Oh, if only it were so! The white supremacists who make me want to weep are the nice middle-aged white men I work with who say “We give them [the non-white world] schools and hospitals and aid. Why do they hate us/blow up discos in Bali?” Those men would be appalled if you called them racists or white supremacists but white supremacist thinking forms their attitudes.

But that’s just a derailment to assume that we should ONLY focus on modern slavery and not focus on the Historic American Slave trade that has left us with a legacy of ongoing problems to deal with in this country.
