quality of this place has really gone down.” “why do you say that?” I asked. “well, because the bus line goes through the inner city, so a lot of kids come from there and you…they go rambunctious here.”
the inner city is predominately a Black area, so basically she was saying that “the blacks came in and now the quality of the area has gone down,” But ,she seemed to view me as an exception (i guess) because I came from a middle class background, so to her, maybe she felt comfortable saying it because I wasn’t “like them.”
But, I wondered when other white people looked at me did they see me as “an exception,” or was I simply another “rambunctious black teen taking over their neighborhood?”
and btw right after she said that a Black woman and her son walked by and they weren’t being rambunctious, they were just shopping around like normal.
@John Acord:
Why don’t you just accept the fact it is natural for people of different races and ethnicities to prefer living and interacting among of their own race?
—
And why don’t you just accept the fact that black people and other people of color have the right to live, work, study, etc . anywhere they want, just as whites do?
***
Let’s attempt to be civil and just but realize the basic truth we are all far better off achieving the best we can within our own communities.
—
There is no such thing as “Separate But Equal” in this country. You can thank racism for that.
***
IMHO blacks were far better off before there were forced upon white communities where they are unwelcome.
—
So you think white people are the ones being “forced upon?” Apparently you’re no student of history or current events, though you seem to know who George Wallace is.
Not to be racist but:
This is a difficult story for me to tell, but one time when I was at a restaurant, it was myself, my 3 white female friends, one of my friend’s white boyfriend, and me. I was sitting at the booth and we were all waiting for one of my friend’s brother to arrive, so I got up to go to the bathroom and when I came back, my chair was moved to the end of the table because her brother had arrived…no problem, no big thing.
But one of my friends decided to make an awkward joke, so she said “Blank, because you’re black we moved your chair to the end of the table.” I kinda brushed it off because i got that she was trying to make a joke, but it really wasn’t funny. But no one said anything. So, we sat down and resumed normal conversation and I was sitting in my seat and my other friend asked me a question and out of the blue, my other friend who had made the comment earlier said to everyone (jokingly) “oh we can’t talk to her this is COLORED section of the table…”….
I was so shocked, I didn’t even say anything and the table just fell silent for what seemed like forever and finally one of my other friends reprimanded the girl who had made the comment and the brother said “I forgot that we’re all different here.” So, I think they felt uncomfortable about it, but to this day, I still couldn’t believe that she would feel comfortable making a “joke,” that really wasn’t funny in a situation like that…what I was supposed to laugh and think it’s funny…it was rude….
it’s weird because in a way people make jokes to try and deflect away from their racism, but it doesn’t work…
and also i forgot to mention about the hair/petting zoo comments
when i went natural in college and went out with my white friends from highschool i was asked repeatedly “and this is ALL yours?” (friend reaches out and strokes afro puff)
and also about the “all blacks look a like,”
i can’t tell you the countless times i’ve been called another black person’s name…i’ve had friends parents come up to me and call me the only other black girls name and just talk to me about stuff that the only black girl did…
like for an example, one of my friend’s mothers came up to me and said “oh [insert only other black girl's name] congratulations on getting accepted into –University…”
me: *blank stares* I’m not [insert only other black girl's name]
and then I had an old teacher who has literally known my mother and I since I was in elementary school go up to my best friend’s mother (who is black) and say to her “oh, your daughter did so great in her performance.”
My friend’s mother: that’s not my daughter, my daughter is –, do you mean Proud’s mother’s name…
Oh, yes…I’ve had all of those things done and said to me, and then some. My book details some of the best and worst moments.
Personally, I’ve never experienced the petting zoo thing, but I have read about many women (from the USA) who do that sort of thing.
On one hand you could say that people in the USA are ‘friendly’ and a little bit out there, but then again, putting your hands into someone’s hair is just invading their privacy, personal space and personally, I think it’s quite rude.
Now, personally, I have no problem with anyone wanting to touch my hair and would usually invite people to do so, you could say I’m friendly too. However, just putting your hands on someone without asking first is just rude and shows the relations between different groups especially in the USA.
I guess you could say that there are different brands or techniques of racism in different places. Some people show their racist attitudes in a number of different ways, some are more underhanded and sly, covert, while others are more out there, blatant and in your face, overt.
or
Maybe it’s just ignorance.
@ indigoblu
How about…:
” You’re british? How…?
” Wow, your accent is soooo….different.”
” Where is you grow up? Really…For real? How…interesting.”
” What does ____ mean?”
” Do you consider yourself black? I’m you’re not from around here…”
” Why do all black people say ,” I axed him a question, instead of asked him a question?”
” You go, giiirrrrl”
* sigh *
I have a good story. I had a black girlfriend in high school and she came over my house one day. We went into my brother’s room, where he had a full size Confederate flag hanging. She was a little offended, but to her credit we remained friends.
Yep, Chescaleigh got them stereotypical clueless white girls down. LOL!!
Here’s one from my past:
“oh you’re not black, you’re just a dirty little white girl” *rolling eyes*
Lara, has that any relevance on what W-word girls say to anybody? The Confederate battle flag is obviously of greater beauty than the US flag, and is widely associated with rebellion, which is rather attractive to Highschool boys.
I hear this one a lot in my neck of the woods: “Ooooh, that guy has a ‘ghetto booty’, doesn’t he?”
This statement is ALWAYS made by white females about white guys who work out a lot – I always called it a ‘bubble butt’; that cute, tight round bum which comes from bike riding and working out the lower body, especially on the mesomorphic physique.
@’ProucChocolateGirl, wow! That was horrifying. I’ve not had white folk trying to touch my hair, or do’nt recal if they did so and I just was not aware, but I have had the awkward freudian racial slip ups. Another not so slip up was when a colleague of mine invited me to join a group of educators who met twice a month at a local wine bar. She talked up this get-together, as fun, a networking haven, and the meeting of a great group of folk (comprised of men and women) who utilized their professional comraderie as stress relief for life and teaching. Well, I was so excited to become a part of this group, and met them at this wine bar. They had already been there for some time, so they had already eaten, drank conversed etc.
Once I arrived, I noticed, or ‘felt’ uncomfortable immediately. First, I was the only black person, which in and of itself did not bother me. Second, as I approached, I could see that they were having a lively discussion, full of laughter, but once I sat down, it all subsided, and, within minutes folk began leaving, talking about an early morning(this was a Friday evening), tasks, chores, children to get home to etc. My friend was there, and, I could see the confusion on her face. Finally, only she and I were left, and she ordered another carafe of wine and bread/cheese fruit for the table. It was obvious that the ‘spark’ was done, So, we talked a bit, ate then left. That following Monday at work, I saw her, and she told me that, the group had decided to have the gatherings at various members’ homes, and as she could not simply invite me to their homes, that I would not be able to attend. I expected this, but was still ‘shocked’ that this group of ‘educated’ professors, did not wish me to be a part of their group. I was’nt mad or even angry about it, but, I was deeply disappointed in their reaction/decision and her lack of insight into who ‘they’ were. She and I had been quite supportive of one another at work, but after this incident, our ‘friendship’ ended.
@ oyan:
I’ve had a couple of incidents like that happen with me. I now politely delince any invitations for after-work ‘social gatherings’; if people refuse to speak to me during work hours, then it’s highly unlikely that they will interact with me at any other time.
Last year, for instance, I had bought a Macy’s gift card as a ‘new Mommy’ gift for one of the pregnant ladies in the office. Shortly after that, I received an invitation to her baby shower. I was ‘univited’ five minutes after I accepted, then was subjected the next day to the hearty laughter of the other women as they gushed and raved about what a wonderful time they’d had at the shower. Pretty gauche, but I expect nothing better from mannerless, cud-chewing cretins. Goats display more class!
In response to why you think Blacks can call other Blacks the n word and whites can’t….
Because Blacks in general, especially African Americans need to have established SOME level of trust with you in order for personal information to be shared freely and jokes, especially sensitive jokes exchanged. How do I know that the White person wanting to use the N word with me is not a card holding Jim Crower in private? American Blacks have been f****d over throughout their history by Whites that they need to be absolutely sure that those Whites with whom they let their guard down around are genuine folk who will not turn around and stab them in the back. I disagree with the use of the n word among American Blacks, period. Tolerating the N word from any white fellow without being sure of their intent would be like handing someone the knife with which to stab you in the back. No more that that…actually guiding their hand to stab you in the back. And that, my friend, we will not do.
Teddy,
Exactly. My brother wasn’t celebrating slavery, he was celebrating the rebel spirit the South had.
I’m going to have to call bullshit on the rebel flag not being racist; generally speaking only the real serious racists actually have the rebel flag, even in the south, maybe I should say especially in the South.
And of course; the “rebel spirit” the South had was about not giving up slaves……so there really isn’t a whole lot to celebrate there.
Lara; this might be offensive but you yourself seem kind of racist to me, if your brother even has some of your ideas and opinions on black people that really doesn’t help to support the rebel flag isn’t racist.
@ oyan
I ‘ve given up completely on being friends with whites. Our lives, experiences are just too different.
The workplace has been somewhat of a battleground, the first 15 minutes of Saving Private Ryan kind, that I’m emotionally exhausted.
I know all too well the ” discomfort” that whites feel when I enter a room.
It’s as if blackness is contagious.
I declined our christmas party and many other functions. I’m always the elephant in the room.
Because of my reclusiveness, many people have taken notice that I’m antisocial. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Life is hard enough without other peoples mess hitting you in the face.
@ proudchocolategirl
Do you really want to be “friends” with people like this? Wouldn’t this be considered a racial microagression? I’ve dumped people for less than this.
@sepultura13
Did you take that Macy’s gift card back after you were uninvited?! Cud chewing, mannerless heifers don’t deserve anything from Macy’s!
Unfortunately, this video was spot on. I was laughing and crying a little bit on the inside. I’ve had people try to “pet” my hair like I was some kind of bleeping animal in the zoo. I’ve had white people tell me that I’m so nice for a Black girl. Some white heifer even had the nerve to ask me if all Black guys have big…noses. I should have told her to ask her mother!
Poor Truthbetold. I cannot even offer you hugs…
Happiness says,

laromana says,
Happiness, your comment is so on point.
It’s telling that, although EVERY Black person in America can recall at least one incindent where a White person treated them in a racist manner, it seems to be IMPOSSIBLE for MOST WP in America to even ADMIT that (due to American ANTI-BLACK BRAINWASHING) they may have racist attitudes/actions that need to be EXAMINED HONESTLY/APOLOGIZED FOR/CHANGED.
This is yet another example of American INSTITUTIONALIZED WHITE PRIVILEGE in action.
In any other social context RUDE/UNACCEPTABLE behavior is challenged/condemned and the offender is EXPECTED to CHANGE but when it comes to RUDE/UNACCEPTABLE behavior that is also RACIST/ANTI-BLACK, MOST offenders behave as if they’re ENTITLED to get away with /continue engaging in it (WITHOUT ANY CRITICISM from the TARGETS of their OFFENSIVE behavior).
Perhaps the ONLY possible way to end this MADNESS is to establish a way for Whites in America to gain first hand knowledge of what it means to be Black/face ANTI-Black RACISM, by having them briefly ( min. 1 week) walk in a Black person’s skin (with help of professional makeup artists).
@ laromana: ” Perhaps the ONLY possible way to end this MADNESS is to establish a way for Whites in America to gain first hand knowledge of what it means to be Black/face ANTI-Black RACISM, by having them briefly ( min. 1 week) walk in a Black person’s skin (with help of professional makeup artists).”
That one minute a week would DESTROY them.
@ Truthbetold:
I think that laromana meant that WP should have to ‘be us’ for a minimum of one week, to see what it feels like, but you’re right – they wouldn’t even be able to handle one minute per week, much less one week total! For that matter, would it be an entire 7-day week, or just the 5-day workweek?
Co-sign with you on the anti-social / recluse assumption…I’m quite friendly – I just don’t have the time or patience for other people’s shit anymore.
@ mochasister:
I would have taken the card back in a flat second, but wouldn’t you know, the ‘univite’ occurred well AFTER it had been used up and spent! I forgot that I was dealing with racist bitches who only use nice manners with people whose asses they kiss on a regular basis…
@proudchocolategirl:
Oh, gosh. I’ve had a similar experience. I’ve ONLY had white women and two white men (creepy fellows) reach out and touch my hair when my back was turned. When I confronted them, these people always remarked at how very thick my hair is and wanted to feel the texture. Of course, I’m pissed off and I cuss them out. What possesses these people to touch hair that isn’t theirs is beyond me. What audacity.
After viewing the clip and reading the responses and experiences, I have to wonder why do non-white people bother to pursue so called “friendships” with white people? As experienced here and in life, they’ll just suck every ounce of energy they can get, without ever thinking about what they need to give.
Try putting as much or more energy into developing positive relationships with non-white people. Leave these white folks alone.
If in doubt, cuss em out girls!
Jessica Simpson said that when she visited Africa, everyone wanted to touch her hair. She was flattered by the attention. I think white women have the softest hair.
Our skin is softer than black women’s skin, also. The one drawback to that is that it wrinkles more easily.
Truthbetold,
Have you ever considered taking anxiety medication? It might help with you feelings of discomfort in dealing with people.
Yes, you hag it up earlier, too.
Leigh,
Why do you hate white women so much? Did the popular girls in school not accept you or something?
@Lara
Our skin is softer than black women’s skin, also. The one drawback to that is that it wrinkles more easily.
For your information my beautiful black wife has soft silky skin, her skin aint likely to wrinkle any time soon either – not appealling to think that I would end up with a wrinkled dried husk of a woman…
I don’t know. Why don’t we pose this question to some of the black men, on here, who have been with both black and white women.
As far as pretty white women aging sooner, there is some truth to it. However, beautiful things tend not to remain beautiful forever. Women who weren’t anything special in their prime, won’t be as affected by the aging process as much. Black women age better, but never reach the heights of beauty that white women do.
Lara,
That’s a missing piece of the puzzle as to why you have such a disdain for black women.
Why do you hate black people so much? Why do you hate black women in particular? Why do you come to this blog if you’re incapable of learning a damn thing? What don’t you stop beating around the bush and say what you really feel in regards to blacks? And finally, why were you even born?
So much for representing a dominant race huh?
Comparing the skin of white and black women is way off topic.
Hmm. I hear this buzzing in my ear. I think it’s some annoying bug that needs to be squashed.
Abagond,
This is how Lara operates. She doesn’t care about what any of us has to say if it disagrees with her narrow-minded views. And now, this post offends her because the topic and video is telling the truth about how her group acts, something her typical white you-know-what fears the most.
And she says she’s a part of a dominant warrior race. A baby bunny is more of a warrior than this clown.
Anywho, I remember one white girl talking with a mixed girl father’s black, mother’s white) about sex. This white girl said that she bets I have a big “you-know”. I had to stop for a moment because I knew about the myth a lot of white women have about black men’s genitalia. Thankfully, the conversation moved on to something less frightening.
brothawolf,
I would think black men would like having that reputation. In fact, I think all men would.
@brothawolf
Why do you hate black women in particular? Why do you come to this blog if you’re incapable of learning a damn thing?,
This individual is perpetually jealous and tries to undermine BW at every turn. As revealed in other comments she has made on other posts, there is something significantly lacking in her as an individual.
Such is her envy of BW she comes on this blog to try to get the support and reassurance from BM that she is ‘better’ than all BW to validate herself. Unfortunately, this has not been forthcoming so she continues to post on here , making the most ridiculous and inane of comments, and posting, on this particular post, not seeing the irony in the fact that she is the type of individual being mocked here.
This is all in the vain hope of finding this person to validate her as a WW – the odd thing is, she cant see that with the things she posts there is a lack of consistency and she comes across as uneducated and at times, unbalanced which is enough to scare off any suitor.
Leigh,
Why do you hate white women so much? Did the popular girls in school not accept you or something?
Lara, why do you constantly ask dumb questions?
It has come to my attention in say, the past 5 years, that there are people in this world who serve one purpose: To destroy.
This blog, I believe, was created for all people, especially those of colour, to share, expand their thoughts and come to some rational conclusion as who we are as members of the human race.
We answer comments geared to educate us and inform us of the self serving lies we’ve all been taught.
When I see some comments that are made with the clear purpose to inflame…it makes me sad what kind of world we are living in.
May I purpose a plan?
Ignore all stupidity and focus on the question at hand.
Like most children, all they want is attention.
Food for thought for all:
It’s easy to blame ingorance on all of the overt and covert statements that some white women ask black women.
But, we are living in an age of instant answers. Just a click of a mouse and you can easily educate yourself, ( if you really want to).
I think it’s not being around enough people that are different from yourself, developing relationships and yes, asking difficult questions.
There is a falseness that is associated with whites. It’s as if they don’t know how to be ” real people.”
Living in a self protected world has robbed them of any ability to realize that not because you are different, doesn’t mean you are bad.
As strange as it may sound for someone of your “superior” intelligence, Lara, I personally want to be known as more than just a potential sex toy.
Herneith,
It isn’t a dumb question. Leigh seems to harbor more resentment toward white women, than any of the black women commenting on here. I’m trying to understand why.
Brothawolf,
Okay, fair enough. That woman may just have been trying to flirt with you.
At first I kinda thought this was just a vamp off of “shit black girls say” and I immediately thought it was funny and well shot and edited, but you have made me look a little deeper into it. Thanks.
-tc
Herneith says,
Leigh,
Why do you hate white women so much? Did the popular girls in school not accept you or something?
Lara, why do you constantly ask dumb questions
laromana says,
Herneith,
L. and WW like her who say Sh– to BW/Black people are the quintessential EWB’s (Entitled White B—s) and they just “can’t help themselves”.
Their COLOSSAL sense of entitlement/self importance makes it IMPOSSIBLE for them to think about ANYONE else but themselves/their self interest.
That’s why you can’t use logic/rational arguments to break through their self serving MADNESS.
are you sure Lara isn’t a professor fenwick disciple?
@ leigh
“Yes, you hag it up earlier, too.”
LMAO
where did my comment go? why’d u remove it abagond?
u can’t ignore that beauty standards are an integral part of the racist structure of this country, they are a foundation of white supremacy actually
It isn’t a dumb question.
Yes it is as are most of your statements.
That’s why you can’t use logic/rational arguments to break through their self serving MADNESS.
I have my suspicions about this ‘Lara’ but will not post them. You hit the nail on the head though.
what do ya say abagond?
actually I should say sexuality is the foundation of white supremacy and beauty standards relate to that
Oh yeah Lara because you know white women LOOOOOOOOVE us black men. They can’t get enough of our brown sugar. Yea, you know it to be true. It’s in the white woman’s nature to love BBC.
SMH.
I saw this a while ago. It’s hilarious because it’s true.
I’ve had the East Asian variety of some of these things said/done to me as well. Some random examples:
- A guy telling me they’re going to call an East Asian man they see sometimes `ch*nk’ and ask how’s it going because `ch*nk is the same as “dude”, right?’
- `I’m just not attracted to East Asian women. No offence.’
- `He/she’s kind of hot for an East Asian/Eurasian’ (Yes, I’ve actually heard that said about Eurasians despite the stereotype of them all being beautiful. There’s also a stereotype about them all being an ugly, odd-looking mess of White and East Asian features.)
- `I could date an Asian person, but I would never have kids with them. They would come out all ugly and deformed.’
- (Pointing at any female celebrity of East Asian descent) `Hey, you two look SO alike!’
- Random people coming up and stroking my hair then commenting on its texture.
- `Hey, who’s [insert random Asian name]? You don’t know them? But you’re part Asian, right?’
- `I’ve been trying to call them for so long now, but all I hear are Chinese people!’ Glares at me like I personally instructed Chinese people to hijack the phone line.
- `Oh, you’re part Chinese? Do you know karate/kung fu? HOOOOOWAAAAAA!!’ (Apparently most of these people don’t know karate is Japanese.)
- `So do you speak Chinese?’ then either `What does “ching chong” mean?’ or, in a stupid voice, `Ching chong, chang ching, ling long, ming ming!’ then laughter like mocking an entire racial group is an acceptable `joke’ that should have me laughing along with them.
- `You’re not like a typical Asian. You’re normal.’
I think Lara seriously wishes she was a black woman. She lacks the luscious lips, the chocolate skin, the sexy curvy figure, and the big ass. So, she picks on black women to express her jealousy.
@ Iris:
I hear you loud and clear. I’ve received comments such as:
- Why is it when you see a dog pound, there’s a Chinese restaurant nearby?
- You guys have such small eyes. How can you guys see through that?
- Chopsticks aren’t really useful utensils. You can’t pick up food properly with those things.
- For an Asian woman, you know how to drive.
- I love Asian women. They’re so tight. (Seriously, wth?!)
- You have boobs. I didn’t think it was possible for Asian women to have boobs.
Lara seems to openly and deeply hate “Black” people. Having a brother with the Confederate flag seemed weird, but the comment on “Black” women not reaching the beauty of “White” women put it together.
On topic, the video should be called “Listening to ‘White’ people.” As sad as it seems, it’s nothing for us to concentrate on: “Listening to ‘White’ people” is an unhealthy luxury, but, to this depth, a choice.
One issue with modern Africans in America is that they rail against the poor treatment received from Europeans in America, as if Europeans in America ever treated them well. What side of the whip tickled?
My turn.
– Where did yo learn your English?
– Come on! Speak some Jamaican!
– Yo! You got some of that good Ganja Weed
– How come you don’t say “mon”?
– You’re so polite.
– So what’s it like in Africa? (all deep voiced Black foreigners are African)
– Why don’t you talk like those guys in Cool Runnings?
– Where are your dreadlocks, and why do you look so gangsta (I had canerows)
– Did you go to Africa this summer? (I had become darker from a trip to Sacramento)
Bonus question — Identify the race of the person who asked each question.
@ Proud:
Skin comparisons are off topic here:

@ Proud, Iris, Leigh, Oyan, Satanforce, etc, etc:
Great examples! If “great” is the right word. Some of them are depressingly familiar, unfortunately.
As a white person. I don’t know why it is so racist for me to find my own race the most attractive. I would never consider a black woman, who thought black women were the most attractive, wrong for doing so. There are plenty of nice looking black women, I just think white women are prettier.
Abagond,
Why is brothawolf allowed to say white women love black men (which is debatable), but I’m not allowed to point out the attraction works both ways?
@ Lara
Your comments are getting off too topic. Brothawolf does not have a history of derailing threads. You do.
Why are my comments to Leigh all deleted? You let me say things to the black women, and don’t delete them.
Ever wonder how the reverse would be? If I walked up to a white woman and said:
1. How come you guys have no ass?
2. Is is true your men have small d***s?
3. How’s that crystal meth? Do you know where I could get some?
4. Why do you folks wrinkle so easily?
5. Why are all white people so racist?
6. I saw a picture of a slavemaster in a history book. Do you know him?
I’ve been asked #1,4,5 and 6 on that list.
@Truthbetold
lol….you don’t care what you say.
@Satanforce
It’s interesting how this things goes right across the board.
Abagond:
Whitewomen know that they’ve been spoonfed a bunch of bulls**t by whitemen. Why so many of them continue to view themselves as better than blackwomen, Who Knows? In hindsight, it’s comical to many of us now. Growing up, it wasn’t so funny. Blackwomen were beat down on a daily basis, as it related to their ancestry, beauty, sexuality, intelligence, motherhood, etc. Today, blackwomen have a firmer grasp on things, and act accordingly. Sistas should and must set the record straight as it relates to their interaction with whitewomen going forward.

A fellow Jamaican! I’m happy.
I’d say the people that asked the questions were both Black and White Americans.
“Blackwomen were beat down on a daily basis”
On youtube I see a lot of videos of black women beating up other people. The only one I can recall where black women were being beaten, was by a black man with a stick, in a fast food restaurant. And they attacked him first.
Ding Ding Ding. You get the prize. In what ratio though?
@ Lara
You had me till you mentioned #6. And the fact that I’m watching Sara Jay in MILFs like it Black doesn’t help you out with # 1. The PAWG is a real thing.
“You had me till you mentioned #6″
I threw that in to be funny. The other three, I’ve definitely been asked.
“Ding Ding Ding. You get the prize. In what ratio though?”
My guess………….. More Black Americans then White Americans. Black americans seem to think that Black people are only in Africa or the USA.
They seem suprised that there are black people in other parts of the world. Especially when my cousin went to the USA. Both black and white americans (more black then white) were suprised by a black guy speaking with an “English” accent.
@ Satanforce
” Speak me some Jamaican,,”
LOL!
**** shakes head****
@Vin
To be fair, some of the questions, I can easily see a black American asking but very few…like about weed or mistaking the guy from being African, but not the rest. The rest are, mostly purely white American’s questions.
@ indigoblu:
Both vindicator and Satanforce are trolls – they just happen to be less overt than the obvious ones. Why else would they twist this topic into ‘things that dark-skinned Americans ask dark-skinned non-Americans’?
Just pointing it out…
As Homer Simpson once said, “It’s funny because it’s true.” I’ve had ignorant comments from white folk variations on the ones Chescaleigh parodied. Just goes to show how little whites know about or even care to know about black people.
@Sepultura13
That could be true. He could also actually be black pointing out something that is true, in some sense, bc he feels a certain way about it– I’ve met people like that before in reality. Either way, it’s a slight derailment, nothing that was going to cause an all out conversation, but thanks for pointing out the possibility….
Oh, just want to say that the subject of this post is stupid things white girls say to black girls. Not stupid things black girls/people say to black people or anybody else. It’s annoying the amount of derailing that is going on here.
I’m not trolling this topic.Except when I am addressing Lara. It’s just that for all the talk that Black Americans have with regards to white people being racially insensitive, they can be just as culturally insensitive to those whom they are different from. Just because I’m coming from a different perspective doesn’t make me a troll.
@ indigoblu
Christmas 2001
Stepmother’s father asks, “So Satan, where did you learn your English?” My father interrupted to explain that English is our native language. The gentleman then asked me to speak some Jamaican. My father again interrupted before I could tell him bout him raas. (Middle Class black household, California Bay Area)
Summer 2010
Going to buy one of those big 10 piece chicken buckets like what they show people eating out of in the KFC commercials (had to do that at least once in my life). Hail Rastaman I had befriended – “Yes I”. Hailed another Jamaican “Yagga Yow!” Group of young men approach me on the way to the bus stop, “Yo bruh, you got some of that good sensi?” I reply , “No Officer. you have the wrong person.” The gentlemen continued to call after me. Apparently they had observed me fro across the road, and crossed to ask me for some dimebags. (Lauderdale Lakes, Hawaiian Palms a lower class project, Florida)
Summer 1999
Various upper-middle class white American teenagers ask me if I know Bob Marley, and why don’t I speak like those “guys in Cool Runnings”. The younger children played in my hair :- ) (upper middle class area, Northern California)
Will try to remember the specifics of the rest later. Of course, my experiences would be skewed due to the fact that about three-fifths of my interactions were with Blacks.
And this is what answers you would get if you would ask them to a white guy, truthbetold:
1. How come you guys have no ass?
My tribe breeds traditionally black horses.Purebred ones…
2. Is is true your men have small d***s?
Big, smal,l it’s all relative, want to judge for yourself?
3. How’s that crystal meth? Do you know where I could get some?
No, this is just NaCl. (Cum grano salis)
4. Why do you folks wrinkle so easily
Us can afford baths.
5. Why are all white people so racist?
Well, you may know the Bizarroes from the Superman comics? Always saying and doing everything wrong? An elementary study of Black-White relations on the American continent, makes clear that Black people usually want to do the opposite of what white people want to do them, and that drove the nice white folks crazy, did I say crazy? I mean crazier…The other 98% are just racist you-knows
6. I saw a picture of a slavemaster in a history book. Do you know him?
Lemme see. Do you happen to know any of his slaves?
@ Truthbetold
I wouldn’t recommend doing that. Unless you just relish the idea of dealing with WWT (white woman tears)! Seriously, that would be interesting to see how they like it. Something tells me they would object very strongly to being “otherized”. Then they would probably say something like “But I’m an individual!” SMH
@ Herneith
“If in doubt, cuss them out girls!”
LOL! Don’t think I haven’t been tempted!
Hey Lara,
Not to sound right, but why did the rich white men cause our economic collapse? Oh! I’m sorry. Was that right? I’m sorry. I should’ve said what was nice to hear and that black people caused it like we destroy everything we touch.
Say, let me ask you something? Why do white people commit crimes and blame them on black people? Did you know more crimes committed in this country were committed by whites? Why do you think that is? What’s wrong with those people? Why don’t they take some responsibility and fix their own problems? Maybe we should move to their neighborhoods and save them. After all they can’t save themselves I tell you what.
I’m sorry. I meant to say that black people commit more crimes because after all, they are black.
By golly! How come everywhere white people have gone they’ve caused destruction? I mean, really. They must really need Jesus in their lives.
I’m sorry. What I mean is that black people cause destruction because it sounds good to blame them for everything.
Also, why do white people can’t take the truth? I mean golly gee whiz! I was told that the honesty is the best policy.
Oh gosh! It slipped my tongue. I meant to say that black people should accept the lie…ur truth because you know white people are right about everything and they know my people more than I do, that’s for sure.
Lastly, why do white people have a lot of fears. I thought they were superior. If they were superior how come they fear us inferior guys?
Oh that’s right! It’s in their genes, their I.Q. scores, their inventions and accomplishments. Wholly cow! You’ve done everything! Gee! We haven’t done anything because we’re black. I’m sorry that I was born black, Lara. I should’ve chosen to be white. You know, like you can choose to be gay.
Gee Lara, you sure are smart and why shouldn’t you be. You’re white.
There. You see what I was doing? I hope the rest of ya’ll did.
There. You see what I was doing? I hope the rest of ya’ll did.
“Not to sound right, but why did the rich white men cause our economic collapse?”
I think a lot of people with bad credit were lent money. A lot of them were black or hispanic. If banks didn’t have the government bailing them out, they would be way more careful about who they lent money to.
Are we going to have you complaining about how you can’t get a loan because you’re a black man?
What crimes have white people committed and blamed on black people? The last one I can think of was Susan Smith.
“Maybe we should move to their neighborhoods and save them.”
You’d love that, wouldn’t you?
“I’m sorry that I was born black, Lara.”
Why are you apologizing? I thought you were a proud black man.
- Come on! Speak some Jamaican!
I have had clowns fake a Jamaican accent to me. Well I told them about their bumbo-clot, and then told them that I was not ‘Jamaican’, not all black people hail from Jamaica(shout out to Scotians, Trinis, Bajans etc.). I then informed them that my family arrived in Canada after the War of 1812. The look on their face was comical. Asking what island I am from is quite common. When asked where I am from, I tell them ‘my mother’.
Lara,
Just as I thought, you didn’t get it. You couldn’t get it.
Has it ever occurred to you that white people may just see things differently than you do? It doesn’t make us wrong, it’s just the white person’s perspective.
@Lara
Has it ever occurred to you that white people may just see things differently than you do? It doesn’t make us wrong, it’s just the white person’s perspective.
By the same token, has it ever occured to you that the reverse is may be true, and if so, why is it that you persist on posting to derail the ‘different’ posts by BP on this blog?
I now know why Garvey liked more than other Whites, the White racists. Not that he liked them and not that Lara is a White racist, but truly, of all the Whites, Whites like Lara are the most honest. I like it.
I wanted to write that Black people really should stop trying to change White people. Isn’t the cultural imperialism? White people are savage–they won’t admit it–but let’s be honest.
If we can point to an African conflict as savage, or those videotaped beatings as savaged, then WWII–where the whole of Europe was killing itself left and right–was a huge expression of savagery. Just to be honest.
Lara says “White people think different from Black people.” That’s a large generalization of extreme merit. Sure, some Whites can think like Blacks and vise-versa; but just as two cities can think differently, two continents will think very differently.
Really, I appreciate Lara’s honesty over the White liberals who give new meaning to the White liar. Sure, Lara is wrong on a lot of things–but OK? Lara is White and proud. Keep her away from a gun, but let her have her mic.
Lara says
Has it ever occurred to you that white people may just see things differently than you do? It doesn’t make us wrong, it’s just the white person’s perspective.
Demerera says:
By the same token, has it ever occured to you that the reverse is may be true, and if so, why is it that you persist on posting to derail the ‘different’ posts by BP on this blog?
And I say:
Also has it ever crossed your lily white mind that the white person’s perspective isn’t the universal perspective?
Onitaset,
That sums it up. Lara is white and proud – in a sick way, but she is honest. She loves being wrapped in the security blanket of whiteness and doesn’t want to let go of it no matter what. Even if everything she says is offensive, nonsensical, and demeaning, it doesn’t matter. Being white does.
@lara: “I think a lot of people with bad credit were lent money. A lot of them were black or hispanic.”
That is right. And it was done purposely. They were called Neutron loans among those who did the scam. This is how it worked:
Banks were paying bonuses to those who pushed out most loans, so for every loan you dumped out, you got a cut/percentage. Now, when the guys giving out the money realized this, they gave money to anybody, like an unemplyed homeless with minimum interest etc. Full loan.
When the banks realized this, they put together these loans and called the packages “financial instruments” and sold them to investment banks. Every time it was sold again, the value increased because it looked like somebody was selling out huge loan packages. Eventually they ended in some ones hands and could no longer be sold out. End game.
Investment banks like Lehman Bros crapped out and we all, as taxpayers crapped out, because our governments sold us out as guarantees, meaning we had to come up with the money. Basically the whole thing was the biggest pyramid sceme of all times. The loan takers and us lost out.
Some banks, who got our monies, were then emptied. Meryll Lynch board of directors gave to themselves (9 guys if I recall correctly) 6,3 billion dollars as bonuses after they had received YOUR money from the government as an emergency funding with no strings attached.
My source: Nobel prize winner in economics, forgot his name but the guy is american.
My question to you lara is this: how the black americans and hispanics are the ones ones to blame? Their houses are gone, also everything else they happened to own, if they took those loans.
“how the black americans and hispanics are the ones ones to blame?”
I don’t blame them. However, if the government refuses to back up bad loans, as I think it should, black people are going to find it much harder to borrow money. I’m okay with that, if you are.
Lara suffers from a bad case of ignorance. It’s entertaining. She’s just here to have “fun” and test her “logic,” but she doesn’t know much so she doesn’t rely on fact or history, just ‘piss poor logic.’
Her issue is that she needs some goal in her life. That’s sad. But it’s worth realizing that a lot of White people simply don’t have any goals. Just imagine being goalless and that’s really the flaw that comes with White privilege.
I would never want to be White and have one pride that’s in reality based on a thousand-and-one lies.
By the same token, has it ever occured to you that the reverse is may be true, and if so, why is it that you persist on posting to derail the ‘different’ posts by BP on this blog?
I don’t think anything has occurred to this broad. That’s the problem.
@herneith:
@lara: The money is gone already. Bush government gave it away. 770 billion dollars at minimum. Plus interest. You will keep paying that in decades to come, way beyond tomorrow.
“Also has it ever crossed your lily white mind that the white person’s perspective isn’t the universal perspective?”
Yes. I do understand where you guys are coming from. However, white people aren’t going to wake up one day and see the world completely differently. They are probably as open-minded about race now, as they ever will be. So my advice is to learn to live us. Or have nothing to do with us.

Sam,
Loved how you summarized the whole real estate/wall street meltdown.
Being in the industry, I can tell you, the majority of the loans did not go to blacks and hispanics…they went to EVERYONE…fast money doesn’t discriminate
that’s why they bubble went up so fast and high…the different instruments that were manipulated and used to give loans to ordinary people was “breathtaking”..
what made these subprime loans (which you called neutron loans) so attractive was that they were “no doc” loans, meaning if you told loan originator that you had $100,000 in assets or salary, the bank did not need an abundance of documents to prove it…creativity at it’s finest.
The Bank of America/Countrywide lawsuit represents a small fraction of the crap that was being slung (as far as blacks/hispanics being lead into higher interest loans with more variable/unstable terms)
@linda, satanforce: documentary Inside Job is very good summary about the mess.
As an owner of the DVD I can also vouch for it as well.
These types of loans were the (now notorious) subprime loans, used to help people who would not usually have access to the credit markets get loans.
Financial instruments are not the problem, seeing that cash and I.O.U.s are themselves financial instruments. The problem begins when construct securities based on mortgages paid by people with very poor credit, and then deceive others into believing that these Mortgage Backed Securities (MBSs) were backed by ever-increasing housing prices AND people making those mortgage payments in full and on time. Then they go deceive themselves with Credit Default Swaps and Collatarized Debt Obligations. Then you all get screwed.

@ Lara “Yes. I do understand where you guys are coming from. However, white people aren’t going to wake up one day and see the world completely differently. So my advice is to learn to live us. Or have nothing to do with us.”
I guess I agree with your first part, even though you seem to admitting to be of a group with a narrow mindset. But with the second part….umm…no. You should “learn to live us” if anybody should….because you know..”you guys” brought us here. Obviously, you aren’t grasping anything that has been said or “where [us] guys are coming from” if you have this to say.
Have you heard of slavery? Life for Black Americans in the South? I have to ask. Last week, I was informed that African-Americans began to migrate from their homes in Mexico in the 1950s, so things don’t surprise me so much lately. But in the words of your past leader: “Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?” We really need to educate students about history because they will grow up and post foolishness on blogs. That will truly make a difference. Because “you teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test.” If you teach a child history…well..hopefully you get the point.
Correct me if I’m wrong (other people), but you are getting the banking crisis chronologically..wrong. Banks were giving money, or more appropriately sub-prime mortgage loans, out indiscriminately(?)..before 2008. This was one of the main causes of our economic crisis and the reason banks were given the bailout in 2008. Despite the bailout money, banks are NOT nearly lending out as much money as they were (even though that was one of the hopes of the gov’t when they handed over the bailout). The overwhelming majority of the leaders in that period, AND currently, are white.
Just in case you want to bring up the black and hispanic people who “caused” this economic crisis, I want to remind you that there were other people w/ less than satisfactory credit that were given a chance (more correctly a preference) in reaching the “american dream” (The GI Bill’s mortgage program) when they didn’t meet the qualifications or even have collateral….
Not too far in the past and to a certain extent in the present (especially for business loans), if a person of color opted not to go to black owned bank, they would have been denied a loan and would have certainly been given one with predatory interest rates–even with good credit.
Firstly, I LOVE your blog, abagond, it’s incredibly clear, insightful, and hits at the heart of things.
Secondly, I don’t know why white people are getting so offended, as if they’ve never said or thought those things. *shakes head* If anything, it’s another way they try to exercise their power, playing the “reverse racism” card (which is so weak IMO).
I read an exceptional article about it here:
http://www.clutchmagonline.com/2012/01/not-everyones-laughing-at-shit-white-girls-say-to-black-girls/2/
Truly, insults to white people will never be as hurtful as insults to someone of color. As the article points out, “you can’t put white people in their place when they own the place to begin with.”
@ 1964
That Clutch article is excellent. Thanks!

I’m assuming that you’re white, Yes? You and your fellow white sisters have been living a plum life on this planet for the past 500 plus years…Lucky You! Blackwomen gave you everything you have…power, wealth, beauty, sexuality, health, etc. You should thank every blackwoman on this planet for making you relevant Lara. It’s time that you and your white sisters get the crook out of your neck once and for all. Give blackwomen their props, Stop Hatin! We know the real story, the bs in media is not fooling anybody. No disrespect intended, I had to get that off my chest.

Lara…I’m a biracial woman and I’m just laughing at you. Nearly all of your comments have been ignorant and irrelevant to the subject at hand. I doubt that you’re a woman. You’re most likely a white or Hispanic male with nothing better to do than troll Internet forums and spew nonsense.
But if you are really a white woman, I wouldn’t be surprised because I’ve met a few white females like you…delusional about their perceived superiority in comparison to non-white women.
Anyway, back on topic…I like the video. Many of those things have been said to me. I can relate because I’ve heard ALL of those comments, with the exception of the one about lotion and the one about rap music.
@ Satanforce…one of my parents is Jamaican and I’m very familiar with the stereotypes as well. What also bothers me is when people believe that all Jamaicans need to be dark-skinned or they aren’t “real” Jamaicans. We are diverse and no, we don’t all smoke weed and say “mon”.
@ cinnamondiva
Even with Sean Paul and Bob Marley? I have to shake my head.
I loved the video so damn funny!
I also loved the comments from white people saying it’s racist it’s almost as funny as the video. The creator was on the Anderson cooper show talking about it. White women in the audience were calling her racist for using the words White and Black. Stuuupidd
There has been Stuff White girls say to Asian, Indian/Desi, Arab and many other girls. Even a Stuff white guys say to Asian girls that was funny.
I think Checaleigh’s video was hilarious, poignant, and right on time. It’s unfortunate that ppl who feel persecuted by her very accurate depiction of “unintentional racism” choose to get angry instead of really reflecting upon how and why they think and speak the way that they do to their Black “friends.”
If Chescaleigh’s videos help open up a legitimate discussion about race relations in America, I personally don’t care who gets “offended.” Move past your narrow, self-serving point of view and THINK about how your preconceived notions and lack of understanding affect those around you.
Exactly – very well-stated!
It’s funny how the white girls, well, white people get upset by this video. Seriously, a lot of white people say the most stupid, ignorant ass sh!t all the time to non-white folks. It’s about time the shoe is on the other foot.
Insightful video.
More?
Black ppl are more racist than white people these days?
Why can blacks say the n-word but not me?
You black ppl are so sensitive. You can’t take a joke.
@Aiyo:
I know, huh? The white women were obviously offended because they can see themselves or other white women saying the same thing. If this video didn’t apply to them, why get so bent out of shape?
Well; in concept going by her statements it wasn’t just something white people did or said to her, but people of all racial types.
If so; than why focus on the aspect of white people who say it and not just to her but black women as a whole?
I mean if their was no racial element to it…….
Though of course there was and not just in her intent but in the intent of the women who talked to her that way or touched her hair.
“He’s Cute for A Black guy” to me kind of implies that most black men are unattractive to that person, which seems unlikely sans racial bias.
They have no problem with touching her hair because they don’t see her as being quite as human as them.
It seems on some level that taken together as a whole, they are an almost systematic effort to reduce the humanity of the black person(s) they are interacting with.
I suspect she was saying she didn’t view most of them as racist statements, simply as a way of avoiding hurting her friends feelings.
Part 2 Fellas
These videos are great, and overdue.
I remember also getting many of the remarks here:
Exotic! Exotic! What is that SMELL? Oh, I forgot you’re Indian too – no offence…
It must be disorienting (or something like that
) for wp to be exposed to caricature by PoC.
And, here it seems Chescaleigh almost apologizes!
None of the white women that are upset by the video seem to acknowledge that any Black woman or girl could have had her feelings HURT by ignorance. Are the offended white women in the audience practically in tears?
The tables of white privilege are turned, and it’s nearly unendurable.
“And, here it seems Chescaleigh almost apologizes!”
*************************
Bulanik, are you surprised by this?
Apologizing, almost or otherwise isn’t all that uncommon amongst black folks when whites misunderstand, become embarrassed/angry/offended or start crying. It’s part and parcel of the (often unspoken) “power” dynamic… going along to get along, because not doing so might cost you something…like losing WHITENESS’ “acceptable black” label.
Such is the depth of the psychological mind-control of sorts that been in effect for centuries. It’s an old script/meme that many Africans/blacks are struggling to overcome.
It’s just another one of the countless corrosive and deleterious effects of whiteness!
@Bulanik:
Both vids are great! Thank you!
The only reason why whites are upset by this is because it’s true.
Remember the rule of whiteness:
Falseness is never having to know thyself.
The only reason why whites are upset by this is because it’s true.
Plus the word racist has been used and abused so much as to obscure its’ meaning, you get these white clowns saying in a simpering tone; “But that’s racist too!” They are adroit at flipping the script. This is used basically to shut black people up. When that doesn’t work the water works get turned on. Absurdities abound!
That girl is really pretty, I also want to punch the first white women’s stupid, jowelly face. Just my first two primal reactions.
@Matari
Surprised? No, not in the least.
Under white supremacy only the feelings of white people matter. They think.
Your comment is 100% spot on.
Mind control, like a psychological s&m, is a powerful component.
Sometimes it seems to work much like this extract from The Help; white woman master, black woman servant:
http://jesusisolineed.tumblr.com/post/15181936511
Here in this sequence, we see the black woman call out the godlessness of the self-serving way of the white supremacist white woman, but immediately asks after white woman’s well-being in the next breath…
Chescaleigh’s calling shit out caricature is gentle, but serious.
After all, I have watched black women endure the shaming, deriding envy of white women more times than I care to remember:

@ Bulanik
So she’s NOT asking, “Ain’t you tired, Ms Hilly” (of being a Godless woman)?
Seriously – thanks for sharing the links.
@Matari – Ha!

@ Bulanik
“Do you even hear the words I say?”
“The ones I like.”

It must be nice having a (super-selective hearing) filter like that!
**love that 3rd panel**
A black on failing-to-be-whites response…
Nom De Plume — My comments were offered as a true reflection of the attitude and beliefs IMHO of the majority of white people in the USA. Yes, I know of George Wallace but I also know of great black leaders much admired in the white community: Clarence Thomas, Condi Rice, Herman Cain to name a few. I also know that the fraudsters and gangsters that control the economy and government of our once great land are going to be looking for a scape goat and blacks are the easiest to blame for a multitude of crimes that they never even contemplated let alone execute.
@John Acord:
Based on your last two comments, I can see why you would think people like Condi Rice, Clarence Thomas and Herman Cain are “great leaders.” They’re non-threatening in terms of challenging the status quo, and they seem to ‘know their place.’ They’re also known to downplay racism, which I’m sure makes a lot of people feel good about themselves. (I’m not referring to their party affiliations. Colin Powell seems somewhat different than the three folks you mentioned).
@john acord: Clarence Thomas? Condoleeza Rice? Herman Cain? Great black leaders? I wonder how and where…
@ Sam
I was wondering the exact same thing!
That would be on par with saying that Cher, Elvis, Sarah Palin and Santa Claus are great white leaders.. smh
I’ve been reading this blog and it seems as if lara really has it in for leigh. Me think she just a mad white women who hates all asian women because most white men prefer asian women over them nowadays.
@marcus
It’s debatable whether lara is female – or even one person, but probably 100% troll. lara has commented on different topics before, and tried to derail many other issues on this blog-site.
Somehow, I am not sure that it all boils down to some kind of sexual competition against East Asian women for white male attentions.
But lara’s white supremacist heart must have been cut deep by Leigh when Leigh said:
“Yes, you hag it up earlier, too,”
after lara said again only white women can be really beautiful/feminine.
@matari:
right!
I know that she (Lara) frequented over at Unamused’s blog basically agreeing with him and his disciples.
Interesting that. I learned of a racist website.
“Lara” is a chracter guys. I light weight troll. I came across “Lara” on Roissy’s site as well as the spearhead site.
Whoever or whatever Lara is, you won’t hear from her on this site.
speltura This statement is ALWAYS made by white females about white guys who work out a lot – I always called it a ‘bubble butt’; that cute, tight round bum which comes from bike riding and working out the lower body, especially on the mesomorphic physique.
Some people call it handle bars
call “those” handle bars. I find them very attractive BTW
“You mean, you’re not Indian?”
@bulanik:
@sam
I visited youtube over the last couple of weeks to watch the rebuttals/other versions of the video for a couple of weeks, and this video was probably the sharpest. Maybe it will probably be clear to white people who don’t get the joke simply because the messenger is white (:-/)
I’m white, and guess what? I have a big ass and a tight body because I am in the gym 5 days out of 7. My hair feels amazing because I condition and take care of it. I have had countless black people touch my hair without asking, friends and strangers, and I hate it.
I have been put into many situations where a few of my black friends were racist about white people “white girls got pointy noses and sun burnt skin, I’m so glad I’m not white” My roommate literally said that to me. Turns out I LOVE my pointy nose, smooth hair, and even my sunburns. I would take that over being black any day.
Point is, black and white people shouldn’t be fighting. You should be trying to make yourself happy and have your own personal style. Don’t like something about yourself? Change it.
Olivia,
If you can’t or won’t understand the point of the video or what the fuss is about, then you really shouldn’t be typing before you start learning from the very people you’re referring to.
LOL @ Olivia
Good for you. You get a “B+” for effort and an “F” for comprehension.
I have noticed that the majority of the commenters here are filled with equal parts self-pity and reverse racism. By self-pity, I mean the “woe is me, I can’t do anything caus a di racism”. And by reverse racism, I mean you the use of neuroimaging on statistically small sample sizes of whites, and then applying a blanket statement of that to all white people. Worse still, is the need to address every single racist troll and black nincompoop that posts nonsense in the comment section.
Brothawolf, calm down.
Just because some goofy white chick comes around talking crap doesn’t mean that you have to respond. We don’t have to feed every troll we come across. And you know what? Feeding trolls is exhausting. Can’t we use our energies for something more useful, you know, like a thinktank or something?
We shouldn’t be too quick to judge white people. I guess too much time around here can leave one to assume that all whites are HBD types or crazy Confederate nuts. My personal experience tells me that this is not the case.
